Church Coombe

Church Town is a hamlet in the parish of Redruth, Cornwall, England.

Carn Brea Village is a village in the civil parish of Carn Brea (where the 2011 census population is included), Cornwall, England. It is south of the railway line to Penzance while Tolskithy is to the north.

Carn Brea Castle on Carn Brea is a 14th-century grade II listed granite stone building which was extensively remodelled in the 18th century as a hunting lodge in the style of a castle for the Basset family. The building is in private use as a restaurant.

Carnkie is a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is situated approximately one and a half miles south west of Redruth. It is in the civil parish of Carn Brea. The village is built largely along the Great Flat Lode (a massive mineral trail that was extensively mined), and is surrounded by numerous derelict mine buildings, most of which were built by the mining magnate, Lord de Dunstanville and Basset. There is a Methodist chapel building at the centre of the village which closed in 2010. The Methodist congregation now meet at Carnkie Village Hall every Sunday at 10:30am and in May 2015 celebrated their 5th year since moving. Vehicular access to Carn Brea is gained through Carnkie, at the summit can be found a monument dedicated to Lord de Dunstanville and Basset, and Carn Brea Castle, originally believed to be a hunting lodge, but which these days serves as a restaurant. D. M. Thomas, Cornish writer shortlisted for the 1981 Booker Prize grew up in Carnkie, Redruth.

The Great Flat Lode is a mineral-bearing body of rock under the southern granite slopes of Carn Brea south of Camborne in west Cornwall, England, UK.

Carn Brea (Cornish: Karnbre) is a civil parish and hilltop site in Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The population of Carn Brea including Bosleake and Church Coombe was 8,013 at the 2011 census. The hilltop site is situated approximately one mile (1.6 km) southwest of Redruth. The settlements of Bosleake, Brea, Broad Lane, Carn Arthen, Carn Brea Village, Carnkie, Four Lanes, Grillis, Illogan Highway, Pencoys, Penhallick, Piece, Pool, Tolskithy, Tregajorran, Treskillard, Tuckingmill and West Tolgus are in the parish.

Redruth School is a secondary school in Redruth, Cornwall, England, for pupils aged 11 to 16. It was formed in 1976 by the merger of Redruth Grammar School and Tolgus Secondary School. The sports fields of the school are also used as a venue for the Westward League Cross Country running competitions once a year.The school has extensive sports facilities, such as a swimming pool, a fitness suite and a gymnasium. Craig Martin, the former headteacher of the school, left the position in the summer term of 2022. He was headteacher for twelve years, joining sometime in 2010. The schools fitness suite has been renamed in his honor.

Kresen Kernow (Cornish for Cornwall Centre) in Redruth, United Kingdom is Cornwall's archive centre, home to the world's biggest collection of archive and library material related to Cornwall. Funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Cornwall Council and opened in 2019, it brings together the collections which were previously held at Cornwall Record Office, the Cornish Studies Library and Cornwall and Scilly Historic Environment Record as well as in various outstores.Kresen Kernow was the name of the building in Alma Place in which the Cornish Studies Library was formerly held. The new archive centre, which has been constructed on the former Redruth Brewery site in Tolgus Hill, Redruth, has the same name. Kresen Kernow has more than 14 miles of shelving in total which will house around 1.5 million items, including over 100,000 books, 40,000 maps and 220,000 photographs and postcards.

The Mining Exchange is a Grade II listed building in Redruth, Cornwall, UK. It was constructed in 1880 at a cost of £500 to build. It is thought to have been designed by local architect Sampson Hill. The Mining Exchange was where local producers sold mineral stock.
