West Virginia Children's Home is a national historic district located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It encompasses two contributing buildings and two contributing structures. The original Children's Home building was built in 1909, with a main section and rear ell in the Colonial Revival style. An upper story to the ell was added by 1918, and an addition was built in 1935. The front facade features a portico with Corinthian order columns. The other contributing building is a two-story residence built in 1920. The contributing structures are the swimming pool (1935) and a brick storage cellar. It served as the statewide institution for the housing and placement of orphaned, neglected, and dependent children from 1911 until 1977. It was subsequently occupied by a residential treatment facility for disturbed teenagers.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994.

"Pinecrest", also known as the Richard C. Kerens House and Kerens-Spears House, is a historic home located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It was built in 1892 to a design by the Boston architecture firm Peabody & Stearns as a summer home for Richard C. Kerens (1842–1916). It is a large sandstone dwelling in a modified Shingle Style. It has an asymmetrical shape with gable-fronted sections in the main portion, a hip roof on the servants wing, and two cone-shaped tops on rounded turrets. It features a front porch that extends well beyond the exterior wall and curves along a single-story rounded projection at the east corner. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Scott Hill is a historic home located near Elkins in Randolph County, West Virginia, United States. It was built in 1892, and is a 2 ½ story, brick Queen Anne style dwelling on a sandstone foundation. It has an asymmetrical shape with a truncated slate covered hipped roof. The front facade features a large, one-story wraparound porch. It also has a porte cochere supported by two replacement Ionic order columns. Also on the property are a contributing one-story, square-plan frame smoke house (c. 1892), carriage house (c. 1892), chicken coop (c. 1920), corn crib (c. 1892), bank barn (c. 1892), equipment shed (c. 1941), and stone ornamental pond (c. 1910).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2008.

It is a two-story, twelve bay brick building in three sections. The first section was built in 1905; the second, and center, section, was built in 1923; the third section was built about 1947.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.

Graceland is a historic house on the campus of Davis & Elkins College in Elkins, West Virginia. It was the summer home of Henry Gassaway Davis, a United States senator from 1871–1883, and a major force in West Virginia's coal industry in the late 19th century. The mansion was completed in 1893. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of the National Historic Landmark Davis and Elkins Historic District. It is now the centerpiece of an inn and conference center.

Elkins Milling Company, also known as Darden's Mill, is a historic grist mill located at Elkins, Randolph County, West Virginia. It is a three-story timber frame structure, eight bays long and three bays deep. It was built in 1902, and expanded and at various points in the 20th century. The building served Elkins and the surrounding area as a merchant grain mill and feed store.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.As of 2015, the building is home to the West Virginia Railroad Museum.

Elkins is a city in and the county seat of Randolph County, West Virginia, United States, along the Tygart Valley River. The community was incorporated in 1890 and named in honor of Stephen Benton Elkins, a U.S. Senator from West Virginia. The population was 6,950 at the 2020 census and estimated at 6,895 in 2021. Elkins is home to Davis and Elkins College and the Mountain State Forest Festival, held in early October every year.

It encompasses 65 contributing buildings in the central business district of Elkins. It includes mostly commercial buildings constructed in the late-19th and early-20th century. Notable buildings include the Dann Building (1897), Randolph Company (1896), Randolph Hotel (1893), Wallace Bakery (1895), railroad depot (1908), Ward Building (1908), First United Methodist Church (1904), Hotel Delmonte (1899), Darden Block (1906), Brown Building (1906), Stalnaker Block (1900), and Post Office and Federal Building (now City Hall, 1917).It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995.
