Leipzig Riverside Forest

The Paußnitz is a river of Saxony, Germany. It is a branch of the White Elster near Leipzig.

Fockeberg is a Schuttberg in the south of Leipzig Saxony, southeastern Germany, and is actually a pile of rubble left over from the bombing during World War II.

The Batschke, also Floßgraben, is a small river of Saxony, Germany. It flows into the Pleiße near Leipzig. Much of its course has been disrupted by lignite mining.

The Clara-Zetkin-Park (colloquially Clara-Park) is a park in Leipzig. From 1955 until 2011 it was Leipzig's largest park with an area of 125 hectares (309 acres) and was called Zentraler Kulturpark Clara Zetkin (Clara Zetkin Central Culture Park). The name was changed in 2011 and since then the Johannapark and the Palmengarten have officially been considered independent parks (previously they belonged to the Clara Zetkin Central Culture Park). Since 2011, only the previous Scheibenholzpark and König-Albert-Park (named after Albert of Saxony) are called Clara-Zetkin-Park. The park, named after the politician and women's rights activist Clara Zetkin (1857-1933), is located on the southwestern edge of the Stadtbezirk Mitte - about two kilometers (1.2 mi.) southwest of the city center on the edge of the Musikviertel. The park represents the connection between the northern and southern parts of the Leipzig Riverside Forest.

The Leipzig University of Applied Sciences, in German the Hochschule für Technik, Wirtschaft und Kultur (HTWK), is a Fachhochschule in Leipzig, in the Saxony region of Germany. It offers a combination of practice-oriented teaching and application-driven research, with a particularly broad spectrum of engineering and technical disciplines, as well as in the fields of economics, social science and culture. It offers more than 40 degree courses. There are currently about 6,200 students enrolled at HTWK. Leipzig.

The Saints Bridge (German: Heilige Brücke) is a footbridge in Leipzig. It crosses the Elstermühlgraben, which utilises the old course of the White Elster.

The Johannapark is an 11 hectares (27.2 acres) park near the city center in Leipzig. In the southwest it merges seamlessly into the Clara Zetkin Park and together with it and the Palmengarten forms a large park landscape that continues in the north and south in the Leipzig Auenwald.

The Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst Leipzig (GfZK) (English: Gallery for Contemporary Art) is an exhibition center for contemporary art and a museum for art post 1945 in Leipzig, Germany.

Leipzig-Mitte is one of 10 boroughs (Stadtbezirke) of Leipzig, located in the center of the city. It includes numerous architectural monuments. Most of them are located in the subdivision "Zentrum", which is sited inside the Inner City Ring Road and the Promenadenring: the Opera, the Europahaus, the Gewandhaus, the City-Hochhaus at the Augustusplatz, the Wintergartenhochhaus, the St. Thomas Church, the St. Nicholas Church, the New Town Hall, the Old Town Hall at the marketplace, the Leipzig University.In the southwest of the borough, there is located a part of the Clara-Zetkin-Park and the Federal Administrative Court. In the northern part of the borough, there are Leipzig Zoo and Leipzig Central Station. In the south-east of the borough, there are the Bavarian train station, the Russian Memorial Church and the Alte Messe near the Monument to the Battle of the Nations in the neighboring borough of Probstheida. The exit Leipzig-Mitte of the Bundesautobahn 14 is situated about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away in the north of Leipzig.

Leipzig University Library (German: Universitätsbibliothek Leipzig), known also as Bibliotheca Albertina, is the central library of the University of Leipzig. It is one of the oldest German university libraries.

The Saxon Psychiatric Museum (Sächsisches Psychiatriemuseum) is a small museum in Leipzig and deals with the history of lunatic asylums and psychiatry. It is organized by the Durchblick association, an initiative for people affected by psychiatry in Leipzig. It was founded in 2000. The special exhibitions deal with individual fates, careers and institutions: the life stories of the court president Daniel Paul Schreber (1842–1911) and the Saxon dialect poet Lene Voigt (1891–1962) the biographies and therapeutic concepts of doctors and psychiatrists such as Christian August Fürchtegott Hayner (1775–1837) and Hermann Paul Nitsche (1876–1948) the development of psychiatric institutions in Saxony in the Middle Ages (Hospital St. Georg) up to the sanatorium and nursing homes (Sonnenstein Castle, Thonberg private institution, Dösen sanatorium).

Leipzig Prison (Strafvollzugseinrichtung Leipzig, later Justizvollzugsanstalt Leipzig) was a prison in Leipzig, Germany. Built together with an adjacent court building in 1906, it was used as a prison until 2003. During East German rule, a secret part of the prison was used as the central execution site of East Germany. Between 1960 and 1978, 18 Nazi war criminals were executed at Leipzig Prison. In 1981, Werner Teske was the final person executed here. The prison was used until 2003, the site is now used as an extension of the nearby court building, with the execution site remaining as a memorial site.
