The Danube Sinkhole (German: Donauversinkung or Donauversickerung) is an incipient underground stream capture in the Upper Danube Nature Park. Between Immendingen and Möhringen and also near Fridingen (Tuttlingen), the water of the Danube sinks into the riverbed in various places. The main sinkhole is next to a field named Brühl between Immendingen and Möhringen. The term "sinking" is more accurate than "seeping", because, instead of just distributing into the soil, the Danube's water flows through caverns to the Aachtopf, where it emerges as the river Radolfzeller Aach, a tributary of the Rhine.

Tuttlingen station is the most important of the eight railway stations in Tuttlingen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. The station was built between 1928 and 1933 at a new location and replaced the original much smaller Tuttlingen station built in 1869. Tuttlingen station is a railway node at the intersection of the Plochingen–Immendingen railway and the Tuttlingen–Inzigkofen railway. The station is connected to the InterCity network and is one of the most important stations in the Ringzug ("Ring Train") network. It serves as the main hub for public transport in the Tuttlingen district.

The Black Forest Railway from Offenburg to Konstanz connects with the Danube Valley Railway from Donaueschingen to Ulm meet at the station. Immendingen is also served by trains on the Wutach Valley Railway, which branches at the neighbouring Hintschingen station via Blumberg to Waldshut; regular passenger services have been restored on the section of the line to Blumberg since 2004 as part of the Ringzug concept. Tuttlingen (Alemannic: Duttlinga) is a town in Baden-Württemberg, capital of the district Tuttlingen. Nendingen, Möhringen and Eßlingen are three former municipalities that belong to Tuttlingen. Tuttlingen is located in Swabia east of the Black Forest region in the Swabian Jura.

The Battle of Tuttlingen was fought in Tuttlingen on 24 November 1643 between the French army in Germany led by Marshal Josias Rantzau, composed of French soldiers and the so called Weimarans or Bernhardines, German troops once in service of Bernard of Saxe-Weimar. They were defeated by the forces of the Holy Roman Empire, Bavaria and Spain led by Franz von Mercy. Technically, Mercy led a military force composed of his Bavarian army, supported by Imperial, Spanish, and Lorrainer troops. The French army was wiped out in a surprise attack in heavy snowfall along with French strategic gains since 1638. The French court suppressed the defeat and it remains largely unknown today, even among historians of the war.
