Canonsleigh Abbey was an Augustinian priory in the parish of Burlescombe, Devon.

Greenham Hall is a country house at Wellington in Somerset. It was once the home of Admiral of the Fleet Sir John Kelly. It is a Grade II listed building.Originally known as Tremlett House, the main building was constructed in 1848 for Thomas Edward Clarke, a solicitor. It was acquired by the Chapman family in 1880, by Admiral Sir John Kelly in 1920 and was then used as a collecting point for army units during the Second World War. It was bought by the Norman family shortly after the war and then by Henry Ayre in 1970. It is still owned by the Ayre family and became a hotel in 1985.

Greenham Barton is a 13th-century manor house in the civil parish of Stawley, Somerset, England (at Greenham, west of Wellington in Somerset). Built in 1279, it has been designated as a Grade I listed building.In early 14th century the local lords of the manor were the Bluett and Cothay families, who owned both the nearby Cothay Manor and Greenham Barton. The manor came to the Bluett family around 1300 when Sir Walter Bluett married the daughter of the then owner Simon de Gryndenham. Later - in the early 14th century - John Bluett, the elder son of the union of the Bluett family with the Cothay family, inherited Greenham Barton, with the younger son Richard inheriting Cothay. The nearby manor of Holcombe Rogus, in Devon, was acquired by the Bluett family in the early 15th century, where they resided at Holcombe Court until 1858. The original house consisted of living quarters around a courtyard with the Great Hall being modernised in the early-mid 16th century.During World War I the condition of the house deteriorated until it was bought by a Mr Fry in 1920 and renovated. Further restoration has been undertaken since 1968 when it was bought by Mr ER Willis.

Appledore is a small village near Uffculme in Devon, England, about 7 miles (11 kilometres) east of Tiverton.Appledore was listed in the Domesday Book of 1086.

Wellington Bank is a steep railway embankment and associated climb located on the Bristol to Exeter line, that climbs from just northeast of Wellington, Somerset, until its peak at Sampford Arundel, where it enters Whiteball tunnel and travels under the Whiteball Hill.

Cothay Manor is a grade one listed medieval house and gardens, in Stawley, near Wellington, Somerset. The manor grounds consist of almost 40 acres and include cottages, outbuildings, stables, and 12 acres of gardens.The manor is Grade I listed on the National Heritage List for England, and its gate piers and wall to the north entrance of the house are listed Grade II.In the early 14th century the lord of the manor was the de Cothay family, whose heir was the Bluett family, later from the early 15th century lords of the manor of Holcombe Rogus in Devon, also of nearby Greenham Barton.Built around 1480, its listing cites it as an unusually well-conserved, neat collection of buildings before 1500 in England. The rent for the land surrounding the manor in the medieval era was a pair of silver spurs and a rose. To celebrate the end of the Cousins' Wars, in the Tudor rose iconography of the time, a red rose (for Lancashire), and a white rose (for Yorkshire), were planted on the terrace by Richard Bluett, who was the lord of the manor at the time.In 1927, historian Christopher Hussey wrote in Country Life that this manor house was "the most perfect small 15th‐century country house that survives in the Kingdom".

Culmstock is a village and civil parish in Mid Devon, England, centred 10 miles from Tiverton and 6 NE of Cullompton. It is laid out on both sides of the River Culm; the village is joined by a single old narrow stone bridge across the river. The population of the parish at the 2011 Census was 554. The northern boundary of the parish forms part of the Devon – Somerset border and clockwise from there it is surrounded by the Devon parishes of Hemyock, Uffculme, Burlescombe and Holcombe Rogus.Historically, in minor matters of law and taxation, Culmstock contributed to Hemyock Hundred. It saw prosperity as a centre of weaving and the wool trade, but this prosperity, and the relative population to that nationally, declined considerably in the latter part of the Industrial Revolution. The population was around 1446 for the forty years before the 1841 census but fell in the next 40 years to 863. In 1961 after a non-linear descent, the population was 692, broadly similar to today's total.

Sampford Arundel is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England. It is situated near Wellington and 10 miles (16.1 km) south west of Taunton. The village has a population of 268.The parish, which lies at the western end of the Blackdown Hills, includes the hamlets of Bagley Green, Sampford Moor, White Ball and Beam Bridge where a temporary terminus of the Bristol and Exeter Railway was established in 1843 until the line was completed to Exeter in 1844.There is a Junior School, an interesting church and an old telephone box. There are no shops and few street lamps. There is a cricket club and the main attraction for visitors is the countryside.

Thorne St Margaret is a village in the civil parish of Wellington Without in the Taunton Deane district of Somerset, England. It is situated 3 miles west of Wellington, between the river Tone and the Bristol and Exeter railway. The village of Holywell Lake is nearby, which is one of the Thankful Villages which lost no men in World War I.The parish of Thorne St Margaret was part of the Milverton Hundred.The Church of St Margaret serves a parish population of about 50. The church has a 15th-century tower with three bells. The rest of the church was rebuilt in 1865, with a west window, with stained glass, added in 1907. The church is built of hard red sandstone and has a baptismal font dating to Saxon times. It has been designated by English Heritage as a Grade II* listed building.

Kittisford is a village and former civil parish and manor, now in the parish of Stawley in the Somerset district, in the ceremonial county of Somerset, England, situated 7 miles (11 km) west of Taunton. In 1931 the parish had a population of 92. On 1 April 1933 the parish was abolished and merged with Stawley.The parish Church of St Nicholas was built around 1500 altered in the mid 17th century and was restored in 1875. It is a Grade II* listed building dedicated to St Nicholas. In the church survives a monumental brass to Richard Bluett (d.1524) and his wife Agnes Verney.Gerald Gardiner took the title "Baron Gardiner of Kittisford" when he was made a life peer.

The Church of St Mary the Virgin is the main Church of England parish church for the village of Uffculme, Devon, England. First mentioned in a charter dating back to 1136, the present church has a mixture of medieval and Victorian architecture and is a Grade II* listed building. The church building is notable for its rood screen, the longest and oldest in the county, as well as its tall broach spire, a rare feature on churches in Devon.
