Lübeck Hauptbahnhof (German for Lübeck main station) is the main railway station serving the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, in the German state of Schleswig-Holstein. It is a through station at the western edge of the city centre. With around 31,000 travelers and visitors each day, Lübeck Hbf is the busiest of all the railway stations in Schleswig-Holstein. It is classified by the Deutsche Bahn as a category 2 station. The present station building was built in 1908 by the Lübeck-Büchener Eisenbahn (LBE). At that time, the LBE operated most of the railway connections around Lübeck, including the express trains. The station building was designed by Fritz Klingholz, and replaced the previous, outdated building. Lübeck Hbf is a Reiterbahnhof, or station with a reception building laid out as a bridge "riding" over the tracks. Its reception building spans a total of 10 tracks with four platforms. A special feature is its wide wooden steps leading down to the platforms. The station was recently modernised and completely electrified, and is now fully connected with Germany's electric railway network.

The Holsten Gate (Low German and German: Holstentor) is a city gate marking off the western boundary of the old center of the Hanseatic city of Lübeck. Built in 1464, the Brick Gothic construction is one of the relics of Lübeck's medieval city fortifications and one of two remaining city gates, the other being the Citadel Gate ("Burgtor"). Known for its two-round towers and arched entrance, it is regarded today as a symbol of the city. Together with the old city centre (Altstadt) of Lübeck it has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.

The Salzspeicher (salt storehouses), of Lübeck, Germany, are six historic brick buildings on the Upper Trave River next to the Holstentor (the western city gate). Built in the 16th–18th centuries, the houses stored salt that was mined near Lüneburg and brought to Lübeck over the Stecknitz Canal. The salt was then shipped to several ports in the Baltic region, where the commodity was relatively rare, but was in high demand for the preservation of food. The salt trade from the late Middle Ages onward was a major reason for the power of Lübeck and the Hanseatic League. In the course of the centuries, the houses were adapted for the storage of different goods, such as cloth, grain and wood. Part of the complex was used as the residence of Count Orlok in the classic horror movie Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens as well as the remake Nosferatu the Vampyre.

The Lübeck Academy of Music (German: Musikhochschule Lübeck) in Lübeck, Germany, is the only higher level music school in the northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein. The school is located in the World Heritage city of Lübeck, a historic hanseatic city. The school was founded in 1973 but its tradition goes back to 1911. The enrollment is approximately 500 students. The teaching staff includes Shmuel Ashkenasi, Sabine Meyer, James Tocco and others; current president is Rico Gubler. The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival, an annual summer festival devoted to classical music, holds its master classes at the academy. The school is a member of the Baltic Association of Music Academies.

The Fehmarnbelt Lightship (German: Feuerschiff Fehmarnbelt) was built in 1906–1908 at Brake on the River Weser and entered service in 1908 as the lightship Außeneider. Until 1945 it was moored at the position known as Außeneider guarding the estuary of the river Eider on the North Sea coast. In the years from 1956 to 1965 it was a reserve lighthouse in the Baltic Sea and then from 1965 to 1984 it was positioned under its present name in the Fehmarn Belt. Today it belongs to a charitable society and its home port is the Lübeck museum port in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, where it spends the winter months at least. The ship is preserved in working condition and during the summer it is taken to sea in order to test all facilities under sea conditions. Visits on board the lightship are permitted.

The Lübeck Museum of Theatre Puppets (in German: TheaterFigurenMuseum Lübeck) is a museum of international puppetry in the Hanseatic city of Lübeck, Germany.

The Sacred Heart Church (German: Propsteikirche Herz Jesu) is the main Roman Catholic church in Lübeck. It was built in 1888 and consecrated on 10 May 1891.

Lübeck Cathedral (German: Dom zu Lübeck, or colloquially Lübecker Dom) is a large brick-built Lutheran cathedral in Lübeck, Germany and part of the Lübeck World Heritage Site. It was started in 1173 by Henry the Lion as a cathedral for the Bishop of Lübeck. It was partly destroyed in a bombing raid in World War II (1942), when the Arp Schnitger organ was destroyed by fire, but was subsequently reconstructed. It is also famous for works of Bernt Notke and Thomas Quellinus, which survived the bombing raid in 1942. The famous altar by Hans Memling is now in Lübeck's St. Annen Museum. The current church was finished in 1982. In 1873 the Cathedral celebrated its 700th anniversary, when an offshoot of the Lutheran Memorial Beech Tree, in Steinbach near Bad Liebenstein in Thuringia, was planted in the churchyard.

St. Peter's Church (Deutsch: St. Petri zu Lübeck) is a place of worship in Lübeck, Germany, that was first mentioned in 1170. Over the centuries, it was rebuilt several times until construction of the church was completed in the 15th century. During the Second World War, St. Petri suffered severe damage and the restoration was not completed until 1987. Since the furnishings could not be restored, only special services take place in the church. As a city church without a congregation, it is mainly used for cultural and religious events as well as art exhibitions. The effect of the simple space of the five-aisled hall church is very well emphasized by the special architecture. Modern works of art such as the altar cross by the Austrian artist Arnulf Rainer and the illuminated neon cross by Hanna Jäger invite visitors to think.

Stockelsdorf is a municipality in the district of Ostholstein, in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. It is situated directly northwest of Lübeck and forms an agglomeration with the easterly town of Bad Schwartau. The municipality contains the villages of Arfrade, Curau, Dissau, Eckhorst, Horsdorf, Klein Parin, Krumbeck, Malkendorf, Obernwohlde and Pohnsdorf. By measure of population Stockelsdorf is the second largest municipality without town status in Schleswig-Holstein.

The Oberschule zum Dom, a grammar school in Lübeck and the Schleswig-Holstein area of Germany was founded in 1905 during the final years of the German Empire under Kaiser Wilhelm II. The school survived the bombing carried out on the city of Lübeck by the Royal Air Force during the second world war. The School has long been a Gymnasium. It ranks in the top three schools in Lübeck and has always retained a special relationship with archrival the Katharineum zu Lübeck.

The Lohmühle – officially the Dietmar-Scholze-Stadion an der Lohmühle as of the 2020-21 3. Liga season - is a football stadium in Lübeck, Germany. It is the home ground of VfB Lübeck, located in the Holstentor Nord district, which is itself part of the larger St. Lorenz Nord area of the city. After the demolition of the old terracing and construction of the new main stand in 1996, a consequence of the club’s promotion to the 2. Bundesliga the previous year, the stadium now has a capacity of 17,849 seats, of which about 4,400 are covered. For a considerable period prior to the redevelopment of Kiel’s 15,034-seater Holstein-Stadion, the Lohmühle was the largest stadium in Schleswig-Holstein, but due to various restrictions (including fire safety and the requirement for TV and media areas) only around 10,800 seats are currently usable. Between November 2011 and 2013 it was called PokerStars.de – Stadion an der Lohmühle because of a naming rights sponsorship by PokerStars.de.
