Church of St Peter, Pertenhall

Pertenhall is a small village and civil parish located in Bedfordshire, close to the borders of Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire. Its parish council is a Quality Parish Council. It has recently published its Parish Plan which is available on the website The name derives from Peters Hill (allegedly) based on the Hill by St Peters Church. The parish of Pertenhall & Swineshead is part of the Stodden Hundred (which comprises Bolnhurst, Clapham, Dean and Shelton, Keysoe, Knotting, Little Staughton, Melchbourne, Milton Ernest, Oakley, Pertenhall, Riseley, Shelton, Tilbrook and Yelden). The village is drawn out along the B660 beginning with Chapel Yard, derived from the Moravian Chapel located there and is characterised by a series of 'Ends', namely Wood End (a cul-de-sac, terminating at a footpath known locally as 'the Track', Chadwell End (a thoroughfare), derived from the Chad Well that exists nearby and leading to Green End at the south.

Keysoe is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Bolnhurst and Keysoe, in the Bedford district, in the ceremonial county of Bedfordshire, England. In 1931 the parish had a population of 432. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished to form "Bolnhurst and Keysoe".Historically part of the Stodden hundred in Bedfordshire, part of Keysoe was originally located in Huntingdonshire. The Church of St Mary the Virgin is located in the village. The Keysoe International equestrian centre is based in Keysoe. The centre is a club and venue for horse sport events and training. The venue was used by equestrian teams training for the 2012 Summer Olympics and 2012 Summer Paralympics. 15 teams from around the world used Bedford Borough as their training base in preparation for the games.

Church of St Mary the Virgin is a Grade I listed church in Keysoe, Bedfordshire, England. It became a listed building on 13 July 1964. Features of interest include the prominent spire, the 14th- and 15th-century roofs and the 14th-century font.According to local legend, a builder named William Dickens was working on the steeple in 1718 when he slipped and fell. It is said that he was miraculously saved by reciting a prayer in mid-air.
