Gand Church (Norwegian: Gand kirke) is a parish church of the Church of Norway in the large Sandnes municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. It is located in the borough of Sandved in the city of Sandnes in the far western part of the municipality. It is one of the two churches for the Gand parish which is part of the Sandnes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The large concrete church was built in a rectangular design in 1978 using designs by the architects Tonning and Øglænd. The church seats about 650 people.Due to its size, it is sometimes referred to as the Jæren Cathedral (Norwegian: Jærkatedralen). The church was consecrated on 3 December 1978. The church cost about 13.2 million kr, and it includes a large sanctuary, a chapel, office wing, Sunday school rooms, and two fellowship halls.

Sandneshallen is an indoor multi-use arena in Sandved, Norway. It consists of an athletics track with four oval lanes and other relevant facilities, and a sports field to be used for handball, basketball and floorball in the middle. The building was a cooperation between the Norwegian state, Rogaland County Municipality and the municipalities Sandnes (where it is located), Stavanger and Randaberg. It opened on 1 June 2011, and was the second indoor athletics venue in Norway, after Ranheimhallen.

Lundehaugen (Norwegian: Lundehaugen videregående skole) was an upper secondary school in the municipality of Sandnes, Norway. The school offered several majors, mainly music, dance and drama. The school had close links with Forus Upper Secondary School. It also offered majors in media and communication and sales/services. Since the fall of 2010, Lundehaugen is no longer an upper secondary school but rather a middle school with grades 8th-10th, with higher education moving to the new Vågen Upper Secondary School.

The Stangeland stone or N 239 is a Viking Age runestone engraved in Old Norse with the Younger Futhark runic alphabet in Stangeland, Norway, and the style of the runestone is the runestone style RAK. It was found on Stangeland Farm, where it has been moved several times and for many years was used as a bridge over a river.

Ganddal Station (Norwegian: Ganddal stasjon) is a railway station in the western part of the municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The station is located just south of the centre of the city of Sandnes in the Ganddal borough. It sits along the Sørlandet Line with long-distance service to Stavanger to the north and Kristiansand to the southeast. The station is also served by the Jæren Commuter Rail with local service between Stavanger and Egersund. The station is 18.49 kilometers (11.49 mi) south of Stavanger. The station is simply a shelter and it has no bathrooms, food services, or ticket counters.

Skeiane Station (Norwegian: Skeiane stasjon) is a railway station in the city of Sandnes which is in the western part of Sandnes Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The station is located in the southern part of the city centre, a short distance south of the Sandnes Sentrum Station. The station is 15.36 kilometres (9.54 mi) south of the city of Stavanger. The station has a shelter for waiting, but no food, restroom, or ticketing services.This station is served by the local Jæren Commuter Rail service running between Stavanger and Egersund on the Sørlandet Line. The station was the central station for Sandnes between 1955 and 1996 (called Sandnes Station), but was then replaced by a rebuilt Sandnes Sentrum Station. This station was then renamed Sandnes holdeplass (from 1996 until 2017), serving only as a stop for local trains, but officially it remained the main station. To reduce confusion with the now much more used station with similar name, the station was renamed to "Skeiane" from 12 August 2017.

It is located in the borough of Trones og Sentrum in the centre of the city of Sandnes in the far western part of the municipality. It is the church for the Sandnes parish and it is the seat of the Sandnes prosti (deanery) in the Diocese of Stavanger. The red, brick church was built in a long church design in 1882 using plans drawn up by the architect Hartvig Sverdrup Eckhoff. The neo-gothic church seats about 420 people.

Austrått is a borough of the city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The 6-square-kilometre (2.3 sq mi) borough lies just southeast of the main city centre of Sandnes. The borough has a population (2016) of 8,251. Prior to 2011, the borough of Bogafjell was a part of Austrått, but it was split off to form its own borough at that time. Høyland Church is located in Austrått.

It lies immediately south of Stavanger, the 4th largest city in Norway, and together the Stavanger/Sandnes area is the third-largest urban area in Norway. The urban city of Sandnes lies in the extreme western part of the vast municipality and it makes up about 5% of the total land area of the municipality. Sandnes is part of the traditional district of Jæren. The western part of the municipality is very urbanized while the eastern part of the municipality is very rural. The municipality is divided into 13 boroughs and the administrative centre is located in the borough of Trones og Sentrum, a borough in the city. There are several villages in the rural parts of the municipality including Hommersåk, Høle, Foss-Eikeland, Stokka, Forsand, Lysebotn, and Vatne. The 1,041-square-kilometre (402 sq mi) municipality is the 109th largest by area out of the 356 municipalities in Norway. Sandnes is the 7th most populous municipality in Norway with a population of 83,382 in 2023. The municipality's population density is 84.3 inhabitants per square kilometre (218/sq mi) and its population has increased by 20.8% over the previous 10-year period.

Sandnes Sentrum Station (Norwegian: Sandnes sentrum stasjon) is a railway station in the city of Sandnes which lies in the western part of Sandnes Municipality in Rogaland county, Norway. The station is located in the downtown, harbour area of the city of Sandnes (in the borough of Trones og Sentrum). The station is served by regional trains to Kristiansand and Stavanger along the Sørlandet Line and by local trains on the Jæren Commuter Rail network from Stavanger Station to Egersund Station. This station is located 14.78 kilometres (9.18 mi) south of Stavanger Station. The station has a waiting room, ticket machines, and food kiosks, but few other services.

Ganddal is a borough of the city of Sandnes in the west part of the large municipality of Sandnes in Rogaland county, Norway. The 12.1-square-kilometre (4.7 sq mi) borough is located in the southwest part of the municipality. Ganddal has a population (2016) of 7,318.It has one of the city's largest industrial areas and the Jæren Line railroad runs through the area, which is served by the commuter and goods station, Ganddal Station. The Norwegian National Road 44 runs through Ganddal's west side, providing easy access to central Sandnes. Ganddal is known for Stokkelandsvatnet which is a small lake in the centre of Ganddal. Sports clubs include Ganddal IL as well as the powerlifting and strongman club Ganddal AK. Ganddal has four schools. Ganddal skole and Sørbø skole which are primary schools. Sandnes Friskole is a private school from 1st to 10th grade and is organized by Familiekirken and Betel Hommersåk. Lundehaugen ungdomskole is a school from 8th to 10th grade.

Øster Hus Arena is a football stadium located in Sandnes, Rogaland, Norway. It is a part of Sandnes Idrettspark and is used for football matches as the home ground of Sandnes Ulf. Øster Hus Arena was opened in the beginning of the 2020 season. The stadium's seated capacity is 6,046. The stadium is located next to Sandnes Stadion, the former home ground of Sandnes Ulf.
