Gloucester Rural District

Gloucester ( GLOST-ər) is a constituency centred on the cathedral city and county town of the same name, represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament by Richard Graham of the Conservative Party.

Glevum (or, more formally, Colonia Nervia Glevensium, or occasionally Glouvia) was originally a Roman fort in Roman Britain that became a "colonia" of retired legionaries in AD 97. Today, it is known as Gloucester, in the English county of Gloucestershire. The name Glevum is taken by many present-day businesses in the area and also by the 26-mile Glevum Way, a long-distance footpath or recreational walk encircling modern Gloucester. [1]

North Cotswolds is a proposed constituency of the House of Commons in the UK Parliament. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, it will first be contested at the next general election.

The Westgate area of Gloucester is centred on Westgate Street, one of the four main streets of Gloucester and one of the oldest parts of the city. The population of the Westgate ward in Gloucester was 6,687 at the time of the 2011 Census.

The Old Crown Inn is a grade II listed pub house at 81 and 83 Westgate Street, Gloucester.

There are no records to state that the house was built in the 1200's. It was in fact built in the 1400's. The Dick Whittington Tavern, currently named Dick Whittington's, is a public house at 100 Westgate Street, Gloucester, built in the 13th century and known as Saint Nicholas House, possibly for the family of Richard Whittington (Dick Whittington), Lord Mayor of London. The building is grade I listed with Historic England. After multiple refurbishments, including adding a Georgian town house frontage in the 18th century, conversion to a shop in the 19th century, it finally became a public house in 1980.

Gloucester Shire Hall is a municipal building in Westgate Street, Gloucester. The shire hall, which is the main office and the meeting place of Gloucestershire County Council, is a grade II listed building.

Hyatt House, or Hyett House, is a grade II listed building at 91 Westgate Street in the English city of Gloucester. The building is of a timber frame with stone and was probably constructed in the 16th century. According to a plaque on the building, an earlier dwelling stood on the site at least as early as 1455. The current façade was probably constructed by Nicholas Hyett (1709–1777), a local lawyer and justice of the peace. In 1988 the building was converted to flats by Avondown Housing Association and Gloucester City Council.

66 Westgate Street is a grade II* listed building in Gloucester, UK. It has been listed by Historic England under the Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Act 1990.Originally a merchant's house, 66 Westgate Street is thought to have been built during the 15th century but has been substantially remodelled several times in successive centuries. It is one of few surviving timber-framed houses in Gloucester, which makes it of particular historical interest. Architectural investigations have shown that it was originally attached to another house, which has since been demolished. The third storey is thought to have been added around 1600 to increase the height of the building. Cross-gabled bays were created in around 1700, and the building was a pair of shops, whose window shutters have been preserved.The building used to house Hedley's coffee shop which closed in the summer of 2018, it will be reopen as Brimble's Café.

Redcliffe College was a mission training centre and theological college based in Gloucester, England, specialising in training men, women and families working in Christian mission and ministry anywhere in the world. In July 2020 it was announced that Redcliffe would be merging with All Nations Christian College, a similarly positioned mission training college based in Ware, Hertfordshire, north of London. Redcliffe was international and interdenominational, and is a member of the Evangelical Alliance and Global Connections. Redcliffe College had completed its merger with All Nations by September 2020.

Gloucester Crown Court is a Crown Court venue which deals with criminal cases at Bearland, Gloucester, England. The court, which is located at the back of Gloucester Shire Hall, is a grade II listed building.

St Nicholas Church is a historic church in Westgate Street in the city of Gloucester, England, under the care of The Churches Conservation Trust. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building. Its truncated spire is a landmark in the city centre.
