Wabe is a river of Lower Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Schunter northeast of Braunschweig.

The German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (German: Bundesstelle für Flugunfalluntersuchung, BFU) is the German federal agency responsible for air accident and incident investigation. The purpose of BFU is to find out the causes of air accidents and incidents and how they can be prevented. The BFU facility is located in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony. The agency is subordinate to the Federal Ministry of Transport.West Germany joined the Convention on International Civil Aviation including the standards and recommended practices on aircraft accident and incident investigation (Annex 13) in 1956. Initially subordinate to the neighbouring Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (Federal Aviation Office), the Bureau of Aviation Accident Investigation according to a recommendation by the International Civil Aviation Organization in 1980 was put under the direct authority of the Federal Ministry of Transport. The BFU was formally established as an upper-level federal agency in 1998.

The Luftfahrt-Bundesamt (LBA, "Federal Aviation Office") is the national civil aviation authority of Germany headquartered in Braunschweig.It maintains regional offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt am Main (Raunheim), Hamburg, Munich (Airport), Stuttgart, and Berlin and reports directly to the Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure. The LBA is responsible for developing and maintaining aviation safety standards, as well as certifying airlines, airports, and training devices such a simulators and Flight Training Devices (FTDs). Some of these tasks are fulfilled on behalf of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Investigation of accidents is not a responsibility of the LBA but of the German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation.

Wabe-Schunter-Beberbach is a Stadtbezirk (borough) in the north-eastern and eastern part of Braunschweig, Germany. The district is named after the river Schunter and its tributaries Wabe and Beberbach. The Stadtbezirk comprises the quarters Bevenrode, Bienrode, Gliesmarode, Riddagshausen, Querum, and Waggum.

Braunschweig Wolfsburg Airport (German: Flughafen Braunschweig-Wolfsburg) (IATA: BWE, ICAO: EDVE) is an airport in Braunschweig, Germany. Originally constructed by the German Air Ministry in the 1930s, it is located on the northern edge of Braunschweig, which is situated between Hanover and Magdeburg. Braunschweig Airport traditionally has been a major centre of gliding in Germany and is also used for general aviation, especially business traffic. The headquarters of the German Federal Aviation Office, the Luftfahrt-Bundesamt are located at Braunschweig-Wolfsburg Airport. Also, the Braunschweig University of Technology has some of its aeronautical departments on site.

Volkswagenwerk Braunschweig is a factory site for Volkswagen automobile parts in Braunschweig (Gifhorner Str.), Germany. Production started on 1938-02-23 (before Volkswagenwerk Wolfsburg) for manufacturing steering components of „KdF-Wagen" (VW Käfer) and tools for Junkers Flugzeug- und Motorenwerke in Dessau. Until today, only components for vehicles of VW Group (Audi, Škoda, SEAT and Bugatti) are produced, such as running gears, axles, shock absorbers, brake parts and all pedals. As of 2006, approx. 6,200 workers were employed, thus making it the largest industrial site in the city. In 2010, the number of workers amounted to 5,548. In 2014, 6625 people worked here.

Eintracht-Stadion (German pronunciation: [ˈaɪntʁaxtˌʃtaːdi̯ɔn]) is a multi-purpose stadium in Braunschweig, Germany. It is currently used for football and American football matches and is the home stadium of Eintracht Braunschweig and the New Yorker Lions. The stadium is able to hold 24,406 people and was built in 1923.

The Östliches Ringgebiet is a Stadtbezirk (borough) in the eastern part of Braunschweig, Germany. With a population of 26,559 (2020) it is the city's second most populous district.

The State Natural History Museum (German: Naturhistorisches Museum Braunschweig) in Braunschweig, Germany, is a zoology museum. It was founded in 1754.

The Technical University of Braunschweig (German: Technische Universität Braunschweig, unofficially University of Braunschweig – Institute of Technology), commonly referred to as TU Braunschweig, is the oldest Technische Universität (comparable to an institute of technology in the American system) in Germany. It was founded in 1745 as Collegium Carolinum and is a member of TU9, an incorporated society of the most renowned and largest German institutes of technology. It is commonly ranked among the top universities for engineering in Germany. TU Braunschweig's research profile is very interdisciplinary, but with a focus on aeronautics, vehicle engineering including autonomous driving and electric mobility, manufacturing, life sciences, and metrology. Research is conducted in close collaboration with external organizations such as the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research, several Fraunhofer Institutes, and Germany's national metrology institute (PTB), among many others. As one of very few research institutions of its type in the world, the university has its own research airport.

The botanical garden of the TU Braunschweig (Botanischer Garten der Technischen Universität Braunschweig) was founded in 1840 by Johann Heinrich Blasius on the banks of the River Oker on the grounds of the former stately mansion in the woods of Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany. It was originally started in 1828 on the opposite bank of the Oker – a much smaller garden by Blasius, who sought a larger site. The old garden was lost in 1868. By 1900 there were 2700 species outside and 1200 in greenhouses. Some trees from 1840 remain today. During the Second World War, the garden suffered bombing, especially in the years 1944–45, and was partially destroyed, but was reconstructed after the end of the war. In 1985, an approximately 800m² Baroque garden, with an emphasis on farming, was laid out, which was augmented with a stream and a waterfall in a small ravine in 1989. In 1995, the garden area was expanded by about 4 acres (16,000 m2). This area is mainly for research.
