Montgomery Ward Building (Burlington, Vermont)

CityPlace Burlington (previously named Burlington Square Mall and Burlington Town Center) was a formerly enclosed shopping mall. Located on the Church Street Marketplace open-air mall in Burlington, Vermont, United States, it opened in 1976. The mall's anchor stores were Macy's and L.L.Bean. The western portion of the mall closed in fall 2017 for redevelopment. The eastern portion remains standing but shuttered as of 2022.

The Church Street Marketplace is an uncovered outdoor pedestrian shopping and dining mall in Burlington, Vermont, consisting of the four blocks of Church Street between Main and Pearl Streets. The mall was initially conceived in 1958 and was built in 1980-81 to a design by Carr, Lynch Associates of Cambridge, Massachusetts. It encompasses about 86 storefronts and is managed by the Church Street Marketplace Commission. Major retailers include five national chain stores as well as local retailers of clothing, home-wares, books, and other goods. It is the site of festivals throughout the year. Events such as the South End Art Hop and public galleries such as The Firehouse Gallery and Pine Street Art Works provide a forum for the visual arts. The American Planning Association named the Church Street Marketplace one of America's "Great Public Spaces" for 2008. The marketplace is also home to dozens of restaurants, bars, and coffee shops.

The Ethan Allen Engine Company No. 4 is a historic former fire and police station at 135 Church Street in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1887 for a private fire company, it is a fine local example of 19th-century commercial architecture. It served the city as a fire and police station until the 1960s, and is now used as a commercial space. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971, and is a contributing property to the City Hall Park Historic District.

The First Baptist Church is a historic church located at 81 St. Paul Street in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1864, it is a significant example of early Italianate ecclesiastical architecture in the state. It was designed by Boston architect John Stevens. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

The Chittenden-3-3 Representative District is a two-member state Representative district in the U.S. state of Vermont. It is one of the 108 one or two member districts into which the state was divided by the redistricting and reapportionment plan developed by the Vermont General Assembly following the 2000 U.S. Census. The plan applies to legislatures elected in 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010. A new plan will be developed in 2012 following the 2010 U.S. Census. The Chittenden-3-3 District includes a section of the Chittenden County city of Burlington defined as follows: Consisting of that portion of the City of Burlington encompassed within a boundary beginning at the intersection of Maple and Willard Streets, then westerly along Maple Street to the intersection of St. Paul Street, then southerly along St. Paul Street to the intersection of Kilburn Street, then westerly along Kilburn Street to the intersection of Pine Street, then southerly along Pine Street to where the railroad track parallels Pine Street, then northwesterly along the railroad track to the intersection of Maple Street, then westerly along Maple Street to the shore of Lake Champlain, then northerly along the shore of Lake Champlain to the intersection of the northern boundary line of the property to the north of the Moran Plant, then easterly along the boundary line to the intersection of the railroad tracks, then northerly along the railroad tracks to an intersection with a straight-line extension of Sunset Court, then northeasterly along the straight-line extension of Sunset Court and continuing along Sunset Court to its intersection with North Avenue to include all residences on the southeasterly side of Sunset Court, then southeasterly along North Avenue to the intersection of Strong Street, then easterly along Strong Street to the intersection of Pitkin Street, then northerly along Pitkin Street to the intersection of Manhattan Drive, then easterly along Manhattan Drive to the intersection of Spring Street, then southeasterly along Spring Street to the intersection of Archibald Street, then easterly along Archibald Street to the intersection of North Union Street, then southwesterly and southerly along North Union Street to the intersection of Pearl Street, then easterly along Pearl Street to the intersection of Willard Street, then southerly along Willard Street to the point of beginning. The rest of Burlington is in Chittenden-3-1, Chittenden-3-2, Chittenden-3-4, Chittenden-3-5 and Chittenden-3-6. As of the 2000 census, the state as a whole had a population of 608,827. As there are a total of 150 representatives, there were 4,059 residents per representative (or 8,118 residents per two representatives). The two member Chittenden-3-3 District had a population of 8,865 in that same census, 9.2% above the state average.

Built in 1816, the Unitarian Universalist Meeting House (formerly known as The Brick Meeting House) is the oldest remaining place of worship established by settlers in Burlington, Vermont. It is located along the northern side of the intersection of Pearl Street and the Church Street Marketplace. The building is a contributing property of the "Head of Church Street" Historic District, in combination with the Masonic Temple (built in 1897) and the Richardson Building. The historic district was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 15, 1974.The Unitarian Universalist Meeting House is home to the First Unitarian Universalist Society of Burlington, Vermont, which is a member congregation of the Unitarian Universalist Association and Northern New England District.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington (Latin: Dioecesis Burlingtonensis) is a diocese of the Roman Catholic Church in the New England region of the United States, comprising the entire state of Vermont. The Diocese of Burlington was canonically erected on July 29, 1853 by Pope Pius IX. Its territories were taken from the former Diocese of Boston. The Burlington See is a suffragan diocese of the Archdiocese of Boston. Bishop Christopher J. Coyne has been the diocesan bishop since 2015. The cathedral church is Saint Joseph's in Burlington.

The First Methodist Church of Burlington is a historic church located at 21 Buell Street (corner of S. Winooski Avenue) in Burlington, Vermont. Built in 1869 to a design by Alexander R. Esty, it is the city's only example of ecclesiastical Romanesque Revival architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Burlington, Vermont, United States, is the former cathedral church of the Catholic Diocese of Burlington. The building is located at 20 Pine Street with grounds bounded by Pearl, St. Paul and Cherry Streets. In 2018, it was announced that the building would no longer serve as a Catholic church. The building is presently vacant, and in June 2019 it was listed for sale by Donahue & Associates.

The United States District Court for the District of Vermont (in case citations, D. Vt.) is the federal district court whose jurisdiction is the federal district of Vermont. The court has locations in Brattleboro, Burlington, and Rutland. The Court was created under the Judiciary Act of 1791 under the jurisdiction of the Eastern Circuit Court. Under the Midnight Judges Act, the Circuits were reorganised and this Court was assigned to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit where it has remained since. Originally created with one Judgeship, in 1966 a second Judgeship was added. Appeals from the District of Vermont are taken to the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit (except for patent claims and claims against the U.S. government under the Tucker Act, which are appealed to the Federal Circuit). The United States Attorney's Office for the District of Vermont represents the United States in civil and criminal litigation in the court. As of December 10, 2021 the United States Attorney is Nikolas P. Kerest.

Burlington City Arts (formerly The Firehouse Gallery, or The Center, or the Firehouse Center for the Visual Arts) is an art gallery, art education/studio centre and cultural events space in Burlington, Vermont. The building was originally built as the Ethan Allen Firehouse on Church Street in 1889. The building is owned by the City of Burlington. Burlington City Arts uses the building for its exhibits, lectures, and educational programs. The gallery has been open since 1995.

The City Hall Park Historic District encompasses one of the central economic, civic, and public spaces of the city of Burlington, Vermont. Centered on City Hall Park, the area's architecture encapsulates the city's development from a frontier town to an urban commercial center. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.
