Connaught Cadet Training Centre (Connaught CTC) (French: Centre d'instruction des cadets de Connaught; CIC Connaught), is a training centre for Royal Canadian Army Cadets, Royal Canadian Air Cadets, and Royal Canadian Sea Cadets since 1989. It is located at the Connaught Range and Primary Training Centre (CRPTC), in Ottawa, Ontario, and trains approximately 500 cadets each summer in 3, 4, 6, and 9 week courses. Administered by the Canadian Forces, the program is funded through the Department of National Defence. .

March Academy is a small secular private school located in Ottawa’s west end (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada). March Academy was established in 2003, and in 2006, the school expanded and updated its facilities. March Academy offers education for students in grades 1 - 8. March Academy offers an alternative education to the public system for these students. The school colours are blue and gold (yellow gold). This colour scheme is reflected throughout the March Academy crest (logo), clothing and building. (See above)

South March is a dispersed rural community in Kanata North Ward, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The older community has been permeated by the newer Morgan's Grant subdivision, which has largely replaced it.

Georges Vanier Catholic School is an elementary school in the community of Beaverbrook, in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. (Next door is the W. Erskine Johnston Public School.) It has classes from junior kindergarten to grade 6. The school is in the Zone 2 (Kanata) school board district of the Ottawa Catholic School Board.

Richcraft Recreation Complex is a major recreational facility that is located in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Groundbreaking on the complex took place back in December 2011; the official grand opening took place in November 2013. The $43.14-million recreation complex has an eight-lane swimming pool, a leisure and therapeutic pool, two full gymnasiums, a fitness and cardio centre, multi-purpose rooms, a lighted sports field with artificial turf and an outdoor skate park. The complex owned by the City of Ottawa is located at 4101 Innovation Drive, in the Kanata North Business Park. In 2011 Richcraft Homes agreed to pay $500,000 for a 15-year naming rights agreement for the recreation complex. The complex is also an access point to the Trillium Woods, a 15-kilometre multi-use trail network for hiking and mountain biking.

Kanata (, kə-NAT-ə) is a suburban district in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located about 22 km (14 mi) west of the city's downtown core. As of 2021, Kanata had an urban population of 137,118. Before it was amalgamated into Ottawa in 2001, it was one of the fastest-growing cities in Canada and the fastest-growing community in Eastern Ontario. Located just to the west of the National Capital Commission Greenbelt, it is one of the largest of several communities that surround central Ottawa.

The David Florida Laboratory is the Canadian Space Agency's spacecraft assembly, integration and testing centre, in Shirleys Bay, just west of central Ottawa. It is operated by the Canadian Space Agency and rented out to Canadian and foreign aerospace and telecommunications companies and organizations for qualifying space bound equipment such as communication or scientific satellites, or components made to be placed on satellites or installed in a space station. The laboratory was named to honour C. David Florida, a leading Canadian pioneer in space research. Officially opened in September, 1972, the lab has been expanded over the years to accommodate the demand for its services. There are many support facilities such as storage areas, clean rooms, electrodynamic shakers, anechoic chambers, space (thermal and vacuum) simulation chambers and in-house mechanical, electrical and electronic shops. In the past the David Florida Laboratory has tested satellites for Brazil, Indonesia, and the European Space Agency. Inmarsat has designated it as their authorized antenna test house. It has also tested Canadian satellites such as RADARSAT-1 and previously tested the Special Purpose Dexterous Manipulator (Dextre) which now forms part of the Mobile Servicing System of the International Space Station. It completed work on the Orbiter Boom Sensor System which first flew on Shuttle Discovery during STS-114. The Laboratory worked on RADARSAT-2 prior to launch in 2007. Recently the David Florida Laboratory has completed the integration and environmental testing of the Maritime Monitoring and Messaging Microsatellite (M3MSat). This is a technology demonstration satellite that will be used to assess the utility of having in space an Automatic Identification System (AIS) for reading signals from vessels to better manage transport in Canadian waters. M3MSat was scheduled to be launched in 2015.

Shirleys Bay is a bay of the Ottawa River, about sixteen kilometres (10 miles) from downtown Ottawa in Ontario, Canada. Shirleys Bay also includes a significant wetland and nature preserve that is part of an Important Bird and Biodiversity Area the Lac Deschênes-Ottawa River IBA. It is also the name of a Canadian military and civilian telecommunication research campus that is located on the shore of the bay. Organizations with facilities at the site include Defence Research and Development Canada, Communications Research Centre, the Canadian Space Agency's David Florida Laboratory, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Firearms Training Unit, Department of Defence firearms training area, and the Connaught National Army Cadet Summer Training Centre. In October 1952, the Canadian government set up an observatory at the site to attempt to measure magnetic or radio noise disturbances. The area includes the Innis Point Bird Observatory and the Shirley's Bay Crown Game Preserve, which is managed by the Ottawa Duck Club.

Beaverbrook is a suburban neighbourhood in Kanata North Ward in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located within the former city of Kanata. Beaverbrook is known for its hedged houses and community facilities. The neighbourhood is bounded by the Kanata North Business Park to the north, March Road to the east, Campeau Drive to the south and Knudson Avenue & Weslock Way to the west. According to the Canada 2011 Census, the total population of the neighbourhood was 5,182.

The Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC; French: Centre de recherches sur les communications Canada) is a Canadian government scientific laboratory for research and development in wireless technologies, with a particular focus on the efficient use of radio frequency spectrum. Its mission is as follows: To perform wireless telecommunications research and development (R&D) that advances the efficient use of the radio spectrum, and serves as the government's leading source of scientific knowledge and technical advice for spectrum management, regulation and policy purposes; To support critical wireless telecommunications operational requirements of Government of Canada departments and agencies, such as National Defence and Public Safety; To take part in strategic R&D collaborations that leverage CRC's activities, resulting in knowledge and technology transfer that benefit Canadian industry, the economy and Canadians.

All Saints Catholic High School, opened September 2002, is a secondary school in the Kanata district of Ottawa, Ontario. The school is located in the Kanata North area of Kanata Lakes and serves the communities of Kanata and West Carleton. The school motto is Dei Gratia, Latin for 'The Grace of God'. In 2005, All Saints students chose "Eddie the Yeti" as the school mascot.

Earl of March Secondary School is an Ottawa-Carleton District School Board secondary school in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is located in suburban Kanata in the Beaverbrook neighbourhood near the Ottawa Public Library Beaverbrook Branch and the John G. Mlacak Centre. The school also serves the neighbourhoods of Kanata Lakes, Beaverbrook, Katimavik-Hazeldean, Richardson Ridge, and Morgan's Grant.
