Robertson Quay

Alkaff Bridge is a pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It spans the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, located in the Singapore River planning area within the Central Area. The steel truss bridge is 55 metres in length and weighs about 230 tonnes. It is shaped like a tongkang (a light boat used commonly in the early days to carry goods along rivers), and is situated near the former Alkaff Quay. Alkaff Quay was named after a prominent Arabian family, the Alkaffs, who were among the wealthiest in Singapore during the early 20th century. The bridge was built in 1997, as part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority's (URA) plan to create a promenade along both banks of the Singapore River. The bridge, completed in 1999, is one of three footbridges — Alkaff Bridge, Robertson Bridge and Jiak Kim Bridge — built at Robertson Quay to improve the pedestrian connectivity between the two river banks. It was painted by internationally acclaimed visual artist Pacita Abad.

Gallery Hotel (Chinese: 佳乐丽酒店; pinyin: Jiālèlì jiǔdiàn) was a four-star boutique hotel at Robertson Quay on Singapore River, in the Central Area of Singapore. Originally known as Gallery Evason Hotel, it was the first "HIP" (Highly Individual Places) hotel in Singapore, and the second in Asia, the first being in Japan.The InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay replaced Gallery Hotel since late 2017.

InterContinental Singapore Robertson Quay is an InterContinental hotel in Singapore. The hotel is located at Robertson Quay on the Singapore River. Originally the building was the Gallery Hotel which was replaced by InterContinental in late 2017.

Pulau Saigon (alternatively spelled as Pulo Saigon) was a small island in the Singapore River. It used to be located between the banks of Robertson Quay.The island was shown as a mangrove marsh in an 1839 map. Subsequent maps have shown it to be located closer to the northern bank of the river. It was first featured by name as Kampong Saigon on a map of 1878.In 1888, British projects to increase the width and depth of the Singapore River made it easier to access existing warehouses on Pulau Saigon, which in turn made other parts of the island commercially viable. Quays and bridges were built and many of the island's original buildings were demolished and replaced by those from new industries ranging from slaughtering cattle, manufacturing pottery, and burning rubbish. These former industrial enterprises of Pulau Saigon make it useful for archaeological study.Pulau Saigon became an extension of the mainland when the western arm of the river was drained in 1972. By 1988, the only extant buildings at Pulau Saigon were old warehouses in disrepair. In 1991, the eastern arm of the river was drained as well and the island was completely merged with the mainland at Magazine road. It is no longer depicted on modern maps of Singapore. In February and March 2016, an exhibit at the Archaeological Library of the National University of Singapore by Debbie Ding featured speculative examples of artefacts from the island.

The Clemenceau Bridge is a pre-stressed concrete road bridge across the Singapore River in Singapore. The first bridge was opened in 1940 and was refurbished in 1991. It was named after French Prime Minister Georges Clemenceau, who visited Singapore in 1920. The road, Clemenceau Avenue and Clemenceau Avenue North, was named after him, between Newton Circus and Havelock Road.The first bridge could travel at 100 metres long and 18 metres wide. Boats can travel under the bridge up to 2 metres high. In 1989, it was being demolished to make way for the Central Expressway. After 1991, it was being rebuilt, the structure - ITS Centre, was being completed in 2000. It is also close to Fort Canning MRT station.

Ellenborough Market, also known as Teochew Market, New Market, Sin Pa Sat and Pasar Bahru, was a market on Ellenborough Street along the Singapore River in Singapore. The market was demolished following a fire in 1968.

Tan Si Chong Su, or Ancestral Hall of the Tan Clan, is a Chinese temple in Singapore. It is located on Magazine Road in the Singapore River Planning Area within Singapore's central business district. It was constructed between 1876 and 1878 as the ancestral temple for those with the same Tan surname, based on the premise that Chinese people with the same surname would share a common ancestry and therefore belong to the same clan. The Temple also dedicated to Kai Zhang Sheng Wang (開漳聖王)，the Patron Deity and founder of Zhangzhou City in China. The temple is also known as the "Tan Seng Haw" and Po Chiak Keng (保赤宫, also written as Bao Chi Gong and other variants), meaning "palace for the protection of the innocent", reflecting its earlier role as a place that provided help for those in disputes as well as new Chinese immigrants in Singapore.

Hong San See (traditional Chinese: 鳳山寺; simplified Chinese: 凤山寺; pinyin: Fèngshān sì; Pe̍h-ōe-jī: Hōng-suann-sī) is a Chinese temple in Singapore, and is located at Mohamed Sultan Road in the River Valley Planning Area, within the Central Area. Hong San See Temple was constructed between 1908 and 1913, erected by migrants from Nan An County in Fujian province with materials imported from China. Built on a small hill, the temple once overlooked the sea. The temple's vicinity now mainly houses bars, restaurants and expensive apartments. Singapore Lam Ann Association manages the temple.

The State Courts of Singapore (formerly the Subordinate Courts) is one of the two tiers of the court system in Singapore, the other tier being the Supreme Court. The State Courts comprise the District and Magistrate Courts—both of which oversee civil and criminal matters—as well as specialised courts such as the coroner's courts and the Small Claims Tribunals. The State Courts comprise district and magistrate courts and hear both civil and criminal cases that do not fall under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court. Over 90% of all judicial cases in Singapore are heard in the State Courts. Its annual volume averages about 350,000 cases.The district judges, magistrates, and registrars of the State Courts are all legal service officers and serve under the supervision and control of Singapore's Legal Service Commission. District judges and magistrates are appointed by the president upon the recommendation of the chief justice.

Raffles Design Institute is a for-profit, design-centric educational institution headquartered in Singapore. Its flagship campus (i.e. Raffles Design Institute Singapore) was established in 1990 by the company Raffles Education Corporation Limited.

The Sri Thendayuthapani Temple, better known as the Chettiars' Temple, is one of Singapore Hindu community's most important monuments. Completed in 1984, it replaces a much earlier temple built by the Chettiars (Indian moneylenders). The temple was gazetted as a National monument of Singapore on 20 October 2014.This Shaivite temple, dedicated to the six-faced Lord Subramaniam (Lord Muruga), is at its most active during the festival of Thaipusam, where the procession ends here. It is here, during the annual Thaipusam festival, that hundreds of pilgrims, their bodies pierced by hooks, spears and spiked steel structures called kavadi, end their walk from the Sri Srinivasa Perumal Temple on Serangoon Road. The act of penance is carried out by devotees in gratitude to Lord Subramanian or Murugan, son of Lord Siva, for granting their prayers of supplication.

Ord Bridge (Chinese: 渥桥) is a pedestrian bridge in Singapore. It spans the Singapore River at Clarke Quay, located in the Singapore River Planning Area within the Central Area. The Ord Bridge was built in 1886 to replace a demolished footbridge known as the ABC Bridge. The steel truss bridge was named after Colonel Sir Harry St. George Ord (1819–1885), the first British Governor of the Straits Settlements (1867–1873) after it was given the Crown Colony status. The new name was also an abbreviation of its old name, Ordnance Bridge, which was a reference to the British ordnance depot along Magazine Road. It was also known as Toddy Bridge as there were toddy shops in nearby Pulau Saigon, an island on Singapore River which has since been reclaimed. Now it is commonly referred to as ORD bridge in relation to National servicemen reaching their operationally ready date, and celebrating at the bridge itself On 3 November 2008, the bridge was selected for conservation as part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority's expanded conservation programme.
