Banque Cantonale Neuchâteloise is a Swiss cantonal bank which is part of the 24 cantonal banks serving Switzerland's 26 cantons. The Neuchâtel tramway (French: Tramway de Neuchâtel, or (locally) Tram) is a tramway forming part of the public transport system in Neuchâtel, a city in Switzerland. Opened in 1892, the tramway has waxed and waned over the years. Currently, it comprises only one 8.85 km (5.50 mi) long interurban line, which runs via Auvernier and Colombier to Boudry, and is designated as line 5. All of the system's urban tram lines were converted to trolleybuses, the last such closure and conversion taking place in 1976, leaving just interurban line 5 (present line 215). The tramway is currently operated by Transports publics Neuchâtelois (formerly Compagnie des Tramways de Neuchâtel) (TN), which also runs three funiculars, the Neuchâtel trolleybus system and various conventional bus lines.

Neuchâtel District was one of the six districts of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland, until the district level was eliminated on 1 January 2018. The district capital was the town of Neuchâtel. It had a population of 53,744.

The Musée d'ethnographie de Neuchâtel is a museum of ethnography in Neuchâtel, Neuchâtel Canton, Switzerland established in 1904. Its origin is in the "natural history" collections of Charles-Daniel de Meuron. It has been accommodated since 1904 in the Villa James de Pury, the former residence of James-Ferdinand de Pury. It presents permanent exhibitions on Ancient Egypt, on the Himalayas (collections from Bhutan and Tibet), the cabinet of natural history of the 18th-century general Charles-Daniel de Meuron and the cabinet of curiosities of the 20th century. From 2015 to 2017 the Villa de Pury was completely renovated. The reference exhibition L'impermanence des choses (the impermanence of things) was inaugurated on November 25th, 2017.

The Hôtel DuPeyrou (DuPeyrou Palace) is a mansion in the city of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The relatively large Swiss mansion was built between 1765 and 1771 for Pierre-Alexandre DuPeyrou (1729–1794) by the Bernese architect Erasme Ritter (1726–1805). The still mainly original interior of the mansion was executed by highly skilled craftsmen. The faience stoves were delivered by the Frisching Faience Manufactory from Bern. DuPeyrou was immensely rich. His fortune derived from his two slave plantations in Suriname where he was born and where his father was in a high position within the Court of Justice. DuPeyrou was a close friend of Jean-Jacques Rousseau. It was DuPeyrou who paid the costs for the first publishing of the complete works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau in 1788 in Geneva. DuPeyrou and his wife, Henriette Dorothée de Pury (1750–1818), had no children. In 1799 the mansion was sold to Frédéric de Pourtalès. Afterwards the mansion changed hands several times. In 1858 the city of Neuchâtel bought the mansion and restored it to its former glory. Today the Hôtel DuPeyrou contains a restaurant and it is also used for ceremonial events by the city.

The musée d'art et d'histoire (Museum of Art and History) is a museum in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Among its exhibits are the Jaquet-Droz automata. The collections of paintings include works of Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and Pierre-Auguste Renoir.The museum's stairwell features three monumental murals painted by Léo-Paul Robert between 1886 and 1894.

Neuchâtel railway station (French: Gare de Neuchâtel) serves the municipality of Neuchâtel, the capital city of the canton of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. Opened in 1857, it is owned and operated by SBB-CFF-FFS. The station forms part of one of Switzerland's most important railway lines, the Jura foot railway (Olten–Genève-Aéroport), which is one of two routes used by intercity trains between Geneva and Zürich. It is also a junction for SBB-CFF-FFS lines to Le Locle and Pontarlier, and for the BLS line from Bern.

The apparel company heidi.com established its headquarters in the city. The official language of Neuchâtel is French. Neuchâtel is a pilot of the Council of Europe and the European Commission Intercultural Cities programme.

The Fun'ambule is a funicular railway in the city of Neuchâtel in the Swiss canton of Neuchâtel. The line runs in tunnel and links the lower part of the town, near the University, to the railway station in the upper part.

The University of Neuchâtel (UniNE) is a French-speaking university based in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. The university has four faculties (schools) and more than a dozen institutes, including arts and human sciences, natural sciences, law and economics. The Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences, with 2,000 students, is the largest school of those that comprise the University of Neuchâtel. The university has an annual budget of CHF 144 million and an annual research fund of CHF 40 million. Approximately 4,000 students, including 600 PhD students attend the university, and more than 600 diplomas, licences, doctorates and certificates are awarded each year. The university has more than 1,100 employees.

Neuchâtel Junior College (or NJC) is a private international school located in the French-speaking town of Neuchâtel, Switzerland. It is a member of Canadian Accredited Independent Schools.

The Federal Statistical Office (FSO) is a Federal agency of the Swiss Confederation. It is the statistics office of Switzerland, situated in Neuchâtel and attached to the Federal Department of Home Affairs.The Federal Statistical Office is the national service provider and competence centre for statistical observations in areas of national, social, economic and environmental importance. The FSO is the main producer of statistics in the country and runs the Swiss Statistics data pool. It provides information on all subject areas covered by official statistics. The office is closely linked to the national statistics scene as well as to partners in the worlds of science, business and politics. It works closely with Eurostat, the Statistics Office of the European Union, in order to provide information that is also comparable at an international level. The key principles upheld by the office throughout its statistical activities are data protection, scientific reliability, impartiality, topicality and service orientation.
