Towamensing Trails is a census-designated place (CDP) in Penn Forest Township, Pennsylvania, United States. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The community is located directly south of Albrightsville in the southern part of the Poconos, bordered by Pennsylvania Route 903 on the northwest, separating it from Albrightsville, and by Pennsylvania Route 534 on the northeast. PA 903 leads southwest 12 miles (19 km) to Jim Thorpe, the Carbon County seat, and north 7 miles (11 km) to Interstate 80 near Blakeslee, while PA 534 leads south 9 miles (14 km) to U.S. Route 209 and west through Hickory Run State Park 14 miles (23 km) to White Haven.

Tunkhannock Creek is a 19.2-mile-long (30.9 km) tributary of Tobyhanna Creek in the Poconos of eastern Pennsylvania in the United States. Tunkhannock Creek joins Tobyhanna Creek near Blakeslee in Monroe County. U.S. Geological Survey Gauging Station 01447680 is located approximately 5 miles (8 km) upstream of this confluence.

Blakeslee is an unincorporated community in Tobyhanna Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. Blakeslee is located at the intersection of PA 115 and PA 940. A post office was established in Blakeslee in 1884 and named after Jacob Blakeslee, the first postmaster. The post office was located near Burger Road near his 300-acre homestead. Jacob Blakeslee would later serve as justice of the peace for the small community. The Blakeslee United Methodist Church was established in 1897. The Blakeslee Diner used to be a restaurant in Blakeslee, but it burned down a few years ago. The Blakeslee flea market is popular with the surrounding community.

Indian Mountain Lake is a census-designated place (CDP) in Carbon County and Monroe County, Pennsylvania. It is part of Northeastern Pennsylvania. The Carbon County portion of the CDP is located in Penn Forest Township, while the Monroe County portion is in Tunkhannock and Chestnuthill townships. As of the 2020 census, the population of the community was 4,733. There are 3,262 single-family residential building lots in the community as of 2020 records.

The 1983 Like Cola 500, the 10th running of the event, was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series racing event held on July 24, 1983, at Pocono International Raceway in Long Pond, Pennsylvania. Like Cola, the sponsor of the race, was an unsuccessful cola soft drink that was distributed and sold through the United States of America from 1982 to approximately 1985. During the early 1980s, the NASCAR Winston Cup Series was plagued with top teams running big engines and finishing in third place to avoid inspection. Only manual transmission vehicles were allowed to participate in this race; a policy that NASCAR has retained to the present day.

Jonas is an unincorporated community in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. The community is located on Route 534 in Polk Township. It is split between the Effort ZIP code of 18330 and the Kunkletown ZIP code of 18058.Trexler Boy Scout Reservation is located just southeast of Jonas. Polk Township Volunteer Fire Company has their sub-station located behind Hotel Jonas on Jonas Road. It currently housed their retired 1954 GMC along with an active engine and utility truck.Hotel Jonas is a big part of the Village of Jonas and has been around for many years. Jonas Snyder purchased the original inn building and surrounding land in 1858 and his family built the existing hotel in 1901. The Jonas Hotel began as a small inn that was known as "Sterner's", a rest stop for early travelers through northeastern Pennsylvania. It was situated on a stagecoach road that connected the southwestern end of the Pocono area with towns to the north such as White Haven and cities of Wilkes-Barre and Scranton. The road is presently named State Highway 534.

Tunkhannock Township is a township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 7,037 at the 2020 census. Tunkhannock Township comprises the communities of Blakeslee and Long Pond. The most noteworthy feature of this township is the Tunkhannock creek, which forms "Long Pond", and is designated by the PA DEP as an Exceptional Value Waters (EV). The Bethlehem Authority, Nature Conservancy, Wildlands Conservancy County of Monroe Open Space Program, and PA Department of Forest and Waters have protected thousands of acres. Tunkhannock Township, PA is home to many species of globally rare, threatened, and endangered plants and animals and has been described as one of the last "great places".In Long Pond, Pennsylvania National Diversity Inventory found 35 rare, threatened or endangered species or ecological communities. The butterfly community and collection of rare plants found in Long Pond "likely represent the best assemblage of rare and unusual species of any site or habitat in Pennsylvania." Making Long Pond one of the most unique natural areas in the Northeast US.

Pocono Raceway (formerly known as the Pocono International Raceway in early years) is a 2.5-mile (4.0 km) tri-oval track in Blakeslee, Pennsylvania. The track has held a variety of events since its opening in 1969, including NASCAR, IndyCar Series, and IMSA GT Championship races. The facility is owned by Mattco, Inc. and led by track chief executive officer Nick Igdalsky. After over a decade of planning and construction delays, Pocono Raceway opened in 1969 under the control of David Montgomery. Montgomery quickly left any involvement with the speedway after him and investor Joseph Mattioli disagreed with the facility's future plans, with Mattioli taking over control of the venue. Under Mattioli's tenure, the main tri-oval opened two years after the venue's initial opening. Pocono Raceway initially faced heavy financial turmoil throughout much of the 1970s, but was able to recover starting in the mid-1980s with the success of its NASCAR races. Pocono Raceway received major expansion and upgrades in the 1990s and 2000s with the addition of seating and renovation of various amenities at the track.

Pocono Lake Preserve is an unincorporated private development located in Tobyhanna Township in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Pocono Lake Preserve is located on the north shore of Pocono Lake, south of Pennsylvania Route 940 between Blakeslee and Pocono Pines.

Sun Valley is a census-designated place in NW Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania on the west side of Route 115 and the south flank of Pohopoco Mountain. The Pohopoco Creek starts in Sun Valley and flows south to Gilbert then west to Beltzville Lake and the Lehigh River. New Jersey Camp Jaycee for people with special needs is located in the CDP, which uses the Effort zip code of 18330. [1] As of the 2010 census the population was 2,399 residents.
