Walygator Grand-Est is an amusement park located in Maizières-les-Metz, Lorraine, France. Since its opening in 1989, the park has had a succession of different names: Big Bang Schtroumpf (Smurf), Walibi Schtroumpf, Walibi Lorraine and now Walygator Parc.

Maizières-lès-Metz (French pronunciation: [mɛzjɛʁ lɛ mɛs], literally Maizières near Metz; Lorrain: Mach'ire) is a commune in the Moselle department, Grand Est, northeastern France. Anciently part of the Duchy of Lorraine, Maizières was within the Holy Roman Empire until 1766, when Lorraine was annexed by France. From 1871 to 1918, as part of Alsace-Lorraine, Maizières belonged to the German Empire as Maizières-bei-Metz. Between 1915 and 1918 the town's name was briefly Germanized to Macheren. During the German occupation from 1940 to 1944 it was known as Machern-bei-Metz. The amusement park Walygator is located in Maizières-les-Metz. The town gives its name to the now German Maizière family which, being Huguenots, had to emigrate from the Duchy of Lorraine to Prussia in the 17th century. Preserving the name of their town up to the present, prominent members of the family include Lothar de Maizière, last Prime Minister of the German Democratic Republic, the politician Thomas de Maizière and the general Ulrich de Maizière.

Talange (French pronunciation: [talɑ̃ʒ]; German: Talingen; Lorraine Franconian: Taléng/Taléngen) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.

The Amneville Zoo is a French zoological park of the Grand Est region, located in the Moselle valley, between Metz and the Luxembourg border, in the town of Amnéville. About 1,500 animals of 360 species are presented on 18 hectares. It is headed by its founder, Michel Louis, since 1986. Formed as a worker cooperative, it is owned by its employees-cooperators. Within the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA), it participates in several European Endangered Species Programme. It is also one of the few zoos in France to present gorillas and orangutans. With an average of 629,000 visitors per year between 2011 and 2015, it is one of the ten most popular zoos in France.

Hagondange (French pronunciation: [aɡɔ̃dɑ̃ʒ]; German: Hagendingen; Lorraine Franconian: Hoendéngen/Hoendéng) is a commune in the Moselle department in Grand Est in north-eastern France.It is located 20 km (12 mi) north of Metz and 20 km (12 mi) south of Thionville. La Tour de Guet, a tower from the twelfth century, is found within the commune.

Galaxie Amnéville (also known as Galaxie Mega Hall, Galaxie de Metz, Galaxie d'Amnéville or simply Le Galaxie) is an indoor arena located in the commune of Amnéville, France (a suburb of Metz). The arena is primarily used for concerts and other music-related events. However, it also houses handball tournaments.
