The Washington Township Public School District is a comprehensive community public school district that serves students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from Washington Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprised of 11 schools, had an enrollment of 7,202 students and 651.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.1:1.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "FG", the fourth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.

The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park, located in Mantua Township, New Jersey, consists of a 66-million-year-old 6-inch (150 mm) bone bed set into a 65-acre (26 ha) former marl quarry. It is currently the only facility east of the Mississippi River that has an active open quarry for public Community Dig Days. Formed at the end of the Cretaceous Period during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event, this rich fossil deposit is abundant in marine life which is indicative of the shallow sea that once covered the area that would become Southern New Jersey. The fossil park is undergoing renovations to become the site of the Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park Museum and will be available for school, scout, camp, and public programs once construction is complete. It is currently closed to the public and will reopen after the completion of the museum in 2023. The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park is owned and operated by Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey thanks in part to a generous donation from Jean and Ric Edelman.

The George Jr. and Sarah Morgan House, also known as the Olde Stone House, is a historic Georgian style house located at 208 Egg Harbor Road in Washington Township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. Built c. 1765, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 8, 2019, for its significance in architecture.

Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) is a public community college with two campuses New Jersey, one in Sewell (Gloucester Main Campus) and one in Vineland and Millville (Cumberland Branch Campus). The college was established in 1966 as Gloucester County College. In 2014 the college changed its name to Rowan College of Gloucester County when Rowan University and Gloucester County College entered into a partnership. The college then expanded in 2019, combining Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) and Cumberland County College to become Rowan College of South Jersey. The college now offers conditional dual enrollment with Rowan University depending on GPA. While then GCC took the Rowan name, the community college maintains its independence with its own Board of Trustees and administration.RCSJ has articulation and credit transfer agreements with many area and online colleges and universities, and several dual enrollment agreements. Academic areas include Nursing and Allied Health (an area with selective admissions, unlike most other programs), the Gloucester County Police Academy and related degrees, and continuing education. As of February 2012, RCSJ has about 266 acres (1.1 km2) of grounds on the main Gloucester Campus, on which are twelve buildings, two of which include the headquarters of other Gloucester County organizations. It has an art gallery, a walking and jogging trail, and community gardens. Student life at the college includes KotoriCon, an anime convention, as well as many other activities.

KotoriCon was an annual two-day anime convention held during January at Rowan College at Gloucester County (formerly known as Gloucester County College) in Sewell, New Jersey. It was sponsored by the college's Japanese Anime Guild and KotoriCon's name came from the Japanese for little bird, inspired by the colleges roadrunner mascot. The convention was designed to be family-friendly. The convention ran its final event in 2020.

Pitman High School is a comprehensive community public high school in Pitman, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, serving students in ninth through twelfth grades as the lone secondary school of the Pitman School District.As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 343 students and 33.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 10.2:1. There were 20 students (5.8% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 3 (0.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) is a four-year vocational-technical public high school located in Deptford Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Gloucester County Vocational-Technical School District. The school has a Sewell mailing address. GCIT offers nine full-time programs. Students must apply and be selected to attend GCIT. GCIT currently accepts approximately 350 students per year. Acceptance is based on final marking period grades from 7th grade and the beginning marking period grades for 8th grade, as well as state standardized test scores, attendance and a mandatory shadow visit. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,559 students and 103.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.1:1. The Gloucester County Special Services School District is a special education public school district headquartered in the Sewell section of Mantua Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, whose schools offer educational and therapeutic services for students of elementary and high school age from across the county who have emotional of physical disabilities that cannot be addressed by their sending districts. As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had 101.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis).

The Investors Bank Performing Arts Center is a 2,400-seat theater located in Washington Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, that is one of South Jersey's major entertainment venues. Completed in 1998, the 2,400-seat Center was originally designed as the auditorium for Washington Township High School, built to hold the school's 2,000 student body. During the planning stages of the facility, officials decided that the auditorium should host large scale productions in an effort to bring local and regional entertainment to the area. Now known as the Investors Bank Arts Center, the center originally opened its doors on September 1, 1998, with a production of Rodgers and Hammerstein's The King & I.

The location has become renowned for its paleontology and is similar to many of the sites studied by early paleontologists, particularly Edward Drinker Cope. It is also home to the Barnsboro Inn, the oldest bar in New Jersey.Sewell is also home to Rowan College of South Jersey Gloucester Main Campus (formerly Rowan College at Gloucester County) and the Gloucester County Institute of Technology, both located within Deptford Township.

Pitman is a borough in Gloucester County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. As of the 2020 United States census, the borough's population was 8,780, a decrease of 231 (−2.6%) from the 2010 census count of 9,011, which in turn reflected a decline of 320 (−3.4%) from the 9,331 in the 2000 census. The borough was named for Rev. Charles Pitman, a Methodist minister.
