Penhallick is a hamlet near Pool in Cornwall, England, UK. Penhallick House was built in 1892 by Richard Cowlin the local miller and grocer who owned Cowlin Mill. The mill was converted in the 1980s by Kerrier Groundwork and was offices for Cornwall Council. The mill building is currently for sale with potential change of use to residential. Penhallick is a popular starting spot for accessing the walks and cycleway along the Great Flat Lode. Penhallick is in the parish of Carn Brea.

The King Edward Mine at Camborne, Cornwall, in the United Kingdom is a mine wholly owned by Cornwall Council. At the end of the 19th century students at the Camborne School of Mines spent much of their time doing practical mining and tin dressing work in the local tin mines. The industry was almost in terminal decline and the surviving mines were falling behind technically. This was hardly ideal from the instruction point of view. The only real solution was for Camborne School of Mines to have its own underground mine.

South Crofty is a metalliferous tin and copper mine located in the village of Pool, Cornwall, England. An ancient mine, it has seen production for over 400 years, and extends almost two and a half miles across and 3,000 feet (910 m) down and has mined over 40 lodes. Evidence of mining activity in South Crofty has been dated back to 1592, with full-scale mining beginning in the mid-17th century. The mine went into serious decline after 1985 and eventually closed in 1998. After several changes of ownership, South Crofty is owned by Cornish Metals Inc, which is working to re-open the mine, as of November 2022, having receive a permit for dewatering the mine.

Heartlands Cornwall, often known simply as Heartlands, is a World Heritage Site Gateway and visitor attraction in Pool, Cornwall, England, UK. It has been dubbed as Cornwall's first free cultural playground. It was developed at South Crofty's Robinson Shaft and spread over 19 acres in the former mining heart of Cornwall.The project was funded by the National Lottery and was opened on 20 April 2012 after 14 years of planning. In 2014 the project came close to closure and was forced to reorganise its business plan and reduce its paid staff as a consequence of low visitor numbers and income.

Dolcoath Road runs between the A3047 road and Chapel Hill. The site is south of this road.
