Gloucester County Vocational-Technical School District

The Gloucester County Special Services School District is a special education public school district headquartered in the Sewell section of Mantua Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, whose schools offer educational and therapeutic services for students of elementary and high school age from across the county who have emotional of physical disabilities that cannot be addressed by their sending districts. As of the 2019–20 school year, the district, comprised of one school, had 101.2 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis).

The Gloucester County Institute of Technology (GCIT) is a four-year vocational-technical public high school located in Deptford Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, operating as part of the Gloucester County Vocational-Technical School District. The school has a Sewell mailing address. GCIT offers nine full-time programs. Students must apply and be selected to attend GCIT. GCIT currently accepts approximately 350 students per year. Acceptance is based on final marking period grades from 7th grade and the beginning marking period grades for 8th grade, as well as state standardized test scores, attendance and a mandatory shadow visit. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,559 students and 103.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 15.1:1. There were 85 students (5.5% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 20 (1.3% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

KotoriCon was an annual two-day anime convention held during January at Rowan College at Gloucester County (formerly known as Gloucester County College) in Sewell, New Jersey. It was sponsored by the college's Japanese Anime Guild and KotoriCon's name came from the Japanese for little bird, inspired by the colleges roadrunner mascot. The convention was designed to be family-friendly. The convention ran its final event in 2020.

Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) is a public community college with two campuses New Jersey, one in Sewell (Gloucester Main Campus) and one in Vineland and Millville (Cumberland Branch Campus). The college was established in 1966 as Gloucester County College. In 2014 the college changed its name to Rowan College of Gloucester County when Rowan University and Gloucester County College entered into a partnership. The college then expanded in 2019, combining Rowan College at Gloucester County (RCGC) and Cumberland County College to become Rowan College of South Jersey. The college now offers conditional dual enrollment with Rowan University depending on GPA. While then GCC took the Rowan name, the community college maintains its independence with its own Board of Trustees and administration.RCSJ has articulation and credit transfer agreements with many area and online colleges and universities, and several dual enrollment agreements. Academic areas include Nursing and Allied Health (an area with selective admissions, unlike most other programs), the Gloucester County Police Academy and related degrees, and continuing education. As of February 2012, RCSJ has about 266 acres (1.1 km2) of grounds on the main Gloucester Campus, on which are twelve buildings, two of which include the headquarters of other Gloucester County organizations. It has an art gallery, a walking and jogging trail, and community gardens. Student life at the college includes KotoriCon, an anime convention, as well as many other activities.

Benjamin Clark House is located in Deptford, Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1769 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 25, 1973.

Tall Pines State Preserve is a 110-acre (45 ha) nature preserve in Gloucester County, New Jersey, that opened in November 2015. The first state park in Gloucester County, it is located on Bark Bridge Road in Deptford Township and the Sewell section of Mantua Township.The project was a cooperative effort of the South Jersey Land and Water Trust, the Friends of Tall Pines, Gloucester County Nature Club, and the New Jersey Green Acres Program.

Wenonah is a borough in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the borough's population was 2,278, reflecting a decline of 39 (-1.7%) from the 2,317 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn declined by 14 (-0.6%) from the 2,331 counted in the 1990 Census. It is located approximately 10 miles (16 km) south of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Wenonah was established as a Borough by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 10, 1883, from portions of Deptford Township, based on the results of a referendum that was held two days earlier. The borough was named for the mother of Hiawatha in Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's work The Song of Hiawatha.It is a dry town, where alcohol cannot be sold.The borough had the 29th-highest property tax rate in New Jersey, with an equalized rate of 4.120% in 2020, compared to 3.212% in the county as a whole and a statewide average of 2.279%.

Deptford Township High School (also Deptford High School) is a four-year comprehensive community public high school that serves students in ninth through twelfth grades, located in Deptford Township, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States, operating as the lone secondary school of the Deptford Township Schools. As of the 2020–21 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,009 students and 85.3 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.8:1. There were 314 students (31.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 70 (6.9% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Wenonah School District is a community public school district that serves students in preschool through sixth grade from Wenonah, in Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States.As of the 2018–19 school year, the district, comprising one school, had an enrollment of 177 students and 19.8 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 9.0:1. In the 2016–17 school year, Wenonah had the 37th smallest enrollment of any school district in the state, with 177 students.The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "I", the second-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.For seventh through twelfth grades, public school students attend Gateway Regional High School, a regional public high school that also serves students from the boroughs of National Park, Westville and Woodbury Heights, as part of the Gateway Regional High School District. Deptford Township (pronounced DEP-ford) is a township in Gloucester County, New Jersey, in the United States. As of the 2010 United States Census, the township's population was 30,561, reflecting an increase of 3,798 (+14.2%) from the 26,763 counted in the 2000 Census, which had in turn increased by 2,626 (+10.9%) from the 24,137 counted in the 1990 Census.Deptford was first formed on June 1, 1695, at which time it was known as Bethlehem. It was incorporated as a township by an act of the New Jersey Legislature on February 21, 1798, as one of the state's initial group of 104 townships formed under its new Township Act. Over the centuries, portions of the township were taken to create Washington Township (February 17, 1836), Woodbury Borough (March 27, 1854; now Woodbury City), West Deptford Township (March 1, 1871), Wenonah (March 10, 1883), Westville (April 7, 1914) and Woodbury Heights (April 6, 1915).Deptford is a suburb of Philadelphia, located on the eastern side of the Walt Whitman Bridge, one conduit of which joins southern New Jersey with Philadelphia. It is located 10 miles (16 km) southeast of Philadelphia and 50 miles (80 km) northwest of Atlantic City.

The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park, located in Mantua Township, New Jersey, consists of a 66-million-year-old 6-inch (150 mm) bone bed set into a 65-acre (26 ha) former marl quarry. It is currently the only facility east of the Mississippi River that has an active open quarry for public Community Dig Days. Formed at the end of the Cretaceous Period during the Cretaceous-Paleogene extinction event, this rich fossil deposit is abundant in marine life which is indicative of the shallow sea that once covered the area that would become Southern New Jersey. The fossil park is undergoing renovations to become the site of the Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park Museum and will be available for school, scout, camp, and public programs once construction is complete. It is currently closed to the public and will reopen after the completion of the museum in 2023. The Jean and Ric Edelman Fossil Park is owned and operated by Rowan University in Glassboro, New Jersey thanks in part to a generous donation from Jean and Ric Edelman.

Jesse Chew House is located in the Sewell section of Mantua Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey, United States. The house was built in 1772 and was added to the National Register of Historic Places on October 18, 1972.
