Sims is a river of Bavaria, Germany, near the country's southern border. It is approximately six kilometers long, and is fed by the Simssee, a small lake. It flows into the Rohrdorfer Achen, close to its confluence with the Inn, near Rosenheim.

The maximum depth of the lake is 22.5 m. It drains into the river Sims. The retention period of the Simssee is about one and a half years and its catchment area covers 59.51 km². It is the last remain of Lake Rosenheim, which stretched over the area at the end of the Würm glaciation. It is the third largest city in Upper Bavaria with over 63,000 inhabitants. Rosenheim is the economic centre and the busiest place in the region.

The district entirely surrounds the city of Rosenheim, which is independently administered but hosts the district's administration; both the city and the district share the "RO" designation for their license plates.

Rosenheim poltergeist claim

The Rosenheim poltergeist claim is the name given to claims of a poltergeist in Rosenheim in southern Bavaria in the late 1960s by German parapsychologist Hans Bender. Bender alleged that electrical and physical disturbances in the office of the lawyer Sigmund Adam were caused by the telekinetic powers of 19-year-old secretary Annemarie Schaberl. Bender's investigation has been criticized for omitting key details and avoiding naturalistic explanations.
