Hurlingham Club Ground

Asociación Civil Hurlingham Club, simply known as "Hurlingham Club" is an Argentine sports and social club located in the city of Hurlingham, Buenos Aires. It is named after the Hurlingham Club in London and was set up in 1888 by the local Anglo-Argentine community. The town of Hurlingham and Hurlingham Partido grew up around the club, taking its name. The club hosts a wide range of activities, such as cricket, gymnastics, golf, horse riding, polo, squash, and tennis. The "Abierto de Hurlingham" (Hurlingham Open) polo tournament is considered the 2nd. in importance after the Campeonato Argentino. The club covers 73 hectares and has an 18-hole golf course, five polo fields, stables for 300 horses, schools of polo, horse riding and pony riding, 18 tennis courts including six grass courts, a cricket pitch, two swimming pools, three paddle tennis courts and an indoor complex with a gym, squash court and dressing rooms. The club house also has elegant function rooms, restaurant and bars, plus hotel rooms available to members. Hurlingham was the first place in Argentina where polo was played, and the Argentine Polo Association was founded at the club in 1922. Argentina has subsequently become a dominant power in international polo, and the club hosts a major polo tournament each year, the "Campeonato Abierto de Hurlingham".

The Battle of Caseros (Spanish: Batalla de Caseros; Portuguese: Batalha de Caseros) was fought near the town of El Palomar, Argentina, on 3 February 1852, between forces of the Argentine Confederation, commanded by Juan Manuel de Rosas, and a coalition consisting of the Argentine provinces of Entre Ríos and Corrientes, the Empire of Brazil, and Uruguay. The allied forces, known as the Grand Army (Ejército Grande), defeated Rosas, who fled to the United Kingdom. This defeat marked a sharp division in the history of Argentina. After the battle, Justo José de Urquiza, a caudillo and governor of Entre Ríos, became the provisional Director of the Argentine Confederation and sponsored the creation of the country's constitution in 1853, later becoming the first constitutional president of Argentina in 1854.

El Palomar Airport (IATA: EPA, ICAO: SADP) is a commercial and military airport in El Palomar, Argentina. It is the home base for the 1st Air Brigade (Spanish: Primera Brigada Aérea) of the Argentine Air Force, which is mainly a transportation unit. It is located 18 km (11 mi) west of Buenos Aires, near the El Palomar station of the San Martín railway line. It was created in 1912 to accommodate the Army Aviation School, which was the base for the future Argentine Air Force. Commercial flights in and out of El Palomar were stopped in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. As of 2022, commercial flight facilities at El Palomar were reportedly being dismantled and moved to Ezeiza International Airport, limiting hopes that commercial flights would return to El Palomar.

The National Military College (Spanish: Colegio Militar de la Nación) is the institution in charge of the undergraduate education of officers of the Argentine Army. It is located at El Palomar, Buenos Aires. Established on October 11, 1869, by President Domingo Sarmiento at the height of the Paraguayan War, its original quarters were opened in where the Parque Tres de Febrero stands today, with Col. Juan F. Czetz as the first superintendent. It was transferred to San Martín in 1892, and to its present location, the site of the 1852 Battle of Caseros that deposed mid-19th century strongman Juan Manuel de Rosas, in 1938. Its present facilities were inaugurated in 1937. El Palomar and La Casa de Caseros, installations involved in the Battle of Caseros, were declared a National Historic Monument. Traditionally, most cadets belonged to high- or middle-class families, with many of them having a long military tradition. This has changed in recent years, the Corps of Cadets becoming more representative of lower-class families. Women were first admitted in the College in 1999, and allowed into Infantry and Cavalry arms in 2013.

Villa Udaondo is a town in Buenos Aires Province, Argentina, it is located in the Ituzaingó Partido in Greater Buenos Aires. The town is named after Guillermo Udaondo (14 December 1859 – 4 August 1922), Governor of Buenos Aires Province from 1894 to 1898.

El Palomar is a town in the urban agglomeration of Greater Buenos Aires in Argentina. It is located 20 km (12 mi) north-west of Buenos Aires. The city has the peculiarity of being divided between two partidos of Buenos Aires Province: Morón, where it is called El Palomar, and Tres de Febrero, where it is called Ciudad Jardín Lomas del Palomar. Of its 74,751 inhabitants (2001 census [INDEC]), 57,146 live within the Morón jurisdiction and 17,605 live in Tres de Febrero. El Palomar was established with a station by that name belonging to the Buenos Aires and Pacific Railway (Spanish: Ferrocarril Buenos Aires al Pacífico) opened in 1910. Developer Publio Massini sold the first lots on November 8 of that year, and Juan Manuel Giuffra established the El Palomar Development Council, which obtained electric lighting for the area in its early years. The city is home to the National Military College (Spanish: Colegio Militar de la Nación), the 1st Air Brigade (Spanish: Primera Brigada Aérea) of the Argentine Air Force, and El Palomar Airport. The Italian Society of Tiro al Segno (Target Shooting) (S.I.T.A.S.), is located in Palomar. Horse riding, tennis, soccer, yoga, shooting, hockey, bodybuilding, and other sports can be practiced here. In an annex is the training venue for rugby and hockey. French automaker PSA Group had a manufacturing plant in the area as well, which is now owned by PSA's successor Stellantis. El Palomar is served by Ferrocarril General San Martín commuter rail service at El Palomar station with easy access to Retiro Station in downtown Buenos Aires, as well as by National Route 7.
