Bally's Evansville

USS LST-325 is a decommissioned tank landing ship of the United States Navy, now docked in Evansville, Indiana, US. Like many of her class, she was not named and is properly referred to by her hull designation (LSTs in service after July 1955 were named after U.S. counties and parishes). The ship was listed on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places in 2009. The property was added to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on 24 June 2009 and the listing was announced as the featured listing in the National Park Service's weekly list of 2 July 2009.

Louisville and Nashville Railroad Station, also known as L & N Station, was a historic train station located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1902 for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad, and was a Richardsonian Romanesque style rock-faced limestone building. It consisted of a three-story central block with two-story flanking wings, and a one-story baggage wing. It had projecting gabled pavilions and a slate hipped roof.: 2 The station was host to tenant railroads, in addition to the L&N. In 1935 the Chicago and Eastern Illinois Railroad closed its depot and ran its trains to the L&N's station. The Big Four (by this point, fully integrated into the New York Central Railroad) also ran its trains to the station. With the end of Illinois Central passenger trains into its Evansville station in 1941, the L&N station that year became the sole passenger train station in the city that year.Temporarily, immediately after the Ohio River flood of 1937, the trains serving the station were diverted to the Chicago & Eastern Illinois' deactivated depot.

Fred Geiger and Sons National Biscuit Company is a historic biscuit factory building located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1894, and is a two-story, brick building. It features decorative brickwork, segmental arched openings, and limestone detailing. It housed Fred Geiger and Sons, a manufacturer for the National Biscuit Company.: Part 1, p. 24 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

YWCA is a historic YWCA located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1924, and is a three-story, Tudor Revival style red brick clubhouse on a raised basement.: Part 1, p. 25 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

YMCA is a historic YMCA located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1924, and is a five-story, Tudor Revival style yellow brick clubhouse on a raised basement. It features terra cotta detailing.: Part 1, p. 25 It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

Orr Iron Company, also known as Shelby Steel-Orr Iron, was a historic building in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was built in 1912. It was demolished in 2008.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Willard Carpenter House, located at 405 Carpenter Street in downtown Evansville, Indiana, is one of two landmarks recognized as memorials to one of the city's most influential pioneers, philanthropist Willard Carpenter. The other is Willard Library which he built, endowed and gave to the people of the area. Willard Carpenter, born on March 15, 1803, at Strafford, Orange County, Vermont, was a son of Willard, Sr., and Polly (Bacon) Carpenter, and a descendant of the noted Rehoboth Carpenter family.Construction on Willard Carpenter's house, an early Evansville mansion, began in 1848 and was completed in 1849. It is a two-story, Greek Revival style dwelling constructed by local "mechanics" including carpenter Gottlieb Bippus and masons Knoll and Tenford. The brick for the 21" thick walls was made close by while other materials were brought down the Ohio River from Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Furniture was purchased by the Carpenters in New York and shipped to Evansville via New Orleans.When built the Carpenter house was one of three conspicuous Evansville landmarks (the Robert Barnes residence and the State Bank were the other two, both now demolished) and people came from many miles to view it. Its format of block massing, low hip roof with a deck and Greek Revival motifs (Doric-ordered portico, entablature with frieze board pierced by rectangular window, eaves dentil molding and roof cornice) are very similar to examples found in other Ohio River towns, notably Vevay and Madison, and are suggestive of New England heritage. The home passed from Carpenter ownership in the Depression years when the property was purchased by Funkhouser American Legion Post. In 1956, they sold the property to WTVW. Medco purchased the mansion in 1974 and restored the home to as close to original condition as possible. Medco stayed in the home until 1985, when it was purchased by WNIN (TV). It now also houses the offices of WNIN-FM.It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

St. John's United Church of Christ, originally known as St. John's Evangelical Protestant Church, is a historic United Church of Christ church located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. St. John's Parish Hall was built in 1921, and is a Tudor Revival style brick building.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.

The Grein Building, also known as the Waverly Block, Business Men's Association Building, BMA Building, or Green Building, was constructed from 1887–1889 in Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by Reid & Reid (the Reid brothers) and demolished in 1972. It was a 6-story brownstone and red granite Renaissance revival style building at 12 NW 2nd Street on the corner of 2nd Street and Sycamore Avenue.Originally the Business Men's Association building (a predecessor to the chamber of commerce), it was built on the site of the original Assumption Catholic Church and featured an 18-foot rusticated arch over its main entrance. The Grand Opera was adjacent. It was home to the Mercantile Commercial Bank before becoming known as the Grein Building when it was sold to Ann Grein in 1938. It was the "headquarters of Evansville’s mid-century oil boom" and had offices for prominent local lawyers. It was torn down in 1972 along with the Grand Theater and Vendome hotel, as part of an urban redevelopment project. The site became a parking garage.

Evansville Municipal Market, also known as Old City Market, is a historic public market located in downtown Evansville, Indiana. It was designed by Edward J. Thole of the architecture firm Clifford Shopbell & Co. and built between 1916 and 1918 for the city of Evansville. It is a two-story, Prairie School style brick building. It has a low red pantile roof with deep overhanging eaves. It was converted for use as a fire station in 1954.: 2  It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983.

The Greyhound Bus Terminal in downtown Evansville, Indiana, also known as the Greyhound Bus Station, is a Streamline Moderne-style building from 1938. It was built at a cost of $150,000. Its architects include W.S. Arrasmith who designed numerous other Greyhound depots. The terminal, at the corner of Third and Sycamore streets, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.In July 2008, the long-unused bus terminal and its site had been considered in discussions about potential locations for a new arena that would replace Roberts Municipal Stadium. By December, city council approved plans to build the Ford Center in another downtown location.In December 2011, then Mayor Jonathan Weinzapfel announced plans to turn the adjacent property into Bicentennial Park to celebrate the city's upcoming bicentennial in 2012.In 2016, a restaurant named Bru Burger opened inside the old terminal.
