Homecroft, Indiana

The Homecroft Historic District is a national historic district bounded roughly by Madison Avenue, Southview Drive, Orinoco Avenue, and Banta Road in Homecroft, Perry Township, Marion County, Indiana. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996.

Old Southport High School, also known as the Old Southport Middle School, is a historic high school building located at Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana. It was built in 1930, and is a two-story, U-shaped, Colonial Revival style steel frame and concrete building sheathed in red brick with limestone detailing. It has a side gabled roof topped by an octagonal cupola. The front facade features a grand portico supported by six Corinthian order columns.: 5 It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003.

Southport High School is a public high school located in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. Located in Perry Township, on the south side of the city, Southport is a part of the Perry Township Schools.

Perry Township is one of the nine townships of Marion County, Indiana, United States, located in the south central part of the county. It was laid out in 1822 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and named after Oliver Hazard Perry – a War of 1812 hero. The township population was 108,972 at the 2010 census. This includes the largest community of Burmese-Americans in the United States, numbering over 24,000. Through the White River, Perry and Decatur townships share the only water boundary among Marion County's townships. Schools in Perry Township include Roncalli, Perry Meridian and Southport high schools.

The Indianapolis Baptist Temple is an Independent Baptist church based in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The church's building was seized by the U.S. federal government after the church refused to withhold taxes from employees' paychecks for 16 years. The founding pastor of the church, Greg J. Dixon, died in October 2019 aged 87.

Greenwood Park Mall is a shopping mall located in Greenwood, Indiana. The mall is the hub of the retail and commercial corridor along U.S. Highway 31 on the south side of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Area. As with several other central Indiana shopping centers, Greenwood Park Mall is owned and operated by Simon Property Group. Greenwood Park Mall has 149 stores. The mall's four anchors are Dick's Sporting Goods, JCPenney, Macy's (originally Lazarus), and Von Maur (originally Blocks, later Montgomery Ward). There is also a Vacant Sears. With 1,287,869 square feet (119,646.9 m2) of total retail area, Greenwood Park Mall is the fourth largest shopping mall in Indiana, after Castleton Square in Indianapolis, Glenbrook Square in Fort Wayne, and Southlake Mall in Merrillville. The mall is managed by Steve Kempe as of 2022. There was also a JCPenney Home Store located near Macy's, which was a former Woolworth.

On July 17, 2022, a mass shooting occurred at the Greenwood Park Mall in Greenwood, Indiana, United States. The shooting occurred at 5:56 p.m. EDT (UTC−04:00) and lasted less than one minute. Three people were killed and two others were injured in the shooting before the perpetrator, 20-year-old Jonathan Sapirman, was fatally shot by 22-year-old Elisjsha Dicken, a legally-armed civilian bystander.

The Richmond Hill explosion took place on November 10, 2012, in the Richmond Hill subdivision in Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The home of Monserrate Shirley was the center of the explosion that resulted in the deaths of next-door neighbors John "Dion" Longworth and his wife Jennifer (née Buxton), the injuries of seven others, and $4 million in property damage. Prosecutors alleged that the natural gas explosion was intentionally set to collect insurance money. Shirley, her boyfriend Mark Leonard, and three others were convicted and sentenced to prison on various charges, including felony murder for Leonard.

Administration Building, Indiana Central University, also known as Good Hall, is a historic building located at the University of Indianapolis, Indianapolis, Indiana (originally called Indiana Central University). It was built in 1904, and is a 3+1⁄2-story, Classical Revival style red-brick building. It measures approximately 127 feet by 150 feet and features a colossal two-story portico supported by Ionic order columns. It has two-story flanking wings and a porte cochere.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

The University of Indianapolis (UIndy) is a private United Methodist Church-affiliated university in Indianapolis, Indiana. It offers Associate, Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctoral degrees. It was founded in 1902 as Indiana Central University and was popularly known as Indiana Central College from 1921 until 1975. In 1986 the name was changed to University of Indianapolis.The main campus is located on the south side of Indianapolis at 1400 East Hanna Avenue, just east of Shelby Street. The campus straddles the Carson Heights and University Heights neighborhoods of Indianapolis. UIndy's international sites include joint programs with Ningbo Institute of Technology, Zhejiang University (China) and Zhejiang Yuexiu University of Foreign Languages (China), and an articulation agreement with University of Nicosia (Cyprus). Previous international sites included the Galen University in Belize.The university's colors are crimson and gray. Its athletic teams, known as the Greyhounds, are members of the Great Lakes Valley Conference (GLVC) in the NCAA Division II.
