Grünberg station

Grünberg (German pronunciation: [ˈɡʁyːnbɛʁk] ) is a town in the district of Gießen, in Hessen, Germany. In 1980, the town hosted the 20th Hessentag state festival.

The Battle of Grünberg (21 March 1761) was fought between French and allied Prussian and Hanoverian troops in the Seven Years' War at village of Grünberg, Hesse, near Stangenrod. The French, led by the Jacques Philippe de Choiseul, inflicted a significant defeat on the allies, taking several thousand prisoners, and capturing 18 military standards. The allied loss prompted Duke Ferdinand of Brunswick to lift the siege of Cassel and retreat.

Lehnheim (German: Bahnhof Lehnheim) is a station in Lehnheim, Hesse, Germany on the Vogelsberg Railway (Gießen – Fulda).

Göbelnrod (German: Bahnhof Göbelnrod) is a railway station in Göbelnrod, Hesse, Germany. The former through station has been converted to a flag stop.

Göbelnrod is a village and urban district of Grünberg in the district of Gießen, in Hesse, Germany.

Wirberg is a former monastery complex in the district of Giessen. It is located on the eastern edge of the municipality of Reiskirchen between Saasen and Göbelnrod, and about eight miles north-west of Grünberg. The church was once the Protestant Church serving the Grünberg districts of Göbelnrod, Beltershain, Harbach, Weitershain and Reinhardshain. Today, it is used as a church on special occasions.

Schloss Laubach is a castle in Laubach, Hesse, Germany and serves as the seat of the Counts of Solms-Laubach. Schloss Laubach is first mentioned in a list of properties of the Hersfeld monastery in 786 C.E. The Hagen-Münzenberg family were granted the authority over Laubach as a fief. A castle was built in the thirteenth century. In 1255 the estate was granted to the Lords of Hanau, and later it was owned by the Counts of Falkenstein. The Counts of Solms-Laubach bought the castle in 1418. Frederick Magnus I, Count of Solms-Laubach made the castle the official residence of the House of Solms-Laubach. In 1475 Kuno, Count of Solms-Laubach was granted permission by Frederick III, Holy Roman Emperor to add fortifications to the castle and the surrounding town. The architect Licher Baum Wolff Werner rebuilt the castle towers in 1533. The castle is made up of three horseshoe-shaped buildings that interlink. Three of the four original fortified round towers still stand, and baroque hoods were later added onto them.

Ettingshausen is an inhabited place in Middle Hesse, Germany. It is part of the municipality (Gemeinde) of Reiskirchen, in the district (Landkreis) of Giessen. It has around 1900 inhabitants.

Laubach is a town of approximately 10,000 people in the Gießen region of Hesse, Germany. Laubach is known as a Luftkurort, a climatic health resort. It is situated 23 kilometres (14 mi) east of Gießen. Surrounding Laubach are the towns of Hungen, Grünberg, Schotten and Lich.

Ilsbach (in its upper course: Streitbach, in its middle course: Sausel) is a river of Hesse, Germany. It flows into the Seenbach in Mücke.

Mücke (Hess) station is a Keilbahnhof ("wedge station") and, along with Nieder Ohmen station, is one of two remaining stations in the municipality of Mücke, Hesse, Germany. It is located between the two Mücke districts of Flensungen and Merlau, 28.9 kilometres from Gießen on the Vogelsberg Railway (Vogelsbergbahn), which continues to Fulda. Previously, the Friedberg–Mücke railway branched off here via Laubach and Hungen to Friedberg.
