Tarragona (Spanish: [taraˈɣona], Catalan: [tərəˈɣonə]) is a province of eastern Spain, in the southern part of the autonomous community of Catalonia. It is bordered by the provinces of Castellón, Teruel, Zaragoza, Lleida and Barcelona and by the Mediterranean Sea. The province's population is 795,902 (2018), about one fifth of whom live in the capital, Tarragona. Some of the larger cities and towns in Tarragona province include Reus, Salou, El Vendrell, Tortosa, Valls, Amposta. This province has 183 municipalities. The province includes several World Heritage Sites and is a popular tourist destination. There are Roman Catholic cathedrals in Tarragona and Tortosa.

L'Institut Pere Mata is a psychiatric hospital in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. The building was designed by the Catalan Modernist architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The hospital predates Hospital Sant Pau of Barcelona and it has a similar structure. Lluís Domènech i Montaner followed the structure of different buildings for different specialities. The building process took place from 1897 to 1912. Currently the building is still used as a psychiatric hospital, but one of the pavilions is not in medical use anymore and can be visited.

The Estadi Municipal de Reus, also known as Estadi Camp Nou Municipal, is a multi-use stadium located in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. It is currently used for football matches and home games of the Barcelona Dragons in the European League of Football. It was the previous home stadium of CF Reus Deportiu until 2020 and currently home stadium of Reus FC Reddis.

The Battle of Cambrils or the Massacre of Cambrils took place in December 1640 during the Reapers' War.The revolt had started in May–June 1640 and as a reaction the Spanish Army had occupied Tortosa in Catalonia in September. On December 8 a large army under Pedro Fajardo de Zúñiga y Requesens headed for Barcelona, passing through Cambrils. Here, a small force of Catalan rebels attempted to ambush this much larger force, before withdrawing into the town and attempting to defend it. After several days of bombardment and heavy fighting the Spanish captured the town. When the defenders tried to surrender, some 700 of them were massacred. The three leaders were quickly tried and executed on the garrote. The next day, more people were hanged and the city was sacked. The Spanish army then continued in the direction of Barcelona, taking Tarragona on December 24. Later this army was decisively defeated in the Battle of Montjuïc on January 23.

The Casa Gasull is a building in Reus, Catalonia, Spain, designed by Modernista architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner. The Casa Gasull was designed in 1910 and was finished in 1912. The building is close to Casa Rull, another Catalan Modernista building, also designed by Domènech i Montaner.

The Casa Rull is a building located at Carrer de Sant Joan, 27, 43201 in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. Since 1925, the City Council of Reus has owned the building, and is currently the headquarters of the Institute of Cultural Action for Reus. The building was designed in 1900 by the Modernista architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner and commissioned by the notary Pere Rull i Trilla of Reus. In 1996, it was renovated by the local architect Joan Figuerola. The building is in the Modernista style and has architectural, historical, artistic, cultural and social importance. It is adjacent to another Modernista building designed by Lluís Domènech i Muntaner, the Casa Gasull. Nowadays, as a public building of the city council, some cultural events take part in the building and the garden surrounding the building.

The area has always been an important producer of wines and spirits, and gained continental importance at the time of the Phylloxera plague. Currently it is known for its commercial activity, for being a centre for rock-climbing and as the birthplace of architect Antoni Gaudí.

The Gaudí Centre is a museum located in Reus, Catalonia, Spain. It is dedicated to Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí I Cornet. The Gaudí Center officially opened in May 2007, located in the center of the city, Plaça del Mercadal. It is a three-storied building designed by architects Joan Sibina, Toshiake Tange and Gabriel Bosques, which consists of Gaudí's artworks and documenting processes with advanced audio and visual technology.
