Galice is an unincorporated community in Josephine County in southern Oregon, United States. It is at the eastern end of Bear Camp Road.

The Rand Ranger Station is a Bureau of Land Management compound consisting of eight historic buildings located in the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest in southwest Oregon. It was built by the United States Forest Service and the Civilian Conservation Corps as a district ranger station for the Galice Ranger District. The ranger station property was transferred to the Bureau of Land Management in 1970. Today, the ranger station office serves as a visitor center. The Rand Ranger Station is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Indian Mary Park is part of the Josephine County Parks system in the U.S. state of Oregon. Bordering the Rogue River, the 61-acre (25 ha) park is along Merlin–Galice Road, about 16 miles (26 km) northwest of the city of Grants Pass. The heavily used park is the county's most popular in summer.The park was named for Mary Peters, who was known as "Indian Mary". Amenities include a boat ramp, a public pay telephone, a disc golf course, and three restrooms, including two with showers. Campsites include places for tents and sites with utility hook-ups for travel trailers, as well as two five-person yurts provided with furniture, electricity, lighting, and heat. The park's entrance station has ice, firewood, and other items, and provides information. Registered campers have access to the park's dump station. The boat ramp, about 250 yards (230 m) downstream of an older one that entered relatively swift water and was not always usable, opened in August 2010.Sites may be reserved two days to nine months in advance. The county publishes a fee schedule for various kinds of camping and other uses of the park. Non-campers are generally charged a $2 day-use fee for parking. Annual passes are available, and people entering the park on foot, by bicycle, or on a horse do not have to pay the parking fee.

Grave Creek is a tributary, about 40 miles (64 km) long, of the Rogue River in southwestern Oregon in the United States.

The Whisky Creek Cabin is a rustic log cabin located in southwest Oregon along the section of the Rogue River that is designated as a National Wild and Scenic River. It is the oldest remaining mining cabin in the Rogue River canyon. The Bureau of Land Management purchased the cabin and surrounding property in 1973. The Whisky Creek Cabin is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.

Leland is an unincorporated community in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. It lies in the Klamath Mountains along Grave Creek, a tributary of the Rogue River.A post office was established in 1855 and McDonough Harkness was its first postmaster. A railroad was also built in the area and the station of Altamont, with a post office founded by Ben Parker that operated from 1884 to 1886. Altamont then became Leland in 1888, and Leland's post office was moved to the station, where it closed in 1943.

Merlin is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census it had a population of 1,615. The area is known for sport fishing and whitewater rafting on the Rogue River. Merlin's ZIP code is 97532. A new railroad station in this location in 1883 was called "Jump Off Joe" for a local stream. The station was renamed "Merlin" in October 1886. The name came from a railroad civil engineer who named it for the merlins (a type of falcon) he saw in the area. "McAllister" post office was established about a mile north of Merlin in 1885, then moved to the vicinity of the railroad station and renamed Merlin in 1891.

Hugo is an unincorporated community in Josephine County north of Grants Pass, Oregon, United States.

The Applegate River is a 51-mile (82 km)-long tributary of the Rogue River in the U.S. state of Oregon. It drains approximately 698 square miles (1,810 km2). Rising in northern California, it soon crosses the border and flows northeast then northwest to meet the Rogue about 6 miles (9.7 km) west of Grants Pass. It drains forested foothills of the Siskiyou Mountains along the Oregon–California border.

Hugo Community Baptist Church is a church and historic church building located in the rural community of Hugo, near Grants Pass, Oregon, United States.The church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.

Pleasant Valley is an unincorporated community in Josephine County, Oregon, United States. It is located about 11 miles (18 km) north of Grants Pass, just west of Interstate 5. The community, which is located along the route of the Applegate Trail, is the site of a pioneer cemetery, and at one time it had a school.
