Bowen Court

Mission Court is a bungalow court located at 567 N. Oakland Ave. in Pasadena, California. The court consists of eight buildings containing fourteen residential units which surround a central courtyard. Built in 1913, the court was designed by architect J. F. Walker. The houses in the court were designed in the Mission Revival style; the court is the oldest Mission Revival bungalow court in Pasadena. The houses' designs feature broken parapets along the roofs and porches with either recessed arch entrances or tiled shed roofs. The courtyard includes two buttressed piers topped by lamps.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.

Cypress Court is a bungalow court located at 623–641 N. Madison Ave. in Pasadena, California. The court consists of eight houses surrounding two central walkways. The homes are designed in the Colonial Revival style and feature gable roofs and gabled porches supported by columns. Contractor Arthur G. Gehrig built the court in 1928.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.

The Theodore Parker Lukens House is a historic house, located at 267 North El Molino Avenue, in Pasadena, California. Built in 1886–87, the house is among the oldest standing in Pasadena. Architect Harry Ridgway designed the Victorian house; while its design is mainly influenced by the Stick and Eastlake subtypes, it also includes elements of the Queen Anne style. The house features multiple deep gables and gabled dormers with decorative stickwork hanging from the edges. The two-story front porch is supported by decorative posts and features patterned bargeboards above the first floor designed to resemble curtains.

The Newcomb House is a historic bungalow located at 675-677 N. El Molino Ave. in Pasadena, California, United States. The house was built in 1914 for Dr. R. H. Newcomb. The house is an example of an airplane bungalow, an uncommon style of bungalow named for its resemblance to a biplane. The broad first-floor roof is designed to resemble a wing when viewed from the small second floor, and the strut and fretwork on the porch gable is similar to that of an airplane. The American Craftsman style was also used in the house's detailed woodwork. The house is one of the later houses built in its neighborhood, an area containing many bungalow designs, and is therefore part of a historic local progression of bungalow designs.The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 2, 1982.

Rancho San Pascual, also known as Rancho el Rincón de San Pascual, was a 14,403-acre (58.29 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Los Angeles County, California given to Juan Marine in 1834 by Mexican Governor José Figueroa. The former Rancho San Pascual land includes present-day cities of Pasadena, South Pasadena, and portions of San Marino, and the unincorporated communities of Altadena and San Pasqual.

The Lamb Funeral Home in Pasadena, California was founded in 1929 by Charles F. Lamb. Charles passed the business on to his son, Lawrence Lamb, who in turn passed it on to his daughter Laurieanne Lamb-Sconce. It was a trusted family-run business until a gruesome scandal was uncovered on January 20, 1987. In the 1980s, the funeral home on Orange Grove Boulevard was run by Jerry Sconce and his wife, Laurieanne Lamb-Sconce, the granddaughter of Charles F. Lamb. The crematory was run by their son, David Sconce. In the first year that David ran the cremation services, business went from 194 cremations annually to 1,675 and continued to exponentially grow to 8,173 in 1985. The two ovens at the crematory were running 16 to 18 hours a day and David would have the bodies packed in, sometimes making it a competition with employees to see who could fit the most bodies into an oven. His employees dubbed him "Little Hitler". After an unsuccessful bid to construct a large crematorium failed and their crematorium burned down, David Sconce began cremating remains in kilns which led to criminal investigations being opened. Jerry and David were arrested on January 29, 1987, under the suspicion of stealing gold from corpses. A former employee testified that David had boasted about making US$5,000–6000 a month selling the gold to a jeweler. Laurieanne and Jerry were later charged with embezzling $100,000 (equivalent to $277,000 in 2024) in interest from 172 pre-paid funeral trust accounts. The three family members were initially charged with 41 criminal counts, most of them felonies.

A sixth building at 738 Santa Barbara was added in 1956; this building is not considered part of the historic court.The court was added to the National Register of Historic Places on July 11, 1983.
