Southampton Township is a township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the township's population was 10,317, a decrease of 147 (−1.4%) from the 10,464 recorded at the 2010 census, which in turn had reflected an increase of 76 (+0.7%) from the 10,388 counted at the 2000 census. The township, and all of Burlington County, is a part of the Philadelphia-Reading-Camden combined statistical area and the Delaware Valley.What is now Southampton was originally incorporated as Coaxen Township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 10, 1845, from portions of Northampton Township (now known as Mount Holly Township). The name lasted for about three weeks when it was renamed Southampton Township on April 1, 1845. As the population increased, portions of the township were taken to form Pemberton Township (March 10, 1846), Shamong Township (February 19, 1852), Lumberton Township (March 14, 1860), Woodland Township (March 7, 1866) and Tabernacle Township (March 22, 1901).

Leisuretowne is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) located within Southampton Township, in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2010 United States Census, the CDP's population was 3,582.Leisuretowne is a retirement village, with a standing rule of having prospective residents reach the age of 55 before purchasing a home. Two thirds of the CDPs residents are 65 years of age or older.

Buddtown is an unincorporated community located within Southampton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Located between Vincentown and Pemberton, it is named for Thomas Budd who owned farmland in the area in the 18th century. The area itself contains houses and churches in the community itself and farmland surrounding the settlement. The stream that runs through Buddtown is named Stop the Jade Run supposedly named for the cry made by the owners of a runaway horse, "jade" being an old name for a horse.

DeMastro Vineyards is a winery in the Vincentown section of Southampton in Burlington County, New Jersey. DeMastro has 31 acres of grapes under cultivation, and produces 7,000 cases of wine per year. The winery was incorporated in 1990. The winery's name is an amalgamation of the owners' surnames.

Beaverville is an unincorporated community located within Southampton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The area is composed of single-family homes, small businesses and warehouses, forest, and farmland. The community is located along Red Lion Road (County Route 641) two miles (3.2 km) south of Vincentown, to the west of U.S. Route 206, and southeast of the Red Lion Airport. Originally, the settlement was the site of a one-room schoolhouse.

From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.Public school students from Southampton Township in ninth through twelfth grades attend Seneca High School, which also serves students in ninth through twelfth grade from Shamong Township, Tabernacle Township and Woodland Township. The school is part of the Lenape Regional High School District, which also serves students from Evesham Township, Medford Lakes, Medford Township and Mount Laurel Township. As of the 2018–19 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 1,137 students and 109.5 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.4:1.

The area is served as United States Postal Service ZIP Code 08088.As of the 2010 United States Census, the population for ZIP Code Tabulation Area 08088 was 24,664.

The Bishop–Irick Farmstead is a historic farmhouse at 17 Pemberton Road in the Vincentown section of Southampton Township of Burlington County, New Jersey. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 4, 1992, for its significance in agriculture, architecture, and politics/government. It is now used as the headquarters of the Pinelands Preservation Alliance.

Red Lion is an unincorporated community located within Southampton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey.Red Lion is home to the Red Lion Inn, a diner, and a few houses, all located near the Red Lion Circle, within the New Jersey Pine Barrens.The name, Red Lion, comes from a story about one of the original settlers, a man by the name of Parks, who battled a mountain lion. The lion's coat turned red from its own blood. Mountain lion and black bear were common in the area before being hunted to extinction.

However, the county stretches across the state, and its southeast corner reaches tidal estuaries leading to New Jersey's Great Bay, which separates the county from the Atlantic Ocean.
