Hawk's Tor is an elongated hill, 329 metres (1,079 ft) high and running from WSW to ENE, on Bodmin Moor in the county of Cornwall, England, UK. It stands opposite the village of North Hill across the valley of the River Lynher. There is another Hawk's Tor (307 m) on Bodmin Moor, further west, near the village of Blisland.

Kilmar Tor (Cornish: Kil Margh) is an elongated hill, 396 metres (1,299 ft) high and running from SW to NE, on Bodmin Moor in the county of Cornwall, England. Its prominence of 118 metres qualifies it as a HuMP. Kilmar Tor is located on the eastern side of Bodmin Moor, about 2½ kilometres WSW of the hamlet of North Hill and 3½ kilometres north of Cornwall's highest village, Minions. It is surmounted by granite tors. There is trig point at the summit as well as a cairn and cist. The course of a dismantled railway runs around the hill to the south, evidence of the mining that used to be carried out in the area. On Kilmar Tor's northern flank is Twelve Men's Moor with Trewortha Tor and Hawk's Tor beyond the saddle. To the southeast is Bearah Tor and, to the south, Langstone Downs. Withy Brook runs roughly north to south past the western end of the hill and, to the east, open moorland descends to the valley of the River Lynher.

Polyphant (Cornish: Pollefans), recorded as Polefant c. 1170, is a village in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is north of the civil parish of Lewannick, five miles (8 km) west of the town of Launceston near the convergence of the River Inny and Penpont Water.The manor of Polyphant (Polefand) was recorded in the Domesday Book (1086) when it was one of several manors held by Nigel from Robert, Count of Mortain. There was half a hide of land and land for 3 ploughs. There were 2 ploughs, 3 serfs, 3 villeins, 6 smallholders, 2 acres of meadow, 1 acre of woodland, 10 acres of pasture, 7 cattle and 30 sheep. The value of the manor was 15 shillings.The disused quarries to the north of the village, designated Polyphant SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest) in 1994, were the source of an ornamental building stone, a variety of elvan.

Trewen (Cornish: Trewynn) is a hamlet and a civil parish in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom The parish is just east of Bodmin Moor in the River Inny valley and lies in the Registration District of Launceston. Trewen parish is bounded to the north by Egloskerry parish, to the east by St Thomas-by-Launceston, to the south by South Petherwin and to the west by Altarnun and Laneast parishes. The population of Trewen parish in the 2001 census was 134. This had increased to 142 at the 2011 census. The population of Trewen was 193 in 1801, 221 in 1841, 99 in 1921 (it declined at every census between 1851 and 1921), 80 in 1961 and 141 in 2011 (it increased at every census between 1971 and 2011).The hamlet of Trewen is situated 5 miles (8 km) west of Launceston. The parish church of St Michael is in the village at OS Grid Ref SX251835. The little church has a bellcote rather than a tower. "The church is an ancient granite building in the Early Perpendicular style, which was restored in 1863/1864; it comprises a chancel, nave, and north aisle". The font is Norman, square and plain. The only other hamlet in the parish of Trewen is Piper's Pool which straddles the A395 road.

Sharptor is a hamlet west of Henwood in the civil parish of Linkinhorne in east Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is named after Sharp Tor on Bodmin Moor. Sharptor is close to Minions to the south, Kingbeare in the north and Darleyford to the east. Sharptor is around 280 metres (920 ft) above sea level. Caradon Hill, standing at 371 metres (1,217 ft) high, on which there is a TV transmission mast on the summit is visible from Sharptor looking south. Kit Hill standing at 334 metres (1,096 ft), which is topped with the stack of South Kit Hill mine, is visible due east from Sharptor. On a clear day, east and just to the right of Kill Hill, Dartmoor can be seen.
