The Municipality of Sevnica (Slovene: Občina Sevnica) is a municipality along the Sava and the Mirna Rivers in southeastern Slovenia. The seat of the municipality is the town of Sevnica. Today it is part of the Lower Sava Statistical Region. It is the 12th-largest municipality by area in Slovenia.

Sevnica (pronounced [ˈséːwnitsa] ; German: Lichtenwald) is a town on the left bank of the Sava River in central Slovenia. It is the seat of the Municipality of Sevnica. It is one of the three major settlements in the Lower Sava Valley. The old town of Sevnica lies beneath Sevnica Castle, which is perched on top of Castle Hill, while the new part of town stretches along the plain among the hills up the Sava Valley, forming another town core at the confluence of the Sevnična and Sava rivers.

The Mirna is a river in southeastern Slovenia. The river is a right tributary of the Sava River in the province of Lower Carniola. It is 44 kilometers (27 mi) long, starts below the settlement of Velika Preska, flows through the Mirna Valley and joins the Sava at Dolenji Boštanj, opposite Sevnica. The largest settlement on the river is the town of Mirna. The river is traversed by the Sevnica–Trebnje Railway. The river was mentioned for the first time in 1028 in relation to a 1016 document by Henry II, Holy Roman Emperor. Mirna is the river in which the marathon swimmer Martin Strel first learned to swim.

Konjsko (pronounced [ˈkoːnskɔ]; German: Roßbach) is a small settlement in the hills above the right bank of the Sava River south of Boštanj in the Municipality of Sevnica in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.

It is originally a Romanesque building that was restyled in the Baroque in the 17th century and extended in 1888.

Boštanj (pronounced [bɔˈʃtaːn] or [ˈboːʃtan]; in older sources also Gorenji Boštanj, German: Obersavenstein, Savenstein, Sowenstein, or Sawenstein) is a village in the Lower Sava Valley in southeastern Slovenia. It consists of a nucleated centre on two terraces on the right bank of the Sava River along the main road from Celje to Krško, and two hamlets, Puše and Redna, on the slopes of the nearby hills. It is the central settlement of the local community, the largest local community in the Municipality of Sevnica. The village has a post office, a fire station, a primary school, two shops, a gas station, two bars, a restaurant, and a cultural hall named the TVD Partizan Hall (Dom TVD Partizan). It is surrounded by fields and orchards.

Pečje (pronounced [pɛˈtʃjɛ]) is a settlement in the Municipality of Sevnica in central Slovenia. It lies just east of Sevnica above the left bank of the Sava River The area is part of the historical region of Styria. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.

Laze pri Boštanju (pronounced [ˈlaːzɛ pɾi bɔˈʃtaːnju]) is a dispersed settlement in the hills south of Boštanj in the Municipality of Sevnica in central Slovenia. The area is part of the historical region of Lower Carniola. The municipality is now included in the Lower Sava Statistical Region. It includes the hamlets of Rekštanj (German: Ruckenstein) and Zapuže.
