The First Street Lofts (formerly the First National Bank and Trust Company Building) is a converted office building located at 460 South Saginaw Street in Flint, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007.

The Genesee County Savings Bank is an office building located at 352 South Saginaw Street in Flint, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2017.The Genesee County Savings Bank was founded in 1872. In 1915, the bank opened a new headquarters at the corner of Kearsley and Saginaw Streets. In 1916, the bank consolidated some business aspects with the First National Bank of Flint. Due to Flint's booming economy, both banks were outgrowing their headquarters, and in 1919, Genesee County Savings Bank constructed this new building only a block from their old headquarters. The building was designed by Hodgson Brothers of New York City. Over the rest of the 1920s, the bank grew tremendously, and in 1957 merged with Merchants & Mechanics Bank to form Genesee Merchants Bank & Trust Co. The bank moved its headquarters to Genesee Towers in 1968. As of 2017, the building was long vacant, and Uptown Development Corporation planned on redeveloping the building into a 100-room hotel. Renovation began in 2019, and was completed in 2020. The building is now home to the Downtown Flint Hilton Garden Inn, an Italian American restaurant, a coffee shop, and a rooftop bar.

The Charles Stewart Mott Foundation Building (formerly the Union Industrial Bank Building) is a 16-story office high-rise building in downtown Flint, Michigan. It is the tallest building in the city. Designed by Wirt C. Rowland in 1928 and opened in 1930, it was built as the Union Industrial Bank Building to serve as the headquarters for Union Industrial Bank. Rowland was considered innovative for his use of two materials in the building's construction: Nirosta (a type of stainless steel) for decorative purposes in the public spaces and aluminum for its storefronts and window frames. In 1944, Charles Stewart Mott bought the building, which has since served as the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation's headquarters and been renamed the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation Building. More recently, the building has appeared in the films Semi-Pro and All's Faire in Love. It is considered one of the most iconic structures in downtown Flint.

The Elks Lodge Building in Flint, Michigan, also known as Old Elks Building, was built in 1913. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Genesee Towers was the tallest building in Flint, Michigan, United States. It was demolished on December 22, 2013 after a period of inactivity and loss of occupancy.

The Federal Building (also known as the United States Post Office) is a US government office building located at 600 Church Street in Flint, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

The Capitol Theatre Building is a cinema and concert venue located at 140 E. 2nd St. in Flint, Michigan. Designed by John Eberson, it is an atmospheric theater designed to look like a Roman garden. The Capitol Theatre opened in 1928, and operated as a cinema and live performance venue until 1996. The theatre was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. After its closure in 1996, the Capitol Theatre lay dormant for 20 years. The Capitol's historic character was preserved by the efforts of the building's owners, who maintained and heated the empty theatre until restoration work began in 2015. The Capitol reopened in late 2017, and is managed by the Flint Institute of Music.

The City of Flint Municipal Center is a complex of seven government office buildings located at 1101 Saginaw Street, 210 East Fifth Street, 310 East Fifth Street in Flint, Michigan. The area was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2019.

The Flint Journal Building is an office building located at 200 East First Street in Flint, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013. It is now used by the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine.

The Paterson Building is a historic structure located at 653 South Saginaw Street and Third Street in Flint, Michigan. It was built by William A. Paterson of the W. A. Paterson Company who first built carriages there starting in 1869. He switched to manufacturing automobiles in 1909, and the company built well-regarded automobiles until 1923.The building was damaged by fire and rebuilt in 1931 in the art deco style. The Paterson building had been owned by Thomas W. Collison Jr. of the Collison Family for 30 years under their parent corporation Thomas W. Collison & Co., Inc. It was sold in 2019 to former NBA basketball player Morris Peterson's Flintstone Investment Group. In 2023 Peterson lost ownership of the building and the building was returned to the Collison Family. On January 2024, the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation awarded a $3.5 million grant to Communities First allowing the organization to purchase and rehabilate the building. The building has three office floors with a full garage in the basement level. The building consists of mainly law and medical offices. There are also retail stores on the Third Street side. The building rich Art Deco has been maintained throughout the interior and exterior of the building.

Flint is the largest city and seat of Genesee County, Michigan, United States. Located along the Flint River, 66 miles (106 km) northwest of Detroit, it is a principal city within the region known as Mid Michigan. At the 2020 census, Flint had a population of 81,252, making it the twelfth largest city in Michigan. The Flint metropolitan area is located entirely within Genesee County. It is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Michigan with a population of 406,892 in 2020. The city was incorporated in 1855. Flint was founded as a village by fur trader Jacob Smith in 1819 and became a major lumbering area on the historic Saginaw Trail during the 19th century. From the late 19th century to the mid 20th century, the city was a leading manufacturer of carriages and later automobiles, earning it the nickname "Vehicle City". General Motors (GM) was founded in Flint in 1908, and the city grew into an automobile manufacturing powerhouse for GM's Buick and Chevrolet divisions, especially after World War II up until the early 1980s recession. Flint was also the home of a sit-down strike in 1936–37 that played a vital role in the formation of the United Auto Workers. Since the late 1960s, Flint has faced several crises. The city experienced an economic downturn after GM significantly downsized its workforce in the area from a high of 80,000 in 1978 to under 8,000 by 2010. From 1960 to 2010, the population of the city nearly halved, from 196,940 to 102,434. In the mid-2000s, Flint became known for its comparatively high crime rates and has repeatedly been ranked among the most dangerous cities in the United States according to crime statistics. The city was under a state of financial emergency from 2002 to 2004 and again from 2011 to 2015.From 2014 to 2019, Flint faced a public health emergency due to lead contamination in parts of the local water supply as well as an outbreak of Legionnaires' disease. The acute lead crisis has been addressed as the city has secured a new source of clean water, installed modern copper pipes to nearly every home, and distributed filters to all residents who want them. However, a legacy of distrust in public authorities remains.

Durant-Dort Factory One (formally Durant-Dort Carriage Factory No. 1, formerly the Flint Road Cart Factory, and commonly known as Factory One) is a former cotton textile, carriage, and automobile factory in Flint, Michigan, that is now an archive and a center for research, meetings, and the community. The building was constructed in 1880 as a cotton textile factory. It produced carriages for the Durant-Dort Carriage Company from 1886 to 1917 and then produced cars for the Dort Motor Car Company from 1917 to 1924. It is often considered the birthplace of General Motors (GM). Factory One housed numerous businesses between 1928 and 2013, when GM purchased it. Architectural firm SmithGroupJJR restored the interior and exterior of the building, which was reopened on May 1, 2017 as a conference and event space and as Kettering University's automotive archive.
