David Adamany Undergraduate Library (UGL) is one of Wayne State University’s largest libraries built in 1997 named after the university's 8th president, David Adamany.

The Detroit Windsor International Film Festival (DWIFF), which ran from 2008 to 2012, was a publicly attended film festival held each June in the Detroit–Windsor region, with events taking place in both Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario. The festival was closely associated with Wayne State University as they incorporated their own pre-existing student film festival into the DWIFF and many of the festivities were held on Wayne State's campus in Midtown Detroit.

Wayne State University (WSU or simply Wayne) is a public research university in Detroit, Michigan. It is Michigan's third-largest university. Founded in 1868, Wayne State consists of 13 schools and colleges offering approximately 350 programs to nearly 24,000 graduate and undergraduate students. Wayne State University, along with the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, compose the University Research Corridor of Michigan. Wayne State is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity".Wayne State's main campus comprises 203 acres linking more than 100 education and research buildings. It also has three satellite campuses in Macomb and Wayne counties. The Wayne State Warriors compete in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC).

The Prentis Building and DeRoy Auditorium Complex consists of two educational buildings, the Meyer and Anna Prentis Building and the Helen L. DeRoy Auditorium, located respectively at 5201 and 5203 Cass Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, on the campus of Wayne State University. The buildings were built at the same time, and were designed by architect Minoru Yamasaki to interrelate functionally, spatially, and architecturally. The buildings were constructed at a critical point in Yamasaki's career when he was experimenting with ornamentation, light and shadow, and the use of pools and gardens to soften perception of standard International Style architecture. The complex was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.

The Wayne State University College of Engineering is the engineering college of Wayne State University, a public research university in Detroit, Michigan. With more than 29,000 alumni, it is one of the largest engineering colleges in Michigan. Founded in 1933, the College of Engineering has grown to include a variety of programs ranging from civil engineering, biomedical engineering and many others. It is located on Wayne State's main campus in Detroit in a building shared with the Danto Engineering Development Center. The current dean of engineering is Ali Abolmaali.

The Chatsworth Apartments is an apartment building located in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, within the campus of Wayne State University. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986.

The Santa Fe Apartments were an apartment building located in Detroit, Michigan. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986 and subsequently demolished by Wayne State University and removed from the National Register of Historic Places in 2022. The site is now the location of the Yousif B. Ghafari Hall.

Old Main is an academic building on the campus of Wayne State University. It is located at 4841 Cass Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan, on Wayne's main campus.

The Warren–Prentis Historic District is a historic district in Detroit, Michigan, including the east–west streets of Prentis, Forest, Hancock, and the south side of Warren, running from Woodward Avenue on the east to Third Avenue on the west. The district was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997.The district includes residential, commercial, institutional, religious and other buildings, and the majority of the pre-1930s building stock remains.

Purdy-Kresge Library is a library on the main campus of Wayne State University and is the main research library for the social sciences, humanities, arts education, and business fields. The library is located at 5265 Cass Ave Detroit, Michigan 48202, across the street from the Detroit Public Library. Originally constructed as two separate libraries connected by a single hallway in 1950, the library is now known as one library. The Purdy/Kresge Library offers a traditional library atmosphere, housing a large print collection as well as over 60 computers, and ample study space.

The Wayne State University historic district consists of three buildings on 4735-4841 Cass Avenue in Midtown Detroit, Michigan: the Mackenzie House (4735 Cass), Hilberry Theatre (4743 Cass), and Old Main (4841 Cass), all on the campus of Wayne State University. The buildings were designated a Michigan State Historic Site in 1957 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Detroit's Marwil Bookstore was a local book store, independently owned in Detroit, Michigan. It was founded in 1948 by Milton and Lenore Marwil. Marwil existed on the Wayne State University campus as a cultural attraction for the students and faculty of Wayne State University and from members of the surrounding communities who were interested in scholarly work. Marwil Bookstore closed its doors permanently in December 2013.
