Thacher Island National Wildlife Refuge is a National Wildlife Refuge located on Thacher Island near Rockport, Massachusetts. It is managed under the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service currently does not offer any interpretive facilities or programs at Thacher Island Refuge. A foot trail meanders through shrub/thicket, rocky outcrop and other island habitats and affords opportunities to observe and/or photograph birds and other island and offshore wildlife. The refuge has a surface area of 22 acres (0.089 km2).

The David Gray House is a historic house in Andover, Massachusetts, United States. The 2+1⁄2-story colonial was built for David Gray, a local farmer, in about 1812, and it remained in his family until the 1930s. It is five bays wide, with a side gable roof, central chimney, and a projecting entry vestibule that has a door surround consisting of a pedimented top and fluted pilasters on the sides. Additions extend the house to the left.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Thacher Island is a small island off Cape Ann on the Massachusetts coast in the United States. It is a part of the Town of Rockport. It was a place where some naval confrontations, both minor and major, took place, which helped secure a victory for the colonists.

The Straitsmouth Island Light is a lighthouse located on Straitsmouth Island, in Rockport, Massachusetts. The original tower was built in 1835, and replaced by a second tower in 1896. It was automated in 1967, and is still in operation. The United States Coast Guard Light List description is "White cylindrical tower". The actual light is 46 feet (14 meters) above Mean High Water. The Light List name is "Straightsmouth Light", but the island is "Straitsmouth Island" on NOAA charts. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places as the Straitsmouth Island Light in 1987.Straitsmouth Island was owned for many years by the naval architect William Francis Gibbs and his wife, New York socialite and opera supporter, Vera Cravath Gibbs. The island was left to the Massachusetts Audubon Society following the Gibbses' deaths in the 1960s.

Old Stone Fort was a fort that existed in 1814 in Rockport, Massachusetts during the War of 1812. It was also known as Sea Fensibles Barrack during its existence. Today, a plaque is located on the Transit Tower, which was built on the site of the fort. Stones from the former fort were used in the construction of the harbor's breakwater.

Motif Number 1, located on Bradley Wharf in the harbor town of Rockport, Massachusetts, is a replica of a former fishing shack well known to students of art and art history as "the most often-painted building in America." The original structure was built in 1840 and destroyed in the Blizzard of 1978, but an exact replica was constructed that same year.Built in the 1840s as Rockport was becoming home to a colony of artists and settlement of fishermen, the shack became a favorite subject of painters due to the composition and lighting of its location as well as being a symbol of New England maritime life. Painter Lester Hornby (1882–1956) is believed to be the first to call the shack "Motif Number 1," a reference to its being the favorite subject of the town's painters, and the name achieved general acceptance. It appeared in the work of Aldro Hibbard and of impressionist Harry Aiken Vincent who arrived in Rockport in 1917.In the 1930s, painter John Buckley used the shack as his studio. He sold it to the town in 1945, dedicated "In 1945, the town of Rockport purchased the Motif as a monument to Rockporters who had served in the Armed Services." The town, recognizing its iconic value, has taken pains to preserve both its structure and appearance, finding a red paint which appears weather-beaten even when new, and keeping the area clear of overhead wires, traffic signs and advertising.

The Rockport Downtown Main Street Historic District encompasses part of the historic center of Rockport, Massachusetts. The district extends along Main Street, from its junction with Beach Street in the west to just east of its junction with School Street. The area is just west of Rockport's noted Bearskin Neck area. Most of the 28 properties in the district are commercial buildings; there are also three churches, a library, and a number of residences. Only a few of these properties front on the side streets adjacent to Main Street; all abut Main Street. The central focal point of the district is the First Congregational Church, built 1803, and the adjacent Federal style Jewett House, a pastor's residence built in 1806. Most of the commercial buildings are modest in scale (two or three stories), and are in a variety of building styles popular in the 19th century.The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.
