Gaskins is a hamlet on the Isle of Wight in England UK. It is on the B3330 (Carpenters Road), approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) West of St Helens, and approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) Northeast of Brading.

Located 3 miles (4.8 km) south of Ryde, the Tudor and Jacobean style house also has later additions. The house contains family militaria. It was occupied by the Oglander family from Norman times. Nunwell House is a Grade II* listed building.Nunwell House is situated to the northwest of Brading. Views of Brading harbour and St. Helens Road are visible from the house.

The ancient 'Kynges Towne' of Brading is the main town of the civil parish of the same name. The ecclesiastical parish of Brading used to cover about a tenth of the Isle of Wight. The civil parish now includes the town itself and Adgestone, Morton, Nunwell and other outlying areas between Ryde, St Helens, Bembridge, Sandown and Arreton. Alverstone was transferred to the Newchurch parish some thirty years ago. Brading has a population of 1,906 according to the 2021 Census.

St Helens is a village and civil parish located on the eastern side of the Isle of Wight. The village developed around village greens. This is claimed to be the largest in England but some say it is the second largest. The greens are often used for cricket matches during the summer and football in the winter, and also include a children's playground.The village is a short distance from the coast, about a ten-minute walk to St Helens Duver. The Duver was once the location of the island's first golf course (one of England's first golf courses), which for a while was almost as famous as the golf course at St Andrews. It is now a popular beach for tourists during the summer season and is protected by the National Trust. It is linked to other parts of the island by Southern Vectis bus route 8 serving Ryde, Bembridge, Sandown and Newport including intermediate villages.

Westridge is an area on the edge of Ryde on the Isle of Wight, based on the road junction of Westridge Cross. Its location on the outskirts of the largest town on the Island, around 1+1⁄2 miles from Ryde town centre, has led to the development of a number of out-of-town commercial and industrial units. A large Tesco Extra store in the area on the site of the former Ryde Airport. A garden centre has been developed opposite the Tesco Store and a golf centre to the other side. There is a long-established garage at Westridge Cross and another adjacent to the site of the former airport terminal building. Public transport is provided by Southern Vectis buses on route 3. Wightbus also provide route 20 to the Tesco store.

St Helen's with its 232-foot-long (71 m) single platform was the only intermediate stop on the 2+3⁄4-mile (4.4 km) branch line that connected Brading to the coast at Bembridge.
