Wande (river)

Erpe is a river of Hesse, Germany. It flows into the Twiste near Volkmarsen.

On 24 February 2020, a man rammed his car against a crowd at a carnival parade in Volkmarsen, Hesse, Germany, injuring 88 people. In total, 150 people were considered "negatively affected or traumatized by the incident", and it was later described to the courts as a "miracle" that no one had been killed. The attack came only days after a terrorist attack in Hanau. The perpetrator, 29-year-old Maurice Pahler, was found to have filmed and extensively planned the attack. In 2021, Pahler was sentenced to life in prison for attempted murder with a particular severity of guilt, meaning that he would not be automatically eligible for parole. He refused to give any motive or reasoning for the crime.

The Watter is a 21.9-kilometre-long (13.6 mi) tributary of the Twiste river of Hesse, Germany. It flows into the Twiste near Volkmarsen.

The Twistesee is a reservoir on the Twiste in the county of Waldeck-Frankenberg in North Hesse, Germany.

The Battle of Warburg was fought on 31 July 1760 during the Seven Years' War. The battle was a victory for the Hanoverians and the British against a slightly larger French army. The victory meant the Anglo-German allies had successfully defended Westphalia from the French by preventing a crossing of the Diemel River, but were forced to abandon the allied state of Hesse-Kassel to the south. The fortress of Kassel ultimately fell, and would remain in French hands until the final months of the war, when it was finally recaptured by the Anglo-German allies in late 1762. The British general, John Manners, Marquess of Granby, became famous in the battle for charging at the head of the British cavalry and losing his hat and wig during the charge. The French lost 1500 men, killed and wounded, around 1,500 prisoners and ten pieces of artillery.

Calenberger Bach (also: Fließbach, in its upper course: Ostertalsbach) is a small river of Hesse and North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It flows into the Diemel in Warburg.

The Warburg station (German: Bahnhof Warburg (Westfalen) or Bf Warburg (Westf)) is located on the north-eastern edge of the German town of Warburg. The station was built in 1852 and 1853. Warburg and Minden stations are the last stations from the early railway history of the Prussian province of Westphalia that are still in their original form as island stations (Inselbahnhöfen), with the station entrance buildings located between the tracks.
