McPherson High School

McPherson Township is a township in McPherson County, Kansas, in the United States.McPherson Township was organized in 1874.

McPherson ( ) is a city in and the county seat of McPherson County, Kansas, United States. As of the 2020 census, the population of the city was 14,082. The city is named after Union General James Birdseye McPherson, a Civil War general. It is home to McPherson College and Central Christian College.

McPherson College is a private college associated with the Church of the Brethren and located in McPherson, Kansas. It was chartered in 1887 and is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.

The McPherson County Courthouse in McPherson, Kansas is a historic three-story courthouse that was built in 1893. It was added to the National Historic Register in 1976.It was designed by architect John G. Haskell.: 29–30  The building was built in 1893. It is Richardsonian Romanesque in style and is built of Cottonwood Limestone from quarries near Strong City in Chase County. It is 104 feet (32 m) by 71 feet (22 m) in plan. It has a square central bell and clock tower which rises to 105 feet (32 m). The main entrance of the courthouse is in the base of the tower and features a Syrian arch.

McPherson Opera House is an historic opera building at 221 South Main Street in McPherson, Kansas. The house was built in 1888, opened in 1889 and added to the National Historic Register in 1972.

John R. Wright House is a historic Queen Anne-style house at 322 West Marlin Street in McPherson, Kansas, United States. The house was built in 1887 and added to the National Historic Register in 2002. John R. Wright (1841-1926) was born in New Jersey, grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio, and served in the American Civil War, losing his left arm in the battle of Fayetteville, West Virginia. He later became a homesteader and businessman in Kansas, and eventually served as County Clerk and also as a Postmaster.The house was deemed notable "for its historical association with John R. Wright and for its architectural significance as a Queen Anne Revival residence."

Kuns–Collier House is a historic house located at 302 S. Walnut Street in McPherson, Kansas. It is locally significant as an example of the Tudor Revival style of architecture.

Power Plant No. 1 is an historic oil-burning power plant at 414 West Elizabeth Street in McPherson, Kansas. The plant was added to the National Historic Register in 2007.It was built in three phases from 1934 to 1947, and in combination the work achieves a refined Art Deco style. The building held steam boilers and turbines.

McPherson County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kansas. Its county seat and largest city is McPherson. As of the 2020 census, the county population was 30,223. The county was named for James McPherson, a general in the American Civil War.
