Dortmund University station

TU Dortmund University (German: Technische Universität Dortmund) is a technical university in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany with over 35,000 students, and over 6,000 staff including 300 professors, offering around 80 Bachelor's and master's degree programs. It is situated in the Ruhr area, the fourth largest urban area in Europe. The university is highly ranked in terms of its research performance in the areas of physics, electrical engineering, chemistry and economics. The university pioneered the Internet in Germany, and contributed to machine learning (in particular, to support-vector machines, and RapidMiner).

Fachhochschule Dortmund - University of Applied Sciences and Arts (German: Fachhochschule Dortmund) is a university of applied sciences (German: Fachhochschule) in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany with 14,057 students, and 894 staff, 255 of which are teaching staff. It is situated in the Ruhr area, the fourth largest urban area in Europe. Fachhochschule Dortmund was created by a merger of several institutions of higher education in 1971. Owing to its history as separate institutions, it consists of three campuses in different parts of Dortmund. The Faculties of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology are located at Sonnenstraße near the city center. The Faculty of Design has its own campus at Max-Ophüls-Platz, while the Faculties of Applied Social Studies, Business Studies, Computer Science and Architecture are housed in several buildings next to the TU Dortmund University campus in the suburb of Eichlinghofen. The university is known for its Faculty of Business Studies. Additional offices in the city center are used for administrative purposes.

Dortmund-Dorstfeld Süd station is an underground station in the district of Dorstfeld of the city of Dortmund in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It was built on a loop line (line 2190) off the Witten/Dortmund–Oberhausen/Duisburg railway, which was opened on 24 September 1983 from Bochum-Langendreer to Dortmund-Dorstfeld. The station was also opened on 24 September 1983 and it is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.The station is served by line S 1 of the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn (Dortmund–Solingen) every 15 minutes during the day between Dortmund and Essen.

The Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology (German: Max-Planck-Institut für molekulare Physiologie) is located in Dortmund, next to the Dortmund University of Technology. It is one of 80 institutes in the Max Planck Society (Max Planck Gesellschaft).

Dortmund-Dorstfeld is an S-Bahn station in Dortmund in the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It the second most important S-Bahn node in the city after Dortmund Hauptbahnhof. It has four above-ground tracks, which are accessible via two island platforms and two underground tracks that are accessible via side platforms. The station is classified as a category 3 station. It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn lines S1, S2 and S4.

The Dortmund-Dorstfeld transmitter was a temporary mediumwave broadcasting facility at the Dorstfeld coal pit in Dortmund, Germany. The Dortmund-Dorstfeld transmitter was inaugurated on September 18, 1925. It was a T-type antenna with two wires, which was spun between two 33-metres-tall wooden guyed masts, placed in a distance of 35 metres. The facility was shut down on December 15, 1927, after the Langenberg transmitter took over.

It was opened on 3 June 1984 on the Osterath–Dortmund Süd railway completed between the old Dortmund-Dorstfeld station and the old Dortmund Süd (south) station by the Rhenish Railway Company on 19 November 1874 and electrified on 25 May 1984. It is proposed to build platforms on the Elberfeld–Dortmund railway to provide interchange with S-Bahn line S 5. It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 4 at 30-minute intervals (15-minute intervals in the peak between Dortmund-Lütgendortmund and Unna-Königsborn).It is also served by bus routes 452 (Saarlandstr – Funkenburg – Spähenfelde + Dortmund Hbf (475 – Mengede)), every 30 minutes) and 453 (Saarlandstr – Märkische Str – Schüren + Dortmund Hbf – Anne-Frank-GS), every 30 minutes), both operated by DSW21.

Dortmund-Wischlingen is a railway station on the Welver–Sterkrade railway situated in Dortmund in western Germany. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station. It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 2 every 30 minutes.It is also served by bus routes 447 (Huckarde + Dorstfeld - Uni - Hombruch - Wellinghofen - Hacheney) and 465 (Huckarde + Dorstfeld - Universität - Oespel) both operated by DSW21.

It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 6 station and was opened on 30 May 1964. It is now located on a new line completed between Dortmund-Dorstfeld and Germania on 3 June 1984 and electrified between Dortmund-Marten Süd station and Germania on 28 August 1987.It is served by Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn line S 4 at 30-minute intervals (15-minute intervals in the peak between Dortmund-Lütgendortmund and Unna-Königsborn). It is served by Dortmund Stadtbahn line U 44 (Dorstfeld – Kampstr – Borsigplatz – Westfalenhütte) at 10-minute intervals. It is also served by bus routes 462 (Germania – Lütgendortmund – Bövinghausen – Kirchlinde – Huckarde + Uni - Barop), every 20 minutes), 463 (Germania – Lütgendortmund – Volksgarten + Marten), every 60 minutes), 464 (Feldgarten – Lütgendortmund), every 30 minutes), 466 (Dorstfeld – Bandelstr), every 20 minutes) and 480 (Kirchlinde – Schwerin – Castrop-Rauxel - Ickern), every 20 minutes), operated by DSW21.
