Horgen railway station

Horgen is a municipality in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland. It is one of the larger towns along the south bank of the Lake of Zurich. On 1 January 2018 the former municipality of Hirzel merged into the municipality of Horgen.

Horgen Oberdorf railway station (German: Horgen Oberdorf) is a railway station in Switzerland, situated in the town of Horgen. The station is located on the Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway and is served by the S24 line of the Zürich S-Bahn.Horgen station should not be confused with the nearby, but lower level, Horgen railway station, which is on the Lake Zürich left bank railway line. The two stations are approximately 0.9 kilometres (0.56 mi) apart on foot.

Bocken Estate (German: Landgut Bocken) is a country estate in the municipality of Horgen of the Swiss canton of Zurich. It is a Swiss heritage site of national significance.From 1912 on Alfred Emil Schwarzenbach, a wealthy businessman in the silk industry and his wife Renée Schwarzenbach-Wille, horsewoman and amateur photographer, lived here with their family of five children. One of their daughters, novelist, travel journalist and photographer Annemarie Schwarzenbach grew up on the estate.

Oberrieden railway station is a railway station in Switzerland, situated on the banks of Lake Zurich in the town of Oberrieden. The station is located on the Lake Zurich left bank railway line and is served by line S8 of the Zurich S-Bahn.The station has two side platforms, serving the two tracks passing through the station. The principal station building is to the west of the railway, whilst on the opposite side of the tracks is the goods shed, dating from 1874 and a class B regional property in the Swiss Inventory of Cultural Property of National and Regional Significance.Oberrieden station should not be confused with the nearby, but higher level, Oberrieden Dorf railway station, which is on the Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway. Horgen District is a district of Canton of Zürich in Switzerland. The district is located in the Zimmerberg and Sihl Valley region on the left shore of Lake Zürich; its district capital is Horgen. In the northern part of the district, the municipalities have grown together with the city of Zürich, while in the south-western part, the Sihlwald is the largest contiguous natural mixed deciduous forest on the Swiss Plateau. The district consists of 11 municipalities and has a population of 127,263 (as of 31 December 2020) and an area of 104.16 km2 (40.22 sq mi).

Herrliberg is a municipality in the district of Meilen in the canton of Zürich in Switzerland.

Sihlbrugg is a former railway station in the Swiss Canton of Zürich. It was closed permanently in December 2012, and there are no passenger trains scheduled to stop at the station since then. The station was the terminus of the Sihltal line of SZU (ZVV S4) from 1897 to 2006. Although named after the hamlet of Sihlbrugg, the station is actually located nearly 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) north of the village, in the municipality of Horgen.The station was a junction point between the Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) Thalwil–Arth-Goldau railway, which connects Zug and Zürich Hauptbahnhof, and the Sihltal Zürich Uetliberg Bahn (SZU) line to Zürich via Sihlwald. The SBB line carried both suburban and longer distance services, and the station used to be served by line S21 of the Zürich S-Bahn. The suburban service on the SZU line between Sihlbrugg and Sihlwald was suspended in 2006, and that stretch of line no longer carries regular passenger services.In the summer months, the station is served occasionally by the Zürcher Museums-Bahn heritage railway.

Sihl Valley (German: Sihltal) is a river valley and belongs to the Zimmerberg-Sihltal region located in the district of Horgen in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland. Commonly Sihltal is used as the name of the Lower Sihl Valley, i.e. the area in the southwest of the city of Zürich.
