The National Hotel was a hotel in Washington, D.C. It was located on the northeastern corner of the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue and 6th Street NW. John Gadsby had it built in 1826. The hotel was sold to the city in 1929, and it was demolished in 1942.In 1857, there was an outbreak of a mysterious illness at the hotel.During the Civil War, Confederate sympathizers met there.There were many notable people who resided at the National during their years in Washington. Two prominent politicians who lived here were Thomas W. Ferry and Henry Clay (who died at the National).John Wilkes Booth had been staying at the National Hotel, in Room 228, the night that he assassinated Abraham Lincoln.

The Andrew W. Mellon Memorial Fountain is a bronze fountain sculpture by Sidney Waugh as a memorial to Andrew W. Mellon. It is located at the eastern tip of the Federal Triangle within the intersection of Pennsylvania Avenue, Constitution Avenue, and 6th Street NW in Washington D.C., United States. The fountain is across Constitution Avenue from the West Building of the National Gallery of Art. The Department of the Interior maintains the fountain, which President Harry S. Truman dedicated on May 9, 1952.

The Embassy of Canada in Washington, D.C. (French: Ambassade du Canada à Washington, D.C.) is Canada's main diplomatic mission to the United States. The embassy building designed by Arthur Erickson and opened in 1989 is located at 501 Pennsylvania Avenue Northwest, Washington, D.C., between the United States Capitol and the White House, just north of the National Gallery of Art. In addition to its diplomatic role, the embassy provides consular services for Delaware, Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia. It also hosts a Trade Commissioner Service office, which has Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, and West Virginia as its responsibilities.

Man Controlling Trade is the name given to two monumental equestrian statues created by Michael Lantz for the Federal Trade Commission Building in Washington, D.C. under the United States Department of the Treasury Section of Painting and Sculpture. The works were dedicated in 1942. Each of the two limestone groups is approximately 12 feet tall and 16 feet long. In July 1937 the Section of Painting and Sculpture announced an open competition to design and execute two large sculptures for the Federal Trade Commission Building. The competition attracted over 500 models from 234 sculptors,

The Pennsylvania North is a high-rise building located in Washington, D.C., United States. The building was constructed in 1990. The building rises to 160 feet (49 m), containing 14 floors. The architect of the building was Hartman-Cox Architects. The building serves as an office use building.

Fiola is an Italian restaurant located in Washington, D.C. that opened in 2011. It has received positive reviews in The Washington Post. It is one of several restaurants owned by the couple Fabio and Maria Trabocchi in the city. The Trabocchis have announced plans to open a second location in Miami.Located on Pennsylvania Avenue between the United States Capitol and the White House, U.S. politicians are regularly seen eating at Fiola, including President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. In September 2018, at the height of the controversy over the Brett Kavanaugh Supreme Court nomination, Senator Ted Cruz and his wife were confronted by protesters at the restaurant, after which they left. This led to criticism on websites such as Yelp.

James A. Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, was shot at the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station in Washington, D.C., at 9:30 am on Saturday, July 2, 1881. He died in Elberon, New Jersey, 79 days later on September 19, 1881. The shooting occurred less than four months into his term as president. Garfield's assassin was Charles J. Guiteau, who wanted revenge against Garfield for an imagined political debt and to elevate Chester A. Arthur to the presidency. Guiteau was convicted of Garfield's murder and executed by hanging one year after the shooting.

John Marshall Park is a park located in the Judiciary Square neighborhood of Washington, D.C. The park is in honor of John Marshall, a U.S. Representative (1799-1800), Secretary of State (1800-1801), and the fourth Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (1801–1835). A cast of the sculpture Chief Justice John Marshall, sculpted by William Wetmore Story in 1883, is situated on the north end of the park. Playing chess was "a favorite pastime" of Marshall. The sculpture The Chess Players is located on the east side of the park.

They have proposed linking a ban on abortions after 20 weeks of gestation to increased support for pregnant women and mothers, such as paid medical leave and/or more support for affordable day care.

The Baltimore and Potomac Railroad Station, also known as Pennsylvania Railroad Station, was a railroad station that was owned by the Pennsylvania Railroad and operated by the Baltimore and Potomac Railroad in Washington, D.C., from July 2, 1872 until its closure in 1907. It was located at the southern corner of 6th street NW and B Street NW (now Constitution Avenue), now the site of the West Building of the National Gallery of Art. It was in this train station that United States President James A. Garfield was assassinated by Charles Guiteau.

The Bust of Francesco Barberini is a marble sculpture by the Italian artist Gian Lorenzo Bernini, now in the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. It was executed in 1623. It was commissioned by Pope Urban VIII, who was a nephew of Francesco Barberini, an apostolic protonotary. Francesco had died in 1600, so Bernini created the bust from an existing painted portrait. That portrait is in the Corsini Collection in Florence; Bernini made close use of the design, although the painting was a three-quarter portrait as opposed to a bust of head, shoulders, and upper body.
