Pallikondeswara Temple, Surutupalle

Thyagaraja Temple (also called as Vadivudai Amman Temple) is a Hindu temple dedicated to Hindu god Shiva. It is located in Tiruvottiyur in the northern part of Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. The temple is revered by the Tevaram hymns of Saiva nayanars, the 7th century Tamil saint poets and classified as Paadal Petra Sthalam. All the Three of Thevaram Moovar (Appar, Samandar and Sundarar) has rendered Thevaram songs in this temple. The temple is closely associated with the saint poet Sundarar and Pattinathar. The temple has been in vogue from the Pallava times of the 7th century and widely expanded by Chola kings during the 11th century. The temple has a seven tiered gateway tower, a tank, with the overall temple area covering 1 acre. The temple is administered by the Hindu Religious and Endowment Board of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The temple draws parallel with the Thygaraja temple in Tiruvarur as both the temples were expanded by Rajendra Chola I and both have the same dance poses of Shiva. The temple is one of the 51 Sakthi Peetams in the country.The temple is also one of the Sakthi triad in the region of Tondaimandalam, the other two being the Kodiyidai Amman Temple or Masilamaniswara Temple at Thirumullaivoyal and the Thiruvudai Amman Temple or Thirumanangeeswarar Temple at Minjur.

Surutapalle is a village in Chittoor district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located in Nagalapuram mandal of Tirupati revenue division.

The shrines for Navagrahas are installed on a stage designed as lotus petal. Magizham tree is the Thala Virutcham of the temple and Vaikanasam is the pooja.

Sri Ram Dayal Khemka Vivekananda Vidyalaya ( Vivekananda Vidyalaya ) was established in 1982 in Thiruvottiyur and is one of the oldest schools in that region. It is a part of the Vivekananda Educational Society and follows the CBSE curriculum. It started off by acquiring Bala Saraswati Mandir in Tondiarpet in 1974. Land was acquired with the help of Ravi Prakash Khemka in Thiruvottiyur in 1982 where the school now stands. The school has been affiliated with Central board of Secondary Education since 1983.

This station will serve the neighbourhoods of Thiruvottriyur and other northern suburbs of Chennai. This station was inaugurated along with Wimco Nagar Depot Metro Station on March 14, 2022.

Tiruvottriyur (Thiruvottiyur or TVT) is a neighbourhood in North Chennai, administered by the Greater Chennai Corporation. It is part of the Tondiarpet division, located to the north of Chennai. It is one of the fifteen administrative zones in the Greater Chennai Corporation. The zone is called Zone 1 (Tiruvottriyur). Tiruvottriyur has industrial units, trading activity, and nearby fishing hamlets. The area is easily accessible by Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) buses from across the city and has a bus terminus. The area is also served by the Tiruvottiyur railway junction of the Chennai Suburban Railway Network. As of 2011, the neighbourhood had a population of 249,446.

V. O. C. Nagar railway station is one of the railway station if the Chennai Central–Gummidipoondi section of the Chennai Suburban Railway. It was previously known as Tondiarpet Marshalling Yard railway station. It serves the neighbourhood of Tondiarpet, a suburb of Chennai, and is located 6 km north of Chennai Central railway station. It has an elevation of 5 m above sea level. The railway station is mostly used by railway employees since it is very close to many railway establishments. This station is mostly visited by rail fans for rail fanning since it has a big railway yard. Chennai Port Trust ground is close to this railway station. However, it lacks several basic amenities.

New Washermanpet Metro station (formerly Tondiarpet Metro Station) is a Metro railway station on Line 1 Extension of the Chennai Metro. The station is one of the 26 stations along the Blue Line (Chennai Metro) of the Chennai Metro. The station will serve the neighbourhoods of New Washermanpet and other northern suburbs of Chennai.

Vellayan Chettiyar Higher Secondary School is a state board higher secondary school run by the AMM Foundation. It is located in Tiruvottiyur, Chennai, India. Each year students enter higher education institutions such as the Anna University, Medical colleges in Tamil Nadu, Dental and other top engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu. The school was taken over in 1963 by AMM foundation and named after AMM Vellayan Chettiyar. The school is affiliated to Tamil Nadu State Board for classes from 6th to 12th standard.
