Plaza Fabini

Edificio London París (English: London Paris Building), also known as The Standard Life is a building located at the intersection of 18 de Julio Avenue and Río Negro in Centro, Montevideo, Uruguay. Built between 1905 and 1908 in an eclectic style, it has variously been ascribed to the design of British architect John Adams and Uruguayan Julián Masquelez. Between 1908 and 1966 it housed the department store London París.

The Museo de UTE is a museum located in Barrio Centro in Montevideo, Uruguay. Specialized in the history, science and technology of Uruguay, the museum is directly dependent on the UTE. It exposes diverse elements linked to the history of the Uruguayan company. To visit the museum, one must coordinate a guided tour from Monday to Friday from 9AM to 5PM. This is one of the museums that adheres to the day of the Uruguayan heritage. The museum has the peculiarity of being located in an old house. The collection shows part of the country's electrical history and the preservation of old parts, tools and an incandescent lamp from 1879.

The Church of Saint Michael Garicoits (Spanish: Iglesia de San Miguel Garicoits), popularly known as Iglesia de los Vascos (Spanish for "the church of the Basque people") is a Roman Catholic parish church in Montevideo, Uruguay.

Avenida 18 de Julio, or 18 de Julio Avenue, is the most important avenue in Montevideo, Uruguay. It is named after the date on which the country's first Constitution was sworn in, on July 18, 1830. It starts from Plaza Independencia at the limits of the Ciudad Vieja (the Old City), crosses the barrios Centro and Cordón and ends at the Obelisk of Montevideo in Tres Cruces, where it meets Artigas Boulevard. Although not the widest or longest avenue of the city, it is considered as the most important of Montevideo, both as a commercial center and because of the many tourist attractions along its length. It is also the district of Montevideo, as well as Ciudad Vieja, where art deco architecture is best preserved, an example of which is the Rinaldi, Díaz and Salvo palaces.

Edificio Lapido is a building on the 18 de Julio Avenue in Centro, Montevideo, Uruguay. It is a multifunctional building, built in 1933 and designed by architect Juan Aubriot. It is a fine example of the Uruguayan international architectural renewal of the early decades of the 20th century. It is a National Heritage Site since 1989.

Palacio Chiarino is a French Neoclassical building located on the corner of Plaza de Cagancha and Avenue 18 de Julio in the center of Montevideo, Uruguay. Its construction began in 1922 and finished in 1928. The architects Antonio Chiarino, Bartolome Triay and Gaetano Moretti was commissioned to create the design for the Arturo Soneira family. Moretti died before the building was completed. Moretti also designed Palcio Legislativo in Montevideo, Uruguay. Palacio Chiarino was added to the National Register of Historic Places and was declared a National Historic Landmark in 2011.

Libertador Avenue is a major avenue in Montevideo, Uruguay. It stretches north from the Legislative Palace in Aguada to Plaza Fabini in Centro, and is named after Juan Antonio Lavalleja, revolutionary figure and politician, who led the group of the Thirty-Three Orientals in the insurrection for the independence of Oriental Province.

The Montero Palace (Spanish: Palacio Montero) is an eclectic-historicist building located in the Centro neighborhood of Montevideo, Uruguay. Built in the 1920s on the north side of Plaza de Cagancha, the building is best known for having hosted the renowned Sorocabana Café on its ground floor for half a century.
