MiMA (building)

The Pershing Square Signature Center is a complex of three Off-Broadway theatres in the Theatre Row section of West 42nd Street in New York City. It is on the first floors of the 43-floor MiMa Building apartment complex. Pershing Square Signature Center is the theatrical home and headquarters of Signature Theatre Company. The individual theaters are also available to rent and have hosted several notable productions. The New Group frequently presents their work at the Pershing Square Signature Center. The theatre derives its name from the Pershing Square Foundation, which donated $25 million to the theatre. The complex is more than a mile west of Manhattan's Pershing Square, which is also on 42nd Street. In October 2008, Signature announced the building of the Pershing Square Signature Center. Designed by Frank Gehry Architects, the Center comprises the three theatres, two rehearsal studios, a café and bar, bookstore, and offices all on one level. It opened in 2012.The Irene Diamond Stage has a seating capacity of 294 seats, the Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre has a seating capacity of 191 seats and the flexible Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre has a capacity of 199 to 250, depending on the seating configuration.

The West Side Airlines Terminal was one of three air terminals in Midtown Manhattan. Located at the southeast corner of Tenth Avenue and West 42nd Street, the terminal operated from 1955 to 1972 and served as a location where passengers could purchase tickets and check baggage before boarding buses that would transport them Newark Airport. It was later repurposed to accommodate other uses before being demolished to make way for a 63-story mixed-use building, MiMA, that opened in 2011.

10th Avenue is a proposed station, first planned as part of the 7 Subway Extension for the IRT Flushing Line (7 and <7>​ trains) of the New York City Subway. It would be located at 10th Avenue and 41st Street and have two tracks and two side platforms if built. Under the original 2007 plan, there would be one street-level entrance for each direction, and no crossovers or crossunders to allow free transfer between directions. The station was not built due to a lack of funding, but it could be completed if funding became available to build it. Various development proposals since 2009 have included completion of the station.

Stage 42 (known as the Little Shubert Theatre until July 2015) is a theatre in New York City on Theatre Row, about half a mile west of Broadway. Its address is 422 West 42nd Street, between 9th Avenue and Dyer Avenue. It was built in 2002 and has a seating capacity of 499, counting as an Off-Broadway theatre (fewer than 500 seats). The Little Shubert was the first Off-Broadway theatre in New York built from the ground up, and the first to be owned by the Shubert Organization. Built as part of a residential tower and opened in 2002, the Little Shubert was the first new theatre built by the Shubert Organization in New York City since 1928, when the Ethel Barrymore opened on West 47th Street. Features of Stage 42 include an auditorium with stadium seating providing proximity to the stage. The stage itself and the orchestra pit are comparable in size to the dimensions of many Broadway theatres. Stage 42 is one of the largest Off Broadway theatres but has proven to be an expensive venue to mount shows, partly due to contracts with theatrical unions. In 2011, theater producers speculated that Stage 42 might become a Tony-eligible Broadway house by the addition of one seat to bring it to the 500 seat minimum required for Tony eligibility; this has not happened, as going to 500 seats would require negotiating new contracts with the unions, raising costs further.

Playwrights Horizons is a not-for-profit Off-Broadway theater located in New York City dedicated to the support and development of contemporary American playwrights, composers, and lyricists, and to the production of their new work. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Adam Greenfield and Managing Director Leslie Marcus, Playwrights Horizons encourages the new work of veteran writers while nurturing an emerging generation of theater artists. Writers are supported through every stage of their growth with a series of development programs: script and score evaluations, commissions, readings, musical theater workshops, Studio and Mainstage productions.

The Theatre Row Building is a complex of five Off-Broadway theatres at 410 West 42nd Street on Theatre Row in Hell's Kitchen, Manhattan, New York City. The building is owned by the 501(c)(3) organization non-profit Building for the Arts and is the center piece of an effort to transform the adult entertainment district on 42nd Street between Ninth Avenue and Tenth Avenue into an Off-Broadway theater district.

Theatre Row is an entertainment district of Off Broadway theatres on 42nd Street in Midtown Manhattan west of Ninth Avenue. The space originally referred to a 1977 redevelopment project to convert adult entertainment venues into theatres between 9th and Tenth Avenues on the south side of 42nd Street. However with the success of the district the name is often used to describe any theatre on either side of the street from Ninth Avenue to the Hudson River as more theatres have been built along the street. The Actors Company Theatre (TACT) is an Off-Broadway theatre company founded in 1992 by a group of New York stage veterans. For several years, TACT produced many concert performances, a cross between a staged reading and a full production. In 2006, TACT began a residency at the Beckett Theatre on Theatre Row to produce two full plays a year. TACT focuses on reviving lesser-known productions that have not been performed in New York for several years. According to their website, their mission statement is "to present neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit, with a focus on creating theatre from its essence: the text and the actor's ability to bring it to life."

The Catholic Church of Sts. Cyril & Methodius and St. Raphael in Manhattan, New York City has since 1974 been administered as the seat of a Croatian national parish. It offers services in Croatian as well as services in English.Located at 502 West 41st Street, near the southwest corner of Tenth Avenue and an entrance to the Lincoln Tunnel, it was built from 1901 to 1903 as the Church of St. Raphael, for a different population: the poor Irish immigrants of the rough neighborhood known as Hell's Kitchen.: 368 

Hallo Berlin was a restaurant on Tenth Avenue between West 44th and 45th Streets in the Hell's Kitchen neighborhood of New York City. It consisted of a beer garden restaurant and a street cart. They served authentic German beer and cuisine like frankfurters, sauerkraut, potato pancakes, red cabbage, spätzle, wursts and other foods. Hallo Berlin's motto was: "New York's wurst restaurant." The owners announced the restaurant's closure in June 2017.There was also an outlet in Conklin, New York. The restaurants were operated by Rolf Babiel until his death in October 2009, and his wife and sons. Hallo Berlin's pushcart is located on 54th Street and Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. In 2004, New York magazine named it one of four "best power lunches" in the city. It was also awarded the Vendy Award in 2005, ranking first among New York City's street food vendors.

New York City Fire Department Rescue Company 1, also known as Rescue 1, is one of five special operations rescue companies of the New York City Fire Department (FDNY) that responds to rescue operations that require specialized equipment and training. It was organized on March 8, 1915.

New Dramatists is an organization of playwrights founded in 1949 and located at 424 West 44th Street between Ninth and Tenth Avenues in the Hell's Kitchen (Clinton) neighborhood of Manhattan, New York City. The members of New Dramatists participate in seven-year residencies to build up their playwriting skills and develop their careers. In addition to housing resident playwrights, New Dramatists also holds workshops for young authors. The organization hosts an annual luncheon at which actors and producers who have made contributions to American theatre are honored. Brian Stokes Mitchell, Glenn Close, and Meryl Streep are among past honorees.The New Dramatists have a library that is open to the public on weekdays.
