Silvolde

Bontebrug is a village in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is on the eastern bank of the river Oude IJssel south of Silvolde. On the other side of the river lies the village Ulft. For shopping and recreation, the inhabitants have to go there.

Ulft (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈʏl(ə)ft]) is a town in Oude IJsselstreek in the Achterhoek area in the province of Gelderland, Netherlands. The town has over 10,000 inhabitants and is the biggest town in the municipality Oude IJsselstreek. Until 1 January 2005, Ulft was part of the municipality Gendringen. At the municipal re-ordering in the Achterhoek, the municipalities Gendringen and Wisch joined to form the Oude IJsselstreek. Ulft developed out of three hamlets: Ulft, Oer and De Pol. Oer is the northern part of Ulft and is called Oer because of the iron in the earth, which is called IJzeroer in Dutch. In Ulft an iron foundry called "Diepenbrock en Reigers te Ulft" (DRU) was founded. DRU moved some years ago to Duiven and is now located at Rijksweg A12. The old DRU-building now is the DRU 'Culture Factory' and holds a library, a theatre, a restaurant and an Iron museum.

Terborg is a railway station in Terborg, Netherlands. The station was opened on 15 July 1885 and is located on the Winterswijk–Zevenaar railway. The train services are operated by Arriva.

De Kempermolen is a tower mill in Breedenbroek, Gelderland, Netherlands which was built in 1882 and has been restored to working order. The mill is listed as a Rijksmonument.

Bocholter Aa is a river of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and the Achterhoek of the Netherlands. It flows through the town Bocholt. Its last part, before joining the Oude IJssel in Ulft, is called Aa-strang in Dutch.

Oude IJsselstreek (Dutch pronunciation: [ˌʌudə ˈʔɛisəlstreːk] ) is a municipality in the eastern Netherlands. It was established on 1 January 2005 through a merger of the former municipalities Gendringen and Wisch.

Terborg is a small city in the Dutch province of Gelderland, in the Achterhoek region in the east of the Netherlands. It is located in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek. The city lies about 7 km southeast of Doetinchem. The population is about 4600 inhabitants. Terborg is situated on the river the Oude IJssel. In the centre of the little city lies Castle Wisch, founded in the 13th century (hence the name "Terborg" which means "by the castle"). In the southeast of the city, near Silvolde lies a small nature reserve called the Paasberg ("Easter Mountain"). Terborg has a train station on the train route Arnhem - Winterswijk, and trains call here twice every hour. Terborg received city rights in 1419. The patron saint of the city is Saint George. Its coat of arms still is Saint George on a horse, killing a dragon. Until 1813, Terborg was part of the fiefdom Wisch, together with the villages Silvolde en Varsseveld. Terborg was a separate municipality until 1818 when it was merged with Varsseveld into municipality Wisch (equal to the ancient fiefdom). In 2005 it formed municipality Oude IJsselstreek with municipality Gendringen.In 1945, the town's Chasdei Enosh synagogue was blown up and destroyed by Nazis. An exact replica of the historic building opened on 7 June 2018 in Mevo Horon Israel, inaugurated by Israeli descendants of Dutch Jews. The old synagogue, on the Silvoldeseweg, was built in 1901.

Varsselder is a Dutch village situated in the Gelderland region Achterhoek, in the municipality Oude IJsselstreek. It is situated directly to the west of Ulft and it is crossed by the road from Ulft to 's-Heerenberg (N816). The church is called Martelaren van Gorcumkerk. The village has a former windmill. Veldhunten is a smaller rural settlement close to Varsselder.

Gendringen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is in the municipality of Oude IJsselstreek, about 12 km (7.5 mi) southeast of Doetinchem and 20 km (12 mi) northwest of the German city Bocholt. It has approximately 4400 inhabitants. In the Middle Ages, Gendringen was a fortress. Being property of the archbishop of Köln (Cologne), Gendringen was loaned to the lords living in the castle of 's-Heerenberg. In 1830, downtown Gendringen burned down for the most part. Nowadays, most of the entrepreneurs of the town are situated in the Grotestraat, which makes this street the most important street of downtown Gendringen. Gendringen was a separate municipality until 2005. Then, due to the municipal re-organization in the Achterhoek, Gendringen and Wisch joined into Oude IJsselstreek. Gendringen has two primary schools: Catholic school Christoffelschool and Christian school De Hoeksteen. On the north of the village is the industrial zone De IJsselweide, which is between Gendringen and nearby town Ulft. In the northeast of the village, there is a large park, Het Kernspark. On the east of Gendringen there is a large recreation area, Engbergen, with a forest with hiking routes, a restaurant with a large playground, an open-air theatre, a golf court, a corn mill, and a petting zoo. Gendringen can be accessed easily both by car and public transport: the nearest highway is 15 minutes away, and on weekdays, a bus drives between Gendringen and Doetinchem railway station at least every 30 minutes. Gendringen also has its own small airport suitable for ultralight aircraft approximately 2 km (1.2 mi) on the east of the village in nearby neighbourhood Voorst. Examples of events held every year in Gendringen are Amfipop, a low-budget pop festival, the village fair, the carnival and King's Day festivities, and Gast in Gendringen, an event with artists giving small concerts in several houses and small buildings throughout the village.

Gaanderen is a village in the Dutch province of Gelderland. It is located in the municipality of Doetinchem. The number of inhabitants is around 5,575 (2020).It was first mentioned around 1200 as de Gernere, and means "tapering land on a sandy ridge".Gaanderen was home to 482 people in 1840. The St Martinus Church dates from 1913 and is a replacement of a 1854 church. The tower of the old church remained.

St. Willibrord's Abbey (Dutch: Sint-Willibrordsabdij) at Doetinchem in Gelderland is the most recently established Benedictine monastery in the Netherlands.
