Coedffranc West

Briton Ferry West is an electoral ward of Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales. Briton Ferry West falls within the parish of Briton Ferry. Briton Ferry West consists of some or all of the districts of Brynhyfryd, Giant's Grave, Shelone and Warren Hill in the parliamentary constituency of Aberavon. It is bounded by the wards of Coedffranc West to the west; Neath East to the northeast; Briton Ferry East to the east and Baglan to the south. The ward consists of marshland to the northwest, a residential district in the middle and industrial land to the southwest.

Jersey Marine is a village in Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales, UK located about 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Swansea. It falls within the Coedffranc West ward. Jersey Marine is centered on a main road formed by Ashleigh Terrace, coming from a junction with the A483 road (Fabian Way), which curves to the east along New Road leading to Llandarcy. The A483, Fabian Way, is normally considered the gateway into Swansea City Centre, therefore it is mistakenly thought that the area is part of the city of Swansea despite the village being part of Neath Port Talbot. The local primary school in the village is Crymlyn Primary School. Secondary school age children attend school in Neath, not Swansea. The village includes the Pant y Sais Nature Reserve, a fen area featuring a circular boardwalk which connects with the tow path of the Tennant Canal. A new 800,000 sq ft (74,000 m2) distribution centre for Amazon.co.uk is sited south of the village on the site of a former cable manufacturing plant. It opened on 16 April 2008.[1]

Briton Ferry Road railway station served the town of Briton Ferry, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1863 to 1936 on the Vale of Neath Railway. Nearby was Llandarcy Oil Refinery.

Jersey Marine railway station was a railway station on the Rhondda and Swansea Bay line (R&SBR) which ran from the Rhondda Valley to Swansea on the Welsh coast in the county of Glamorgan. It lay 3 miles (4.8 km) east of Swansea.

Baldwins Halt railway station served the area of Crymlyn Burrows, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1924 to 1933 on the Rhondda and Swansea Bay Railway.

The Swansea Urban Area or Swansea Built-up Area is an area of land in south Wales, defined by the Office for National Statistics for population monitoring purposes. It is an urban conurbation and is not coterminous with the City and County of Swansea. It consists of the urban area centred on Swansea city centre; the Swansea Valley including Clydach, Ystradgynlais and Pontardawe; and includes Neath and Port Talbot which are outside the county boundaries, but excludes the urban area of Gorseinon within the county boundaries. The total population of the area in 2011 was 300,352 making it the 3rd largest in Wales, the 24th largest conurbation in England and Wales and the 27th largest in the United Kingdom. This was an increase of 11% from the 2001 figure of 270,506. Most of the increase was due to Ystradgynlais, Gowerton, Upper Killay and Glais becoming part of the urban area.

The Llandarcy Oil Refinery, also known as the National Oil Refinery, BP Llandarcy and Skewen refinery, was the United Kingdom's first oil refinery, initially opened by the Anglo-Persian Oil Company (renamed the Anglo-Iranian Oil Company from 1935 and the British Petroleum Company from 1954) on 29 June 1922, although operations had begun on 1 July 1921. Before this, the only oil refined in the UK came from Scottish shale.

Coedffranc is a village in the county borough of Neath Port Talbot, Wales. Today it has merged into an enlarged Skewen, occupying the central regions of the village of Skewen. Coedffranc is also a local government community. The community includes the villages of Jersey Marine, Llandarcy and Coed Darcy. and had a population of 9,053 in 2011.

Coed Darcy is a new village currently being developed adjacent to Llandarcy in Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales.

Llandarcy is a village near Neath in the Neath Port Talbot county borough, Wales, and was the site of the first oil refinery in the United Kingdom. It was originally designed as a garden village to house the workers for the BP refinery built between 1918 and 1922. The village is near junction 43 of the M4 motorway.

BP Oil Refinery Ltd Ground is a cricket ground in Llandarcy, Neath Port Talbot, Wales. The first recorded match on the ground was in 1950, when the Glamorgan Second XI played the Gloucestershire Second XI in the 1950 Minor Counties Championship. The ground has held a further 19 Second XI fixtures for the Glamorgan Second XI in both the Second XI Championship and Second XI Trophy.Glamorgan played Oxford University in a first-class match in 1971, the only first-class match that the ground has held.In local domestic cricket, the ground is the home venue of Llandarcy Cricket Club.

Ynysygerwn Football Club is a Welsh football club based in Aberdulais, situated approximately two miles from Neath town centre. The club currently competes in the Ardal Leagues South West, the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid. Ynysygerwn has three senior football sides along with a youth academy which runs teams from Under 6s to Under 18s. The first team currently play their home games at Llandarcy Academy of Sport, the training ground of the Ospreys rugby union team, while the rest of the teams play at Ynysygerwn Cricket Club. The club's president is Tottenham Hotspur and Wales player Ben Davies.
