Lincolnia is a census-designated place (CDP) in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States. The population was 22,828 at the 2010 census, an increase of over 44% from 2000.

The Landmark Mall (or Landmark Regional Shopping Center) was an American shopping mall. Located in a triangle formed by Duke Street (Virginia State Route 236), Interstate 395, and Van Dorn Street (Virginia State Route 401) in Alexandria, Virginia, the mall opened in 1965 and closed on January 31, 2017. The mall was anchored by Sears, Lord & Taylor and Macy's.

Green Spring Gardens (31 acres) is a public park, including a historic 18th-century plantation house "Green Spring", which is the heart of a national historic district listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. The Fairfax County Park Authority operates Green Spring with the assistance of various nonprofit organizations concerned with history and gardening. The Holmes Run Trail is a partially paved trail that travels through parks northwest along Holmes Run from Cameron Run in Alexandria, Virginia to Annandale Road (Virginia State Route 649) in Fairfax County, Virginia. The trail travels near the sides of the stream with multiple bridges, some of which are only about a foot higher than the water. The trail consists of two sections that are separated by Lake Barcroft near Columbia Pike (Virginia State Route 244) in Fairfax County. The Alexandria portion of the trail is 2.6 miles (4.2 km) in length and travels northwest in Alexandria from Eisenhower Avenue at Cameron Run, next to Cameron Run Regional Park, to the Alexandria/Fairfax County boundary near the end of North Chambliss Street. The Fairfax County portion of the trail travels northwest between that boundary and Columbia Pike and is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) in length. A bridge over the Run in Alexandria that is located a short distance southeast of the boundary and Fairfax County's Glen Hills Park connects these two portions of the trail, which together comprise the trail's entire 3.8-mile-long (6.1 km) southern section. The northern section of the trail is 1.2 miles (1.9 km) in length and located entirely in Fairfax County. It has an asphalt surface in some places and a stonedust surface in others.

Van Dorn Street is a Washington Metro station straddling the boundary between Fairfax County and the independent city of Alexandria in Virginia, United States. The station’s island platform lies in unincorporated Rose Hill in Fairfax County, while the station’s entrance and parking facilities are in Alexandria. The station was opened on June 15, 1991, and is operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA). Providing service for the Blue Line, the station is located at South Van Dorn Street and Eisenhower Avenue, next to the Capital Beltway. From 1991 to 1997 it was the southwestern terminus of the Blue Line.

Leary School of Alexandria, Virginia, is one of two campuses operated by the Lincolnia Educational Foundation, Inc., a non-public, non-profit organization. The other campus is located in Oxon Hill, Maryland. The Leary Schools are special schools that together serve over 200 students with emotional, behavioral and learning problems annually. Timber Ridge School, a residential treatment center in Cross Junction, Virginia, exists for boys age 10-17 requiring treatment in a 24-hour-a-day environment.

Cameron Station was the location of the Defense Logistics Agency in Alexandria, Virginia (as well as the smaller Defense Contract Audit Agency, until its closure by the 1988 Base Realignment and Closure Commission.The BRAC report can be found here.

Holmes Run is a stream in the Cameron Run Watershed in Northern Virginia. It runs through Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria. It is a first-order tributary of the Potomac River. Its headwater is near the junction of I-495 and I-66. It crosses the region in a southeasterly direction for ten and a half miles until it merges with Backlick Run to form Cameron Run. Cameron Run becomes Hunting Creek and empties into the Potomac River just south of the Woodrow Wilson Bridge. In 1913–1915 the Alexandria Water Company built a dam on Holmes Run in order to create Lake Barcroft as a potable water reservoir for Alexandria. In the early post-war era, Alexandria began to exceed the capacity of Lake Barcroft and in 1949 discontinued its use in favor of Occoquan Reservoir.

The Mark Center Building is a United States military installation and office building in Alexandria, Virginia. It is operated by the Washington Headquarters Services (WHS) of the United States Department of Defense (DoD), and provides office space for several other DoD agencies. The name of the site refers to the "Mark Center" property development in which it is located, at the intersection of Seminary Road and Beauregard Street at the Interstate 395 interchange.Sixteen acres of the site were sold to the federal government and are administratively considered part of Fort Belvoir. It is the tallest building constructed by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Francis C. Hammond Middle School in Alexandria, Virginia, is located at 4646 Seminary Road in the west end of the city. Opened as a four-year high school in 1956, it was named after Alexandria native Francis Hammond (1931–1953), a U.S. Navy hospital corpsman who was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions in the Korean War.Francis C. Hammond Middle School applied to be part of the International Baccalaureate program in 2010. It has since ended its involvement.

Thomas Jefferson High School was a public high school in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States; it had an Alexandria mailing address but was outside of the Alexandria city limits. A part of the Fairfax County Public Schools, it opened in 1964 and closed in 1987. The school was co-located with the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology from 1985–1987. It stopped accepting new students after 1985, and merged with Annandale High School for the 1987–1988 school year. No students from Jefferson or TJHSST graduated in 1988. Students who had attended TJ from 1984 to 1987 graduated from Annandale HS in 1988.

Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (also known as TJHSST, TJ, or Jefferson) is a Virginia state-chartered magnet school in Fairfax County, Virginia. It is routinely rated among the best public high schools in the United States. It is a regional high school operated by Fairfax County Public Schools. The selective admissions program was initiated in 1985 through the cooperation of state and county governments, as well as corporate sponsorship from the defense and technology industries. The school occupies the building of the previous Thomas Jefferson High School (constructed in 1965). It is one of 18 Virginia Governor's Schools, and a founding member of the National Consortium for Specialized Secondary Schools of Mathematics, Science and Technology. In 2016, the school placed first in Newsweek's annual "America's Top High Schools" rankings for the third consecutive year and fifth in US News & World Report's 2016 High School Rankings.Attendance at the school is open to students in six local jurisdictions based on prior academic achievement, recommendations, and essays. TJ removed the application fee, as well as the math and reading sections of its exam from its selection process in October 2020, while still retaining a written portion, which includes an essay and short response sections about the student.
