Whispering Pines is a neighborhood located in Appleton, Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States.

ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Appleton, formerly Appleton Medical Center (1984–2015), and Appleton Memorial Hospital (1958–1984), serves the northern side of the city of Appleton, Wisconsin. The hospital was chartered by the State of Wisconsin in 1949. After a 12-year fundraising effort, Appleton Memorial Hospital opened in 1958. The hospital was renamed Appleton Medical Center in 1984. In 1987, this hospital merged financially with ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Neenah to form the Novus Health Group, now called ThedaCare.

Appleton North High School is a comprehensive secondary school in Appleton, Wisconsin that is part of the Appleton Area School District. Opened in August 1995, it is the most recently built of the three four-year public high schools in the district. The school has 1,780 students. The school colors are gold, silver and navy blue. The school's nickname is the Lightning.

Fox Valley Lutheran High School (FVLHS or FVL) is a private, Lutheran, co-educational high school in Appleton, Wisconsin, United States. It was established in 1953 and is owned by a group of congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS).

Appleton (Menominee: Ahkōnemeh) is a city in Outagamie, Calumet, and Winnebago counties in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. One of the Fox Cities, it is situated on the Fox River, 30 miles (48 km) southwest of Green Bay and 100 miles (160 km) north of Milwaukee. Appleton is the county seat of Outagamie County. As of the 2020 Census it had a population of 75,644, making it the sixth-most populous city in Wisconsin. Appleton is a part of the Fox Cities metropolitan area, the third-largest metro area in the state. Appleton serves as the heart of the Fox River Valley, which is home to Lawrence University, the Fox Cities Exhibition Center, Fox Cities Performing Arts Center, Fox River Mall, Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium, Appleton International Airport, and the Valley's two major hospitals: St. Elizabeth Hospital and ThedaCare Regional Medical Center–Appleton. It also hosts regional events such as Octoberfest and the Mile of Music.

Zion Lutheran Church is a church in Appleton, Wisconsin affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 for its architectural significance.

Darboy is an unincorporated community in Outagamie County in the Fox Cities area of the U.S. state of Wisconsin. Located in the town of Buchanan, Darboy extends from the Calumet County line on the south, Highway CE on the north, State Park Road on the east, and Highway 441 on the west. Prior to 2013, Darboy extended south in Calumet County to Manitowoc Road in the town of Harrison; however, this part of Darboy became part of the village of Harrison upon its incorporation.

The Temple Zion and School is a former Jewish synagogue located at 320 North Durkee Street, and a Jewish day school located at 309 East Harris Street, both in Appleton, Wisconsin, in the United States. The synagogue was built in 1883 and was subsequently used as a church from 1932 until 1977; when it was sold to the Outagamie County Historical Society for use as a history museum. In 1999 the former synagogue and school were acquired by interested associated with the Wahl family. In 1978, the former temple and school were added to the National Register of Historic Places.

Lawesburg was an unincorporated community in Outagamie County, Wisconsin, United States. Located in the City of Appleton, the site was incorporated into the Village of Appleton in 1853 and is now part of the city of Appleton. The surviving buildings from Lawesburg are protected and are listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church is a Lutheran church in Appleton, Wisconsin, affiliated with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod.The building was constructed in 1907. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008 for its architectural significance.

All Saints Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church in Appleton, Wisconsin. A parish in the Diocese of Fond du Lac, it is the only Episcopal church in Appleton. The congregation first met circa 1854 and organized in 1856. The current church building was consecrated in 1905.

The History Museum at the Castle is a local history museum located in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin across College Avenue from Lawrence University. Owned and operated by the Outagamie County Historical Society (OCHS), the museum has previously operated under the names The Outagamie Museum and The Houdini Historic Center. The building was earlier known as Masonic Temple. In 2018 the museum was a recipient of the 2018 National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the highest honor given to a museum or library in the United States.
