Illogan Highway

Pool (Cornish: Poll) is a village in Carn Brea civil parish in west Cornwall, England. It is bypassed by the A30, on the A3047 between Camborne and Redruth, between Tuckingmill and Illogan Highway.

East Pool mine (later known as East Pool and Agar mine), was a metalliferous mine in the Camborne and Redruth mining area, just east of the village of Pool in Cornwall, England. Worked from the early 18th century until 1945, first for copper and later tin, it was very profitable for much of its life. Today the site has two preserved beam engines and is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. It is owned by the National Trust.

Camborne-Redruth was an urban district in Cornwall, England, from 1934 to 1974. It was formed as a merger of Camborne and Redruth urban districts along with parts of Redruth Rural District and Helston Rural District (both of which were being abolished). The towns are about four miles apart and form a loose conurbation.The urban district persisted until it was merged into the Kerrier district of Cornwall under the Local Government Act 1972.

Penhallick is a hamlet near Pool in Cornwall, England, UK. Penhallick House was built in 1892 by Richard Cowlin the local miller and grocer who owned Cowlin Mill. The mill was converted in the 1980s by Kerrier Groundwork and was offices for Cornwall Council. The mill building is currently for sale with potential change of use to residential. Penhallick is a popular starting spot for accessing the walks and cycleway along the Great Flat Lode. Penhallick is in the parish of Carn Brea.

South Crofty is a metalliferous tin and copper mine located in the village of Pool, Cornwall, England. An ancient mine, it has seen production for over 400 years, and extends almost two and a half miles across and 3,000 feet (910 m) down and has mined over 40 lodes. Evidence of mining activity in South Crofty has been dated back to 1592, with full-scale mining beginning in the mid-17th century. The mine went into serious decline after 1985 and eventually closed in 1998. After several changes of ownership, South Crofty is owned by Cornish Metals Inc, which is working to re-open the mine, as of November 2022, having receive a permit for dewatering the mine.

Heartlands Cornwall, often known simply as Heartlands, is a World Heritage Site Gateway and visitor attraction in Pool, Cornwall, England, UK. It has been dubbed as Cornwall's first free cultural playground. It was developed at South Crofty's Robinson Shaft and spread over 19 acres in the former mining heart of Cornwall.The project was funded by the National Lottery and was opened on 20 April 2012 after 14 years of planning. In 2014 the project came close to closure and was forced to reorganise its business plan and reduce its paid staff as a consequence of low visitor numbers and income.
