Kessel (river)

Donauwörth station is a railway station in southern Germany. It is located south-west of the city of Donauwörth in Bavaria. The station is at the intersection of the Nuremberg–Augsburg line and the Ingolstadt–Neuoffingen railway from Ulm to Regensburg. The Ries Railway also runs from Donauwörth to Aalen.

The Wörnitz is a river in Bavaria, Germany, a left tributary of the Danube. Its source is near Schillingsfürst, in the Middle Franconia region of Bavaria. It flows south, through the Nördlinger Ries, and flows into the Danube in Donauwörth. Towns along the Wörnitz include Wörnitz, Dinkelsbühl, Wassertrüdingen, Oettingen, Harburg and Donauwörth.

The Zusam is a river in Bavaria, Germany and a right tributary of the Danube. Its source is just north of the village of Könghausen, in the Unterallgäu district of Bavaria. It flows north for approximately 97 km, before converging into the Danube near the town of Donauwörth. Towns and villages along the Zusam include Obergessertshausen, Memmenhausen, Muttershofen, Ziemetshausen, Dinkelscherben, Fleinhausen, Zusmarshausen, Zusamzell, Wertingen, Frauenstetten, and Buttenwiesen.

The Schmutter is a river in Bavaria, Germany, a right tributary of the Danube. The Schmutter's source is 6 km (3.7 mi) southwest of Schwabmünchen, in the Swabia region of Bavaria. The Schmutter flows north, and for several tens of kilometers it flows parallel to the Lech, at only a few km west of the Lech. It flows into the Danube near Donauwörth. Towns along the Schmutter include Fischach, Neusäß, Gablingen and Mertingen.

Donauwörth (German: [ˌdoːnaʊˈvøːɐ̯t] (listen)) is a town and the capital of the Donau-Ries district in Swabia, Bavaria, Germany. It is said to have been founded by two fishermen where the rivers Danube (Donau) and Wörnitz meet. The city is part of the scenic route called "Romantische Straße" (Romantic Road). The city is situated between Munich and Nuremberg, 46 km north of Augsburg.

The Battle of Donauwörth was the first engagement of Napoleon's 1805 Austrian campaign. French forces under marshals Joachim Murat and Nicolas Soult beat an Austrian army corps under Kienmayer on 7 October at Donauwörth and crossed the Danube.

As one of the 40-odd self-ruling imperial abbeys of the Holy Roman Empire, Kaisersheim was a virtually independent state. Its abbot had seat and voice at the Imperial Diet where he sat on the Bench of the Prelates of Swabia. At the time of its secularisation in 1802, the Abbey covered 136 square kilometers and has 9,500-10,000 subjects.
