Ein Harod (Meuhad)

Zrubavel Gilad (Hebrew: זרובבל גלעד, also זרבבל גלעד‎; 9 December 1912 – 12 August 1988) was a Hebrew poet, editor and translator.

Ein Harod (Hebrew: עֵין חֲרוֹד) was a kibbutz in northern Israel near Mount Gilboa. Founded in 1921, it became the center of Mandatory Palestine's kibbutz movement, hosting the headquarters of the largest kibbutz organisation, HaKibbutz HaMeuhad.In 1923 part of the community split off into Tel Yosef, and in 1952 the rest of the community split into Ein Harod (Ihud) and Ein Harod (Meuhad). It was named after the nearby spring then known in Arabic as Ain Jalut, "Spring of Goliath", Hebraized as "Ein Harod", now Ma'ayan Harod. It was built on land formerly belonging to the villages of Qumya and Tamra.

Mishkan Museum of Art (Mishkan LeOmanut, Hebrew: המשכן לאמנות על שם חיים אתר, romanized: Haim Atar Art House) is an Israeli art museum located on the grounds of Kibbutz Ein Harod Meuhad.

Ein Harod (Ihud) (Hebrew: עֵין חֲרוֹד אִחוּד) is a kibbutz in northern Israel. Located in the Jezreel Valley near Mount Gilboa, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gilboa Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 540.

Gilboa Regional Council (Hebrew: מועצה אזורית הגלבוע, Mo'atza Azorit (ha)Gilbo'a) is a regional council in northern Israel, located on the slopes of the Gilboa mountain range. There are more than 22,000 residents in 38 settlements as of 2007. The size of the area is about 250,000 acres. It is bordered on the north and west by the Jezreel Valley and the Jezreel Valley Regional Council; on the east by the Beit She'an Valley and the Beit She'an Valley Regional Council, and on the south by the West Bank's Samarian mountains.

Tel Yosef (Hebrew: תֵּל יוֹסֵף, lit. 'Yosef Mound') is a kibbutz in north-eastern Israel. Located in the Jezreel Valley, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gilboa Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 564.

Qumya (Arabic: قوميه), was a Palestinian village of 510 inhabitants when it was depopulated prior to the 1948 Arab-Israeli war.Located 12.5 kilometers north of Baysan, the village was assaulted by the forces of the Golani Brigade on 26 March 1948 during Operation Gideon, on the orders of Yosef Weitz, a representative of the Jewish National Fund (JNF). Its inhabitants fled in fear of being caught in the fighting.

Highway 71 is an east-west highway that passes through the eastern Jezreel Valley and the Beit She'an Valley, below the north slopes of the Gilboa mountains, in northern Israel. The road follows a path parallel to the Harod Creek in the Harod Valley and to the Jezreel Valley railway. It is 35 kilometres (22 mi) long, and leads from Afula in the west, via Beit She'an, to the Jordan River Border Crossing in the east. The Navot interchange located approximately 10 km southeast of Afula provides a shortcut via Route 675 through the Ta'anakh region from Highway 71 and Beit She'an to Highway 65 and central Israel.

Geva (Hebrew: גֶּבַע, lit. Hill) is a kibbutz in the Jezreel Valley in Israel. Located near the city of Afula, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gilboa Regional Council. In 2021 it had a population of 605.

The Harod Valley (Hebrew: עמק חרוד, romanized: Emek Harod) is a valley in the Northern District of Israel. It is the eastern part of the Jezreel Valley,a transitional zone that extends to the Beit She'an Valley. From south it locked by Mount Gilboa and by the Issachar Plateau from north. It is named after the Ma'ayan Harod ("Spring of Harod", i.e., "Spring of Goliath") at the edge of the valley. It is naturally separated from the western part of the Jezreel valley by a watershed. While the Jezreel Valley is drained via the Kishon River to the Mediterranean Sea, the Harod Valley is drained through the Harod Stream ("Nahal Harod", "Wadi Jalud" in Arabic), which flows from Givat HaMoreh via Beit She'an Valley into the Jordan River. Ma'ayan Harod is the largest of the springs emerging on the northern slopes of Mount Gilboa. The source of the spring as well as other springs in the Beit She'an Valley to the east, comes from fresh rainwater that percolate into the limestone hills of Samaria and collect in an underground water reservoir beneath the areas of the Palestinian cities of Nablus and Jenin. The water emerges from the hills as they incline north towards the valleys. At this valley the waters emerge from a natural cave known as "Gideon's Cave".The valley covers about 40 sq.km. and is intensely cultivated. It is a corridor 18 km. long and 5 km. max wide. The exact border between the Harod Valley and the Beit She'an Valley depends on the conventions. For example, according to soil and precipitation parameters the border is the Sde Nahum - Beit Alfa line, while according to the climate, the border is defined by Kfar Yehezkel. The climate of the valley transitions from the Mediterranean climate of the western part of the Jezreel Valley to the arid dry-steppe climate of the Jordan Valley. There is a fault line between Mount Gilboa and the floor of the valley, with many spring along the line. Until the mid-20th century the valley was swamped, similarly to the Jordan Valley. Now the swamps are drained.

Gilboa Prison (Hebrew: בית הסוהר גלבוע) is a high security prison in northern Israel, less than 6 km (4 mi) from the West Bank. It was built in 2004.

Kfar Yehezkel (Hebrew: כְּפַר יְחֶזְקֵאל, lit. Yehezkel Village) is a moshav ovdim in northern Israel. Located in the Jezreel Valley, six kilometres southeast of Afula, it falls under the jurisdiction of Gilboa Regional Council. In 2021 the moshav had a population of 1,254.
