Portscatho (Cornish: Porthskathow) is a coastal village on the Roseland Peninsula in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The village adjoins Gerrans (the villages have almost merged into one but retain their identities) on the east side of the peninsula, about seven miles (11 km) south-southeast of Truro. It has an estimated population of 1,500 people. Portscatho lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). The name Portscatho comes from the Cornish language words porth, meaning 'harbour' or 'cove', and skathow, meaning 'boats'.

The village adjoins Portscatho (the villages have almost merged into one but retain their identities) on the east side of the peninsula. The village is situated approximately seven miles (11 km) south-southeast of Truro.The name Gerrans derives from Gerent, a 6th-century Cornish saint. The parish runs north–south along the eastern side of the Roseland peninsula. It is bounded to the south and east by the sea, to the west by St Just in Roseland parish, and to the north by Philleigh parish. The population was 933 in the 2001 census, reducing to 794 at the 2011 census. Trewithian is the only settlement of any size in the parish apart from Gerrans and Portscatho. Gerrans lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The Roseland Peninsula, or just Roseland, (Cornish: Ros, meaning promontory) is a district of west Cornwall, England. Roseland is located in the south of the county and contains the town of St Mawes and villages such as St Just and Gerrans. It is a peninsula, separated from the remainder of Cornwall by the River Fal (on the east is the English Channel). Where the peninsula begins continues to be a point of discussion amongst local historians and long-time Roseland inhabitants. The village of Tregony might be considered to be outside the Roseland. If travelling by road one enters the Roseland at the bottom of Tregony Hill by either driving up Reskivers Hill to take the road to St. Mawes and Gerrans, or by taking the lower road to Ruan Lanihorne. One of Britain's most infamous unsolved murders was committed on the peninsula in 1998. 41-year-old Lyn Bryant was randomly and repeatedly stabbed while walking her dog in Ruan High Lanes on 20 October 1998. Her attacker has never been identified despite one of the longest-running and largest ever investigations by Devon and Cornwall Police, although the killer's DNA was isolated in 2018. There remains a £10,000 reward for information leading to the capture of her killer. Until 2021 there was a Roseland electoral division of Cornwall Council which also covered St Mawes, the population of which at the 2011 census was 3,375.

Zone Point (Cornish: Sawan Hir, meaning long chasm) is the southernmost extremity of the Roseland peninsula extending into Falmouth Bay near St Mawes in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom at grid reference SW8430. It is approximately 500 metres (550 yards) east-southeast of the St. Anthony's Lighthouse on St Anthony Head. The cliffs make the beach between Zone Point and St Anthony Head inaccessible from land and the small bay is the site of many Atlantic grey seal sightings; Atlantic grey seal pups can be seen on this beach from the headland and the sea. The top of Zone Point is pasture with scrubby slopes. The South West Coast Path marks the transition between the two ecotypes. The origin of the name Zone Point first appears in the 1597 map of the River Fal by Baptista Boazio as Savenheer, or the long coved point.

St Mawes' (Cornish: Lannvowsedh) is a village on the end of the Roseland Peninsula, in the eastern side of Falmouth harbour, on the south coast of Cornwall, England. The village, formerly two separate hamlets, lies on the east bank of the Carrick Roads, a large waterway created after the Ice Age from an ancient valley which flooded as the melt waters caused the sea level to rise. The immense natural harbour thus created is claimed to be the third largest in the world. St Mawes was once a busy fishing port, but the trade declined during the 20th century and the village now serves as a popular tourist location, with many properties functioning as holiday accommodation. The village is in the civil parish of St Just in Roseland and lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
